Restaurant Daily News Sunday, May 21, 2017 1 0 RENAU'S NEW SPM-708 SMART POWER MODULE USES PATENT PENDING OVER-CURRENT PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY TO PROTECT FOODSERVICE EQUIPMENT Renau Electronic Laboratories again demonstrates the power, flexibility and ease-of-use of its Single Wire Communication Network with several innovative new products that give equip- ment manufacturers and operators a cus- tom-tailored control solution to meet any requirement or budget. Among the most exciting of these new Single Wire Communication Network products is the recently introduced SPM-708 Smart Power Module. Renau's Single Wire Communication Network allows fast and simple communication between Renau's wide range of interface devices, switch- es, modules and process controllers. This allows equipment manufacturers unprecedented levels of design flexibility by not only simplifying wiring, but also by providing them with a scalable and modular system that allows components to easily be added or removed as the application requires. This drastically shortens development times while deliv- ering a product that meets or exceeds customer requirements and expectations. The SPM-708 is a compact, powerful relay module that can be mount- ed virtually anywhere on industrial equipment. Using Renau's Single Wire Communication Network, the SPM-708 connects to any of Renau's compact, powerful hybrid micro process controllers or intuitive user interface modules to power even the most inten- sive and demanding applications. Equipment operators and customers see a sleek, elegant display that can easily be mounted anywhere on the appliance while keeping the process controller and relay module out of sight within the con- trolled equipment, eliminating expensive and complicated harnesses. With a compact, durable design that boasts eight power outputs, the SPM-708 replaces large and expensive solid state relays and relay switches with a microprocessor- based smart power mod- ule using patented and patent-pending technolo- gy that significantly increases reliability and product life while reduc- ing the end-user's labor, maintenance and inventory costs. In order to perform in the most demanding foodservice industry environ- ments, all Renau products are fully encapsulated for outstanding protection from extreme temperatures, humidity and shock. Designed and manufactured in the USA, all Renau products are rigorously tested and come with an industry-leading three year warranty. TRADITION WITH A TWIST: NEW MENU CONCEPTS COMBINE AUTHENTICITY WITH EXCITEMENT If there's one thing today's consumers love, it is experimenting with flavors in new and unexpected ways. It's all about taking comfort foods out of their comfort zone with fun and unique creative mashups presented in surprising combi- nations. Traditional Italian meats from Fontanini are a great base for creating new menu concepts. One of Fontanini's most innovative ideas include its signa- ture Dunk-a-Nini ® . Simply use Fontanini Mamma Ranne Meatballs and wrap them in your fresh pizza dough, fry until they are hot and crispy and serve. Delicious each and every time! Another favorite is the famous Cranberry Peach Meatball appetizer, made with Fontanini Mamma Ranne Meatballs. Just add your own cranberry sauce, sliced peaches, mild picante sauce and fresh ginger to the meatballs and you have a flavor infused treat that your customers will come back for. Or if you are looking for an entrée, try using Fontanini's authentic Italian sausage pieces served on a bed of rigatoni pasta with roasted vegetables. One of Fontanini's most popular classics is its signature Chicago Combo Sandwich, made with Fontanini Raw Italian Sausage Link, Sliced Italian Beef and hot giardiniera on a fresh roll. This year, at the National Restaurant Show, Fontanini is serv- ing its sliced Italian beef with sliced sausage and roasted peppers. From appetizers to center-of-the- plate, Fontanini can help make any restaurant's menu stand out with great- tasting, premium quality meats that deliver a memorable dining experience. Fontanini offers a full line of Italian sausages, beef, meatballs, pizza toppings and breakfast offerings that can be used in a variety of ways for any daypart. TASTE THE MARUKAN DIFFERENCE Marukan Vinegar has more then 360 years of experience making vinegar by slow-brewing sake from rice. The com- pany's smooth-tasting, premium rice vinegar is used in a variety of culinary dishes that complement and bring out the flavors of food. "Our parent company started in Japan in 1649 and was the first commer- cial seller of vinegar made from rice wine or sake," President Jon Tanklage says. "The Japanese call this vinegar 'Su.' Su allowed raw foods to be transported inland from the sea. The vinegar would be sprinkled on the rice and became a preservative for fish; that was the primitive version of sushi. Marukan is a primary company that made sushi possible." Marukan Vinegar has been produc- ing its products in Japan for 367 years and in Paramount, California, for the past 42 years. The company is currently in construction of its new 77,000- square-foot, state-of-the-art brewery in Griffin, Georgia, that will open in July 2017. The Georgia brewery will help the company meet the growing demand for Marukan Rice Vinegar and better serve its East Coast customers. "It sits on 16 acres, so there is a lot of room for expansion if we decide to get more versatile and go into dif- ferent product lines," Tanklage adds. When Marukan Vinegar came to California four decades ago, it served the growing sushi market. Today, rice vinegar has become more mainstream and is used in salad dressings, sauces and marinades, as well as for pick- ling. "The farm-to-table movement along with the demand for non-GMO and organic products is help- ing the high-quality, milder vinegars like Marukan grow," Tanklage says. "A premium vinegar, like ours, has a bal- ance of flavor and brings out the flavor in food."
