Aftermarket Daily News 7 7 Friday, November 4, 2016 Cloth, you'll conserve both time and effort. A disposable cleaning cloth requires up to 20 percent less effort, up to 23 percent less time and up to 40 percent less solvent to complete a task compared with rags and rental cloths (Panel test conducted by Swerea Research Institute, Sweden, 2014); Tork wipers take up to 80 percent less space than rags or rental shop towels, resulting in less storage, freight and ultimately, disposal space required; and using products that are both designed and packaged for the task at hand can result in a more efficient work- Tork (Cont'd. from p. 4) place. By using dispensers, wipers are protected from contamination and splat- ter, while the one-at-a-time dispenser minimizes waste. As described by Bill Venturini, President of Venturini Motorsports, "Our shop no longer relies on traditional ways of cleaning. As technology has evolved, so must the tools we use. The introduc- tion of a task-based wiper is a small yet smart way to increase both the effective- ness and the efficiency." The QuickDraw and Center-Lok Overhead Gun Racks are covered by two U.S. patents: D734,957S and D687,247S – both dealing with Great Day's "Opposing Forces" installation method. For utility vehicles with regular covers on the top, firearms stay totally protected from the elements. The Quick Draw Overhead Gun Rack holds two guns securely inside the roof area of all popular brands of UTVs. The Center- Lok, on the other hand, mounts in the ceiling of trucks, autos, Jeeps and SUVs. With more than 20 models to choose from, Great Day provides a wide range of fitment capabilities for fitting all major brands. The regular QuickDraw Gun Rack models feature super-soft rubber gun clips that provide easy access and secure transport. (Note: installation on UTVs will not work if the top prevents access to rear top frame). Using Great Day's "Opposing Forces" technology – a unique mounting system – the rack installs in just minutes without any drilling or bolting. The Quick Draw Great Day (Cont'd. from p. 1) Overhead Gun Rack is constructed of air- craft aluminum and weighs only 3.5 pounds. The line of overhead gun racks for trucks, Jeeps, autos and SUVs is mar- keted under the brand "Center-Lok" (covered by the D734,957S Patent). The Center-Lok Gun Racks are partic- ularly unique in that they require no drilling or bolting for installation. Also, the design positions the guns snugly against the headliner of the vehicle – out of sight of passersby. Installation can be done in just a mat- ter of minutes without any special tools. Many states and Canadian provinces have laws that require firearms to be encased when transported in a vehicle of any kind. Great Day accommodates this issue by offering every model of QuickDraw and Center-Lok Gun Rack with larger holding clips designed to hold guns in cases. An exclu- sive Wet Sounds feature is the ability to control up to four zones of RGB LED lighting when paired with the Wet Sounds/Shadowcaster RGB LED light- ing controller. For audio features, the MC1 offers four separate zones of 4-volt audio out- put. Each zone can have user customized labels for easy control any time. The MC1 also includes 25W x 4 of built-in audio power. Once the user has set the zone levels, one simple control can raise or lower the vessel's complete audio sys- tem level. The MC1 is designed to be simple and easy to use – at the dock, the Wet Sounds (Cont'd. from p. 1) party cove or cruising on the water. Built for the marine environment with an IPX6 rating, the 5-inch display unit even has a voltage monitor and alarm to warn users when the vessel bat- tery voltage is reaching critically low lev- els. The MC1's operating system has the capability to upgrade and update the firmware without removing the unit via the USB port. Through either Bluetooth or USB connection, the MC1 allows complete browsing of playlists, folders and full color displays of album art- work. For full control from anywhere other than the helm, multiple MC-TR transom remotes can be added. Offering the same IPX6 rating as the MC-MD, the MC-TR is available separately from Wet Sounds. Modern vehicles often require soft- ware updates or reprogramming during repair. In many cases, when an electronic control module (ECM), transmission or other electronic part is replaced, new software must be installed in the car's computer system(s). In 1998, Drew Technologies began working with the SAE and automakers to develop a stan- dard for vehicle reprogramming (SAE J2534). Drew Technologies released the first J2534 tool in the market in 2002. In a recent survey conducted by ETI, Drew Technologies was identified as the leader in market share and customer satisfaction for J2534 tools. Technicians are challenged to keep up the pace with the tools, training and experience required to service all brands of vehicles. Often technicians are turning down repair jobs that require reprogram- ming because they aren't equipped, or have concerns that lack of training and experience could lead to difficulties com- pleting the repair. Drew Technologies has always offered training and support to assist technicians, but now provides a Drew Technologies (Cont'd. from p. 1) new option with the RAP system. The RAP system was designed as a turn-key remote solution that can be used by any technician, regardless of experi- ence. Drew Technologies developed a hardware kit that consists of a J2534 device, PC, internet connection, battery maintainer, Flash software for each sup- ported automaker and a remote interface to Drew Tech's experts. The service includes a success guarantee, so if the reprogramming fails, Drew Technologies will take care of it. There is no up-front cost for technicians to lease the kit. A small fee is charged each time the remote service is utilized, along with a $19.95 monthly fee that is waived if the kit is used at least twice per month. The RAP system leverages success from other Drew Technologies J2534 products and its industry leading technical support team, while incorporating over a decade's worth of intellectual property with several patent(s) pending. The sys- tem has been in testing by repair shops and automakers since March of 2016 with hundreds of successful reprogramming events completed. Patent(s) pending.
