Kitchenware News & Housewares Review Show Daily 9 7 Sunday, March 19, 2017 again nearly doubling our sales thanks to our wonderful retailers and supportive customers. Big thanks if you are reading this. We have listened to you and are releasing our two-pack Jute Scrub Cloths this year and new packaging. Please come by our booth to check them out at #S150! I have to tell you all; I'm so sur- prised to see how far we have come, despite everyone telling us it couldn't be done, and that we would never get any- where for the long list of reasons most small business don't make it. I can't believe we started in 2008 with an idea, and a passion to do something about poverty, landfills and the poor quality products so many of us buy because there is nothing better. I'm so proud of offering handmade quality products, made from natural fibers, to our con- sumers. I'm even more proud of how well they have been received. How often do you walk into a grocery store, gift or specialty store, and find some- Sinko (Cont'd. from p. 1) thing that is handmade, affordable, will work hard and last? I know I'm a very small voice in the ocean of commercial products, and that it will take more than "little me" to affect change in our disposable society, but in the many years I have been fighting the good fight, I am seeing the tides turning. I am hopeful that one day the amount of waste we purchase knowing it will end up in our oceans and landfills will be so insignificant that our earth can bear it, and that the large producers of it give way to craftsmanship. I write a state of the union for my little company every year for this show, and wonder who reads it. I have to admit, I usually just look at the beauti- ful ads to find something I can take back home for my kids, but if you're out there and reading this message, please visit me at www.toockies.com, and let me know if what I'm seeing is really happening or if it is just wishful thinking. CDN stands out as a global category leader with the personal service and com- mitment of a business that's been family owned for over 30 years. We're known for product innovation, superior cus- tomer service, quality and value. KNSD: What distinguishes CDN prod- ucts from the competition? JM: Our retail partners appreciate our superior customer service and competi- tive pricing. We tool many of our own products, so innovation is another advantage. Our quality and durability show in our choice of premium materi- als such as 304-grade stainless steel to our standard five-year warranty. We have a broad line, with numerous inno- vations such as recalibratable digital thermometers and thermometers featur- ing Biocote, an HACCP-approved anti- microbial. KNSD: What inspired your recent scales launch? JM: Our customers asked for scales based on our expertise in kitchen meas- urement tools. Also, our thermometer and timer assortments were so broad that it was time to expand into an adjacent category. Scales is a high opportunity category, because of the growing aware- ness of the importance of portion control for healthy eating, and because con- sumers are becoming more aware of the benefits of measuring ingredients by weight instead of volume for better bak- ing and cooking results. CDN (Cont'd. from p. 1) KNSD: Are you expanding your scales collection in 2017? JM: Yes, we'll have a number of new dig- ital scales including a variety of portion control scales, waterproof scales, a high precision scale and more. We'll also be expanding our mechanical scale collection. KNSD: What other new products are planned for 2017? JM: We have some exciting thermometer and timer introductions planned for this year. Highlights include the ProAccurate Digital Thermometer with a 1.7mm reduced tip, ProAccurate Infrared Gun/Thermocouple Thermometer and LED Probe Thermometer/Timer. KNSD: How broad is your ongoing ther- mometer and timer line? JM: We offer over 90 thermometers and timers, from the basic to the unique. It starts with our core assortment of best- selling category essentials, and moves beyond to a solution for any time or tem- perature-measuring task. Our thermometer styles include bev- erage and frothing, oven and grill, dish- washer, refrigerator/freezer and candy and deep fry models, plus we have a wide assortment of digital and mechanical timers. We also have multitasking mod- els, such as our Bluetooth Dual Probe Thermometer & Timer that links to mobile iOS and Android devices via an exclusive CDN app. For more information, visit booth #S820 or www.cdnkitchen.com. saving consumers time and money.
