EXTANG INTRODUCES REDESIGNED SOLID FOLD TONNEAU COVER An interview with Steve Kelley, Vice President of Sales, Extang. ADN: Tell us about Extang. SK: We're the industry's leading tonneau cover manufacturer, offering the world's largest selection. Produced in our new 250,000 square foot plant in Ann Arbor, Mich., we offer the strongest engineered, yet easiest to use products to cover a truck bed, providing a true upgrade to any truck. And we always treat our cus- tomers as one of our family. ADN: What are the most popular styles of tonneau covers today and why? SK: Over the past 10 years, we've seen folding tonneau covers become one of the most popular styles. They are very easy to install, remove and use, which is great for both the shop that needs to sat- isfy customers with little waiting and the customer that wants immediate access to their cargo. These are offered in both soft (vinyl) and hard panels which offer extra security. Extang offers many folding ton- neau cover choices starting with the Trifecta (soft) and Solid Fold (hard) which comes fully assembled and installs literal- ly as quick as it takes to remove it from the box. We offer these in both standard and toolbox models. We also offer a full bed utility model, the eMAX, which is a Trifecta that folds up to the back window – really great prod- uct. Our last folding cover is the EnCore, a hard, low-profile cover with front or rear opening and auto latching. It's my favorite cover we offer right now. Mighty Auto Parts has harnessed the power of both the tablet and the smartphone in two easy-to- use, customizable apps. Mighty's new "Love My Ride" smartphone app allows retailers to tie their customers to them and their servic- es, building customer loyalty and sales. "There are over 166 million smartphones in use in the U.S. alone," said Mighty's Senior V.P. of Sales and Marketing, Gary Vann. "Our 'Love My Ride' app is an effective and inexpensive way for our retailers to connect with their customers and stay connected." Consumers can use the app to track their vehicle's service history, make appointments, receive service reminders and much more, according to Mighty. Retailers can brand the app, customizing it with information on their locations and menu of services. They also have the power to push spe- cials and service tips to their cus- tomers as well. Vann added, "Having your own app for both Apple and Android phones is something service providers will absolutely love!" Mighty's new ASSIST tablet app offers retailers a solution for two major challenges they often face: The first is performing a consistent and thorough vehicle inspection every time, and sec- ond, is effectively communicating the results and selling needed PM services to consumers.
