The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, the owner and pro- ducer of CES 2018, a global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Entries are evaluated on their engi- neering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, unique or novel features and how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace. TCL Named CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree TCL ® , one of the world's largest and America's fastest-growing television brands, has been named a CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree for its 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6. The decision was made by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, inde- pendent engineers and members of the trade media that judges cutting-edge con- sumer electronics products across 28 cat- egories. Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design quali- ties, intended use/function, user value, unique/novel features and how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the market- place. The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, the owner and producer of CES 2018. The Awards have been recognizing achieve- ments in product design and engineering since 1976. Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most advanced technology products and services coming to the market. "TCL is committed to fueling inno- vation in the television and consumer electronics markets and the 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 has raised the bar for home entertainment," said Tomson Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TCL Corporation. "By integrating the latest QLED and AI technologies, TCL is bringing the con- sumer an unprecedented viewing experi- ence. We are enormously proud to be named as a 2018 CES Innovation Award Honoree in recognition of TCL's ongoing commitment to innovation." TCL unveiled its 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 in September, trans- forming the television entertainment experience through artificial intelligence (AI) and new content solutions. The 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 features Quantum Dot technology and an elegant design, and is amongst the thinnest supersized TVs in the world. At just 24.8 mm wide at the thinnest part of the body, the 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 is the thinnest TV over 80" that applies local dimming technology. As TCL's latest generation QLED TV, the 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 employs world-leading Quantum Dot display technology. Its color volume is 2.8 times higher than OLED (500 nits) and its color purity is 58.3 percent better than traditional TVs. At 60,000 hours, the color lifespan of the 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 is twice as long as a regular OLED TV. The X6 adopts a local dimming solution and its picture hits 1,200 nits in peak brightness, contribut- ing to 600 backlit partitions. The contrast ratio (12 million:1) is increased by local dimming – supported by 1,200 LED backlights. The 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 supports Dolby Vision high- dynamic-range (HDR). The metallic finish on TCL's 85" QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 gives it a touch of luxury. Also, the product pro- vides the home designer with three differ- ent options – it can be mounted on a wall, set on a cabinet or placed on the floor.
