The Tuff Tote Dry Bags are easy to use and great for keep- ing the water out. The Tuff Tote Dry Bag is made with a similar manufacturing process as the Tuff Truck Bag, using heat welded seams and features a Class-3 Waterproof roll down waterproof opening on the top of the bag. There is no metal on the bag, so dealing with a rusty zipper is not an issue. Each bag comes in a unique size from the small 15L to a huge duffle bag that can hold enough for a weekend get- away with a cavernous capacity of up to 60L. The bags are offered in a variety of colors to suit any outdoor excursion. "We really wanted to make a portable version of what we had in the Tuff Truck Bag," says Philip Dozer, President of Tuff Truck Bags, Inc. "We were so impressed with the lightweight durability of the Tuff Truck Bag that we took a similar material and used the same heat fusion welding which cre- ated a more portable ver- sion. I love the duffle bag, I even brought mine out here to the SEMA Show as my luggage bag." The Tuff Tote Dry Bags are current- ly available in three different sizes. The 15L red or orange dry bag is perfect for a day out on the water or in the tree stand, while the 30L black or white bag holds a little extra, plus has a "view window" to see inside. The gray or white duffle is the largest Tuff Tote Dry Bag and easily has enough room to hold items for a two or three day getaway with its 60L capacity. Visit Tuff Truck Bag at booth #38153. He has been operating detail shops and train- ing centers for 38 years and understands the importance of quality. Working on some of the world's finest cars is one thing, but in 2002, Doyle earned the trust of Boeing, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force and The Museum of Flight to land his most high-profile proj- ect. "The days of wax on, wax off are over," says Doyle. "Today's vehicles are more complex than ever before, and hav- ing a partner that understands my insur- ance needs is one of my highest priori- ties. That's why Alliant has been a great resource. We weren't looking for just insurance; we were looking for peace of mind that we had the exact coverage needed for our business. Alliant made that happen for us." Diane Doyle, Renny's wife and business partner, agrees. "Our business is unique and complex, and having the proper insurance cover- age is a challenge. We have felt for many years that we needed more than just an insurance provider; we needed an ally and partner. We needed a com- pany that would assist us in building a complete insurance package. This includes coverage that matches the level of client we serve and the broad range of vehicles we service, along with proper coverage for our business property." The Doyles believe that com- munication and industry knowl- edge are key to this winning part- nership. "Alliant is fantastic at communication. They know our business and understand what we need to cover our risks. This open com- munication is just one reason we are dedicated to doing business with Alliant. Your Shop Goes Digital: Making the Switch with AutoVitals When JR Luna, Owner of Concours Motors in Ventura, California, first pre- sented SmartFlow to his team, he said he was met with some hesitation. However, he knew what the long-term benefits would be and he took a stance that this was the way it was going to be from now on. "I think if I had given them the option, it wouldn't have worked," Luna says. "Technicians find a way to resist change, and this was a dramatic shift." Luna explained the process to his staff and what the results would be: cus- tomers would be more satisfied, there would be more transparency and the shop would end up selling more work. All of these promises came true. Luna has five technicians at his shop, and he decided to make a game out of it. When the techs first started using SmartFlow, Luna incentivized them by saying that the technician that took the most photos during the inspection process would get a prize. "It made it a competition and more fun," Luna says. He also had prizes for second and third place so that everyone could feel like they had a chance. When the staff first started, the digital inspection process took 25 minutes, which was longer than the handwrit- ten way. Luna says that now that they've had time to practice and get the process down, it takes less than 20 minutes, which is about the same amount of time it took before. The new process has increased the ARO, technician confi- dence and overall customer satisfaction, Luna says. For shop owners that are met with hesitation, Luna says to just stick with it. "If someone is not willing to make a change and give it a chance, they're not willing to do what's best for the shop," Luna says. Want to demo digital inspections in your shop, use the simplified inspection sheet and send results by email or text? The Benefits of a Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel A flywheel at its most basic is a device to store energy. In the case of a flywheel used in automotive applications, it actu- ally serves several purposes. First, it stores energy to help smooth out the torque and power flow of the engine as it runs through its combustion cycles. The flywheel gains energy as the engine accelerates, and stores it as rotational kinetic energy. It then gives some of that energy back to the system to help create momentum to carry the crank and pistons through the compression cycle and help optimize power delivery. Second, the fly- wheel also helps to deliver rotational and torsional stability and balance to the engine's rotating assembly in order to help the engine run smoother and reduce wear. Billet aluminum flywheels are designed to be much stronger than OE cast iron flywheels, but their lower weight will provide significant perform- ance benefits by delivering faster throttle response, quicker acceleration, smoother shifting and easier vehicle braking. Billet aluminum flywheels will provide a more responsive and "nimble" driving experi- ence over vehicles equipped with heavy iron or steel flywheels. In addition, alu- minum flywheels are much better at dis- sipating heat from your clutch, which can greatly improve clutch performance and life, whether it's a factory style clutch disc or performance disc. All of Fidanza's flywheels, whether made from aluminum or steel, are CAD designed/engineered and precision CNC machined from top quality billet forg- ings to strict tolerances for optimum per- formance and relia- bility. All of its fly- wheels are bal- anced and thor- oughly inspected for quality and fitment. Most are designed as a direct replace- ment for the OE units and do not require any modifications to be used. Fidanza also designs its flywheels as a multi- piece unit, allowing them to be com- pletely serviceable by either the con- sumer or the company's in-house techni- cal department. With the replaceable friction surface, you never have to resur- face the flywheel, giving it an almost infinite lifespan. Simply replace the fric- tion plate when replacing the clutch and the flywheel is like new again. Fidanza also uses a separate starter ring gear, allowing it to be replaceable if damages were ever to occur from a failed starter or pinion gear. During the design process of its alu- minum flywheels, Fidanza figures in a reduction of roughly 40-60 percent in weight over the OEM unit. This fig- ure will help to deliver faster throt- tle response, free up horsepower that the engine is already producing, all while maintaining comfortable driving habits. If too much weight is removed, adverse affects can happen, like higher RPMs are needed to begin moving the car, idle changes and possible stalling, or even OBD sensor issues causing the dreaded check engine light. Once designed and production begins, all of Fidanza's fly- wheels are produced using the highest quality materials, from the raw materials to the CNC machines they are being pro- duced on. Only after the prototype prod- ucts and real world testing is complete will Fidanza have a final product ready for consumer usage. Visit Fidanza Performance at booth #25069.
