Food Equipment News 1 1 Friday, February 10, 2017 AN AWARD-WINNING GROUP It's day two of the NAFEM show and by now you've seen a fair amount of new products. Some of them you probably thought were just "meh," and others may have wowed you as game-changers that you immediately envisioned improving your operation. But of all the products you've seen so far, how many were award winners? Each year, Foodservice Equipment Reports Magazine hosts a smallwares and tabletop competition where new products are judged on their innovativeness and efficacy in the kitchen. Franklin Machine Products, known for bringing innovative products to the market, has had a number of prod- ucts win and even more have received honorable mentions. Take the award-winning Unclutchable™. No, it's not one of Eliot Ness's crew. It's an amazing little tool designed to make the arduous task of removing blender base clutches and con- tainer couplings easier and safer. Not only does the Unclutchable's firm grip- ping ability make the process safer, it speeds it up exponentially. Looking for an easy way to install refrigeration gaskets? The Gasket Boss™ Gasket Installation Tool, another award winner, makes replacing push-in style gaskets fast and easy, reducing installa- tion time significantly. The simple-to-use tool allows for a secure attachment at the right pressure, eliminating wear and tear on your thumbs. The award-winning product for 2016, The Universal Griddle Rail, can be seen at both the FMP booth and the What's Hot! What's Cool! Product Gallery. Need more storage and workspace on your cook line? The Universal Griddle Rail easily attaches to the front of most 36-inch griddles, creat- ing a space for holding frequently used tools such as spatulas, grill scrapers and tongs as well as food products like top- pings, garnishes, squeeze bottles and shakers – all at arm's length. Unlike other griddle rails that are made for specific griddles, the Universal Griddle Rail adjusts to fit most griddle manufacturers and models, and it works with ninth-, sixth- and third-size steam table pans. It is simple to install and can be reset with only minor adjustments. It's just as easy to remove for cleaning. With so many award-winning products to its credit, it's no sur- prise that FMP has held the honor of FE&S Magazine's Best in Class award for Parts and Accessories the last 16 consecutive years. Consistently earning this top honor in the parts world is no easy feat, but FMP's dedication and exemplary performance in the areas of product quality, service and support, product information, inven- tory and delivery, and sales reps are rec- ognized by the voters and appreciated by its customers. For more information, stop by booth #1403. To follow up after the show, visit the FMP website at www.fmponline.com or call 800.257.7737. TRITON BY ENGLISH MFG English Mfg. is an industry leader in food shield fabrication. For years, English has introduced innovative designs at highly competitive prices. One of the many questions that come up when designing or ordering a sneeze guard is how it will be installed and what type of mounting will need to be used. Most of the time, customers are satisfied with a flange mounted directly onto the counter. This is a basic and very affordable option. But what happens over time at an install? The nooks and crannies of the flange get coated with food if not properly taken care of, and the result is dirty, unsanitary and unsightly flanges. English Mfg. offers an easy-to-clean and low-profile thread- ed under-counter flange. It mounts with a nut and a washer from below the counter and has a beautiful tapered sur- face flange with no visible screws. Another benefit of this type of mounting that penetrates through the counter is the strength it gives the sneeze guard posts. The only problem is when there isn't access under the counter to tighten the nut – it would be impossible to specify this low-profile mount. English Mfg. has come up with the perfect solution. The Triton mounting system was invented for these diffi- cult under-counter instal- lations. On the surface, the Triton mount has a beautiful stainless steel 2-inch diameter tapered top flange. Under the counter, the Triton's Tri-bite technology opens and grips the underside of the counter, securing the mount in place, similar to that of a molly-bolt. Once the Triton mount is secured, the installer sim- ply inserts the posts into the flange and tightens the set screw. The Triton makes installation of under-count- er mounted sneeze guards a breeze. It's even designed with a hollow center to run any wiring for electrical accessories through the posts and into the counter. English is the only sneeze guard manufacturer to offer this new, patented, under-counter mount and it is now avail- able. To see a demonstration of how easy the Triton is to install, visit English Mfg. at booth #419. For more information, go to www .englishmfg.com or stop by booth #419.
