Aftermarket Daily News 8 5 Tuesday, October 31, 2017 formance. Dan-Am Air ® , along with SATA filtration, can solve all of these issues. Dan-Am Air is lightweight, aircraft grade, powder coated aluminum, which provides clean, dry air up to 232 psi. The reinforced composite Nylon fittings have dual seals, which rest on un-scraped pipe, providing a leak free guarantee. Press-to- Connect fittings feature a full bore design for turbulence-free air delivery. This quick, instant connection eliminates the need to thread, solder or glue, accounting for far less installation times than tradi- tional copper or black pipe. The company also stocks a large array of threaded connectors and adapters, allowing Dan-Am Air to be integrated into existing systems without compromising performance, making DAA perfect for upgrade or expansion projects. Designed with simplicity in mind, DAA allows you to do-it-yourself. Measure, cut, de-burr, then simply Press- to-Connect, equaling lower installation times and cost. All fittings arrive pre- torqued for immediate assembly and pressurization, as well as being inter- changeable, allowing for ease of future addition or expansion. This "Press-to- Connect" subject tends to be the most misunderstood instructions in the DAA system. We have all been taught since we Dan-Am Air (Cont'd. from p. 1) were young to loosen a given item, put it together, then tighten it back up, right? That is wrong with Dan-Am Air. Do not loosen fitting caps before installation. It really is as simple as push the fitting onto the pipe until it bottoms out. Done. The only reason to loosen a fitting cap is to remove the fitting from the pipe. Loosening the cap relieves the pressure on the grip ring, allowing you to gently back out the pipe. To reuse any given fit- ting, simply re-torque the fitting cap to factory specs (line the arrows up), and "Press-to-Connect." As each cap is indi- vidual to its fitting, the arrows are either solid or hollow, respectively. Fitting caps are not interchangeable. DAA also allows you to take your investment with you in the case of relo- cation, as all components are reusable. Product design and support is readi- ly available from Dan-Am Company. It also has all products on hand and ready to ship, as well as in-house support for quotes and general information. Dan-Am Co. is the exclusive importer of SATA Products for the United States and Puerto Rico. Anywhere you can purchase SATA Products also has access to Dan-Am lines as well, including Dan-Am Air. The user rolls it up and stows it when they aren't using it so they can still have full use of their truck bed. It only takes a minute to roll out and set up, and it's very easy to load with your luggage or cargo; zip up and hit the road. ADN: How did you come up with the Tuff Truck Bag? PD: We live close to the Gulf of Mexico, and during the summer months there is usually rain every afternoon. Being close to the coast, we go to the beach – a lot – and I got tired of placing my luggage into trash bags to keep dry. I called my oldest son, Tim, and asked him if there was a cargo travel bag that fit a truck bed, and he did the research to show that no, there was not. So we got to work designing and inventing the bag. ADN: How long did it take to invent? PD: This was back in 2008/2009, so probably about a year. Tim did the digital illustrations and product designs, figur- ing out how the bag would work and measure in a bed – we wanted it to fit any mid or full size bed – and then we made the first bag out of awning material. It Tuff Truck Bag (Cont'd. from p. 1) was pretty heavy. ADN: When did you realize you had a great product? PD: Probably when we really finalized materials and began selling the early bags. We strive to have great customer service, so we would ask our customers about how they felt about the Tuff Truck Bag. We got a lot of input from them, as well as photos and video of them using the bags, but most importantly, they would tell us about how much they liked the product. I knew then we had some- thing. The best part has been making this journey with my two sons and family friends. We're very proud of our product, but the journey here has been just as good, maybe better. ADN: You have the patent, correct? PD: Yes, we do have the patent on the product. We received that in October of 2013, and really that's when things started picking up. In 2014, we added a national sales manager to our team and saw our largest growth, which has continued. Visit Tuff Truck Bag at booth #38153. The Swiss company attributes its success, in part, to fostering long-lasting partnerships, and its newest partnership is its most ambitious yet. In March 2016, Oetiker announced the acquisition of Jiffy-tite, another powerhouse in fluid connections. "The acquisition of Jiffy-tite aligns perfectly with our long-term strategy to be a global leader for high-end connect- ing solutions in the vehicle industry," said Thomas Meier-Bickel, Chief Executive Officer of Oetiker Group. "Jiffy-tite's highly engineered, applica- tion focused products, especially its quick connects, are an optimal comple- ment to our clamping portfolio, resulting in a broader offering of connecting solu- tions for a wider range of applications to our automotive customers." Jiffy-tite began manufacturing fluid fittings in 1963. Through decades of con- stant dedication to quality, the Lancaster, New York-based company has garnered a sterling reputation as the industry leader in quick connect fluid fittings and con- nectors. "Our success in North America has earned us a reputation which has opened doors for us overseas. As our business continues to expand, we must adapt to customers who do not live within driv- ing distance of us. Being now part of the global Oetiker Group, I see many growth opportunities for our products, especially in Europe and Asia," said Oetiker (Cont'd. from p. 1) Steve Zillig, former Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Jiffy-tite Group. "Furthermore, as family owned compa- nies, both Jiffy-tite and Oetiker share a tradition of entrepreneurship and many common values and attributes, which makes Oetiker even more of an ideal partner for Jiffy-tite." Currently, 24 automotive brands across the world depend on Jiffy-tite fluid fittings for transmission and heat exchange applications. Chances are, when serving an automatic transmission, radiator or auxiliary cooler, the OEM used Jiffy-tite fluid fittings. With more than 500 million Jiffy-tite products in service worldwide, and an impressive 260,000 parts leaving its western New York facilities every day, the company still takes the time to 100 percent leak test each individual fitting. Oetiker's acquisition of Jiffy-tite creates an even more comprehensive global footprint for the company. Bringing unsurpassed quality and cus- tomer service to the new partnership, both companies can now offer customers around the world an even higher level of confidence when purchasing quick con- nect fluid fittings and clamps. With com- plementary products, Oetiker and Jiffy- tite are now the undeniable authorities in reliable connections, giving customers peace of mind for mission critical appli- cations.
