Ki t c h e n wa re N e ws & H o u s e wa re s Re vi e w S h o w D a i l y M o n d a y, M a rc h 1 7 , 2 0 1 4 4 6 SIPPED, NOT SHOT: GLASSWARE ENHANCES YOUR WHISKEY EXPERIENCE Libbey Glass introduces the Perfect Collection, a line of glassware shapes designed to enhance the experience of brown spirits. Over the past couple of years, there has been a resurgence of whiskey around the country. Millenials are driving this boom. As Gen Y's desire for a more authentic experience grows, whiskey fits the bill with its rich history and complex fla- vor. This serves as a solid opportunity for retailers to grab a younger audience and show- case that they are on trend with the larger movement: tapping the past to forge a sense of continuity for the future. Libbey's Perfect Collection packag- ing is designed to both entice and edu- cate. The collection is ideal for the aficionado and novice alike, and captures the essence of brown liquor dis- tilling, which is truly both a science and an art. Visit Libbey Glass at booth S1020. For more information, go to retail.libbey.com, call 419-325-2579 or email info@libbey.com. SIRENA OFFERS NEW BAGLESS TECHNOLOGY Sirena Inc. has released the newest inno- vation in residential cleaning. Consumers can now find the high quali- ty Sirena water filtration vacuum in retail stores throughout North America. Sirena is now in five countries, and sold 3,500 units the first 90 days it launched. Dealers really appreciate the above average profits. Water filtration vacu- ums are considered the best technology for the many people who suffer from breathing disorders or allergies. Pet owners will love the superior cleaning ability of Sirena's water filtration when it comes to pet fur and dander. Water is ecologically friendly, compared to the manufacturing process for bags. Prior to Sirena, stores had pretty much the same product row after row to offer customers. It is either a bag style system or the "bagless," which offers less cleaning with more frequent maintenance. Now consumers have real choice when searching for ways to maintain their indoor environment. Sirena harnesses the power of nature to water wash air leaving your home clean and fresh. Save hundreds of dollars by using the Sirena Fragrance pack to aromatize your air, or the fresh smelling Ocean Breeze deodorizer to remove odors such as cooking and pets. Industry experts have referred to Sirena as "a game changer," and Tom Gasko of the Vacuum Cleaner Museum calls the release of Sirena "A New Dawn." Customers are raving about the functionality and ease of use. Visit Sirena at booth L3348/49, go to www.sirenainc.com or call 613- 695-6444. J.K. The clear teak oil finish showcases the rich, warm tones and unique wood grain pat- terns. The boards are available in three versatile sizes to suit serving at the table, in the living room, in the kitchen or on the patio. The Shelburne Ash Cutting Boards are made from American ash, a durable hard wood that keeps up with everyday food preparation demands. From slicing bread to chopping vegetables for soup or snacking, these solid, sturdy boards withstand the wear and tear of a busy kitchen. The smooth hand- burnished finish means that this classic board doubles as a server in a pinch. Shelburne cutting boards are finished with clear, food-safe teak oil. The boards are fin- ished with teak oil so they will last for years. If cared for properly, these boards can be handed down to family members. The rule for cherry and ash, or any fine wood, is to wash it gently and hang it or let it stand up to dry. Over time, the boards will develop their own patina. The boards can be occasionally treated with a food-grade wood mineral oil. Designed for food presentation, the Grafton and Shelburne offer a lovely backdrop for serving breads, cheese, crackers, fruits and appetizers. Both the Grafton and the Shelburne are made in Dorset, Vt. Customers can stop by the factory/store and view the boards being made. Visit J.K. Adams at booth 1605. STAINLESS STEEL COOKWARE FROM MAXWAY By John Chin, General Manager, Maxway Imports, Inc Maxway is displaying its new and com- plete line of stainless steel cookware in Chicago at the International Home and Housewares Show 2014. The company is introducing a product which was given an award for best practice of inventive design. The new product features new design, packaging and technology. The star of the new Maxway line of stainless steel cookware is a complete set of cookware for a standard family of five. This cookware set reaches a new level of design and features. The body material is made out of 18/10 stainless steel and topped off with an 11 layer capsule bot- tom. The rivet handle consists of stain- less steel and Bakelite. The knob has a thermometer which indicates the level of temperature. The numbers refer to the amount of chromium and nickel that go into the steel to make it stainless. The two grades are essentially the same. You sometimes see 18/0, which has no nickel. It's still stainless, but not as shiny and might get rust spots. Only the chromium is required to make it legally stainless steel. Chromium is added to make the iron rust- proof, while nickel inhibits corrosion. 18/10 stainless steel grade is the best for any stainless steel cookware. The 11 layer capsule bottom is made with AISI 430 stainless steel, aluminum alloy, pure aluminum, 304 surgical stainless steel and carbon. The combination of these materials distributes the heat evenly and keeps the high temperature longer. In addition to the cookware sets, the Maxway line includes individual stock pots (large and small), sauce pans, low stock pots, vacuum flasks, chafing dishes and fry pans. The variety selection of cook- ware products are an ideal for any family size and made it a one-stop shop. Pricing is as important as selection to consumers, which is why Maxway has made its quality cookware affordable. The company has been in business for over a decade, based in Los Angeles. Visit Maxway at booth S5213. For more information, call 866-886-7728, email sales@maxwaycookware.com or visit www.maxwaycookware.com.
