What are you planning to accomplish this week? TA: At CES, we'll be introducing our- selves to the world from our booth #27033 in South Hall 2. There's a whole body of new potential clients who aren't big enough to do direct buys from manu- facturers, but we're one place where peo- ple can go to get just about everything they need. You can use us to work with you so you can have a bigger offering, and you can work off our inventory instead of having to take your own posi- tions. In addition, our buying power is so great that we can offer you great pricing for your programs. We're almost like a buying group without a fee to join. CEDN: What are your delivery and ship- ping times like? TA: We ship from warehouses in Columbia, Md., where we're headquar- tered, and from Dayton, Ohio, and we fulfill orders for in-stock items within 24 hours. If we're temporarily out of stock AMA Systems G lobal Trading ( Cont'd. from p. 1) on something, we'll let you know. We're big communicators, and we're always ready to pick up the phone – we'll never leave you hanging. CEDN: What else can you offer? TA: We're a global company with the capabilities to deliver anywhere in the world. We also have extensive abilities to customize our products to make them unique to you. We can do bundling so that if you want to offer your customers a package containing a special assortment of products, we can put that together for you. We can do engraving and full-color printing, so that if you have a customer that needs corporate gifts, we can put together something really special with your name and logo on it. We can actual- ly do downloads of video or music on products if needed, so if you want to sell your customers a tablet with your adver- tising jingle or an instructional video pre- loaded onto it, that's possible. We get everybody on board to create a solution for our customers, and everything we do is in compliance with the manufacturers' rules. Anything you can dream up, we can do. We are in the school of yes, not in the school of no. We're not a square peg- square hole company. We have tens of thousands of customers and they all want things different, and we're fine with that. That has been a big part of our success. For further information, visit AMA Systems Global Trading in booth #27033 in South Hall 2. JD: Stern Pinball Inc. is the oldest and largest designer and manufacturer of arcade-quality pinball games on the planet! Stern offers a full-line of com- mercial and consumer pinball games, merchandise, parts and accessories that are sold to pinball operators, enthusiasts and fans around the globe. CEDN: What would you say makes your company unique? JD: Being in the pinball industry in itself is unique. The pinball landscape has changed dramatically through the years – from a prohibition period to surges of popularity as well as sharp declines. What makes Stern truly unique are the pinball machines we produce and that we have stayed consistent with our qual- ity throughout the years. We employ more than 250 people and build our machines in Chicago. Stern is the only true manufacturer left with a full line of products and four design teams. CEDN: What was the most significant event or series of events affecting your company in the past year? JD: We always look forward to the International CES ® and San Diego Comic Con each year. We love talking about what we're doing and our future plans with both audiences. The Walking Dead machine also has been great for Stern. CEDN: What do you anticipate to be your greatest challenge in the year ahead? JD: Something we are always chal- lenged with is the pace at which enter- tainment changes. The coin op business saw a big decline with the boom of smartphones and the Internet, but we have been studying the market and con- sumers habits and have some great new games and technology to offer our users. CEDN: Are you introducing any new products? JD: We are introducing the Stern WWE pinball machine, which will be our first game with our new operating system technology – something we are incredi- Stern Pinball ( Cont'd. from p. 1) bly excited about. We are putting a lot of focus on the new technology. We're also expecting to see continued success with The Walking Dead machine. Reissue and vault editions will certainly be in Stern's future as well. CEDN: Who are your target end-users? JD: We have three customer bases. The commercial side of the business is and has always been the biggest. These games are sold to operators who place machines on location. The collector community is rapidly rising and we make specific models of games geared for this market, including our premium and limited edition machines. The other customer base is the general rec room buyer who probably has a pool table and other game room type items. These customers tend to become col- lectors. CEDN: What is your outlook in general for this product line? JD: Stern has quadrupled sales from 2009 to 2014, and 2015 looks to have another 20 percent increase. Pinball is now back on location. Tournament play is huge, with more than 20,000 ranked players all over the world. The high end collector market is rapidly growing as well. CEDN: To what do you attribute your company's success? JD: We work with some of the best machine designers in the business to offer our users the most unique pinball experience possible. We also have some great partnerships that really allow us to bring Stern pinball to new audiences as well as bring new games to our exciting customers. CEDN: How can our readers find out more about your company? JD: We regularly update our site with the newest announcements and machines. They can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook!
