C o n s u m e r E l e c t ro n i c s D a i l y N e ws Tu e s d a y, J a n u a r y 6 , 2 0 1 5 1 8 CHARGEHUB CHARGES UP TO SEVEN DEVICES FROM ONE POWER SOURCE The ChargeHub™ from Limitless Innovations is a seven-port USB charging station. It plugs right into the wall through its own cord and can power up to seven devices. The hub itself sits on a desk or table, and then the devices plug into it with their own USB cords. Another great feature is that the ChargeHub includes patent- pending SmartSpeed™ Technology to allow any port to charge the connected device at its maximum charging speed, regardless of whether it is an Apple iOS or Android device. Limitless Innovations is a licensed Apple MFi Developer, which ensures that their CableLinx™ USB cables are fully compatible with Apple devices. For users who don't have the orig- inal USB cords that came with their devices, CableLinx from Limitless Innovation are 3-1/2-inch charge and sync cables that are sold as an accesso- ry to the ChargeHub. They're available in the four most common types on the market today, including Lightning™, 30-Pin, Micro and Mini to USB, so they'll accom- modate the widest possi- ble variety of devices. ChargeHub is a descendant of Limitless Innovations' CableHub ® , which organizes up to seven cables, cords or wires at once while keep- ing them stabilized, protected and tan- gle-free! CableHub reduces exposed cords for safety and convenience – up to 10 feet of cables wrap around the weighted disc, which then snaps shut. Both CableHub and ChargeHub are easy to personalize. Either Limitless Innovations can print a name or logo to be added to the top of the product, or the user can print whatever they like on paper and insert it into the top of the device. The ChargeHub sells for $59.95 and is available for immedi- ate shipment and its CableLinx acces- sories start at $7.95. The CableHub retails for $14.95. For more information, visit Limitless Innovations in booth #71765, Tech West, Sands Expo, Level 2 during the 2015 International CES. EXPERIENCE VIRTUAL REALITY WITH ZEISS VR ONE ZEISS launched a mobile Virtual Reality (VR) headset in December 2014, at a price of $99. The ZEISS VR ONE works with smartphones featuring display sizes of between 4.7 and 5.2 inches. The attention of the young development team was sharply focused on user-friendliness, design and tech- nology. To dive into virtual worlds, all the user needs to do is select an appro- priate VR app and slide his or her smartphone into the headset using the tray provided. ZEISS VR ONE will ini- tially be available worldwide with a tray for the Samsung Galaxy S5 smart- phone and the iPhone 6. Other tray models are in the pipeline. The Computer Aided Design data for the rapid prototyping of the trays with the aid of 3D printing will be pub- lished for other smartphones in the near future. The transparent visor on the front allows the use of augmented real- ity apps with the smartphone camera. Eyeglass wearers can also use ZEISS VR ONE without difficulty as the "eye- box" is large enough for most eyeglass frames, therefore eliminating the need for complicated adjustments on the integrated ZEISS lenses. Project Manager Andreas Klavehn comments: "Particularly as far as system openness and the price are concerned, the headset constitutes a smart solution. ZEISS VR ONE is cer- tainly not a core product of the ZEISS Group. However, it is fun, and it repre- sents our contribution to the usefulness of virtual reality apps. Including the free software development kit (SDK), a freely available operating concept and solution for accelerated head tracking, ZEISS VR ONE offers a broad founda- tion for future apps." This potential will now be devel- oped together with the global VR com- munity in an open contest: from now until February 16, 2015, innovative ideas and visions as well as finished apps can be submitted via an online contest platform. A jury of internation- al experts will then select one winner each in the two categories "Ideation" and "Apps."
