C o n s u m e r E l e c t ro n i c s D a i l y N e ws 7 1 Tu e s d a y, J a n u a r y 6 , 2 0 1 5 SELFIES, FAMILY PORTRAITS, PRECIOUS MEMORIES - NOW IN 3D Photographs have been man's most suc- cessful form of time travel. They cap- ture moments and memories we never want to forget and take us there when- ever we look at them. But what if you could capture life's most cherished milestones like graduation, marriage and pregnancy in more vivid detail than a photograph ever could? 3D technologies are making this dream a reality and Artec Group is at the forefront, putting this technology within reach of the everyday consumers through its Shapify Booth. This first-of-its-kind full body scanning booth creates a full scan of a person in just 12 seconds. The scans are then automatically stitched together to produce a detailed 3D model in just five minutes. Using Artec's print- ing service, a person's scan can be printed to create a full color replica mini-me fig- urine called a "shapie." Shapies are per- fect for celebrating life's most important milestones and all of the other wonderful moments in between, from losing your first tooth to losing those extra pounds. Each Shapify Booth is equipped with four wide-view, high-resolution Artec scanners, which rotate around a person to scan them from all angles. The profession- al quality scanners and precision printing is able to capture even the smallest details, down to the wrinkles on a shirt. This is the first technol- ogy of its kind to completely automate the scanning and rendering processes for cre- ating 3D-printed images, meaning it requires virtually no human intervention from scan to print. The fully-auto- mated nature of the booth makes it simple to operate and easy to use for both owners and customers. The booth has seen great success overseas since rolling out to select Walmart- owned Asda grocery stores. For U.S. cus- tomers, the first retail installation of the Shapify Booth opened for business this month at the Dayton Mall in Ohio, with more installations to come. The Artec Shapify Booth will also be scanning visitors at the 2015 International CES ® . People will be able to see how their 3D model automatically recon- structs on a large screen, and then order their shapie, the 3D printed version, to be delivered to their address a week later. Shapies will be priced at $99, $139 and $199 for figurines 6- inches, 7.5-inches, and 9-inches high, respectively. Also on show at CES will be Artec's handheld 3D scanners, for those looking for professional 3D scanning solutions, used in a wide range of fields such as reverse engineering, industrial design, CGI and healthcare. The products are made for country music fans, whose demographic continues to outpace all other music genres in the U.S.A. Country music is the new mainstream, and its music fans make up more than 42 percent of the United States population. With more than 100 million consumers in the U.S.A. calling themselves "country fans," it sees great potential for creating a long term heritage brand, one that's uniquely "Tuned For Country." American country music has a rich his- tory that reflects authentic living, and Range audio products are uniquely crafted to reflect on our great audio heritage. Celebrating America and the music born from it, Range is crafted with the country music enthusiast in mind. Bem Wireless initiated its soft launch for the Range Strum Bluetooth speaker in November at a Country Music Association Awards afterparty in Nashville, Tenn. Celebrity guests and friends in attendance at the event expressed excitement over the new audio lineup on display throughout the event. Since the CMA event, the Range "Strum" speakers are now in the hands of top celebrity country artists. Bem Wireless will continue to unveil the brand in the coming months with its retail presence beginning in April, just in time for its involvement with the ACM's (The Academy of Country Music Awards). As a follow up to the "Strum" speaker, Range will be introducing a new wireless stereo speaker called "Ballad," inspired by your favorite boots and truck. Range is also due to launch its "Liberty" headphone series during the back-to-school period. Ongoing consumer marketing will take place throughout the year to support the launch. Bem Wireless is also a proud member of the Country Music Association. Visit Bem Wireless in Conference Room Suite S210.
