THE FUTURE OF PHARMACY AUTOMATION HAS ARRIVED Cornerstone Automation Systems (CASI) is proud to announce a significant advancement in pharmacy automation technology: The Next Generation Pharmacy Automation (NGPA) product line. Already being used by the second largest pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom and by the Department of Veterans Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacies (CMOPs) in the United States, this pharmacy automation equipment is the first of its kind. CASI designs, manufactures, installs and services pharmacy automation solu- tions to retail store, mail order, long-term care and correctional pharmacies. CASI addresses all production functions including bulk drug ordering and receiv- ing, pre-packaging, on-demand packag- ing, pill canister replenishment, dispens- ing, picking, labeling, sorting, documen- tation printing, bagging, boxing, weigh- ing, shipping and more. The NGPA advances state-of-the-art technology and does for prescription assembly what the robotic car production line did for automobile assembly. The modular platform, which handles all aspects of pharmacy production, is posi- tioned to revolutionize the pharmacy industry. It is the foundation of a dis- pensing model for which the U.K. gov- ernment suggests could potentially cover up to two-thirds of England's dispensing volume. It is also the com- mon platform for which the U.S. government envisions to dispense 100 percent of all U.S. Veteran mail order refill prescriptions. The NGPA product line handles bottles, vials, single-dose cards, multi- dose cards and unit of use (UOU) items. It can pre-pack pills or package pills on demand. Additionally, through advanced technology, packaged prod- uct can be automatically patient labeled without the need for pharmacist verifi- cation. If full or sample pharmacist ver- ification is still desired, prescription validation, label checking and canister fill verification can all be virtually inspected by pharmacists at remote workstations. Additionally, CASI Technology has 100 percent pill count accuracy to avoid oral solid dispensing shortages and overages. CASI also offers total functionality pharmacy software, called SolidSuiteRx, which inter- faces with any Pharmacy Information System, logistics provider, shipping company or other pharmacy control software to seamlessly tie in the product line. SolidSuiteRx directs, con- trols and tracks every operation within the pharmacy production arena, from forecasting bulk demand to verifying delivered patient prescriptions. With the most advanced technology on the market, Cornerstone Automation Systems is slat- ed to revolutionize the pharmacy automation market with its new NGPA product line. How does hello differentiate itself from larger com- petitors? CD: The category has been dominated by a small number of very large brands, but we know that people are looking for alternatives that are more contemporary, more relevant and more authentic. We aren't going to outspend our competition, so we focus on being more unique, more creative and more approachable. Every interaction someone has with hello is authentic, fun, friendly and memorable. We set out to make products that are effective, delicious and beautiful, and as natural as we can make them. We don't use artificial sweeteners, dyes, microbeads, preservatives or triclosan, but we do use high-quality ingredients like xylitol from non-GMO corn and sus- tainably harvested stevia. What's more, all hello products are packaged in BPA- free tubes and made in the U.S.A. They're gluten-free, vegan and aren't tested on animals – and we have the cer- tifications and recognition from groups like PETA and Leaping Bunny to prove it. CDD: What trends are driving the oral care category? CD: It's no secret there's been a surge of consumer interest beyond basic cavity protection. Whitening is becoming cost of entry, especially for younger people. We are also seeing heightened focus on sensitivity. Of course, people today are much more attuned to where their prod- ucts come from and what they're made of. People are looking for more natural ingredients and great design. The oral care category isn't fully delivering on those dimensions, which we see as a huge opportunity for a nimble and authentic brand like hello. CDD: What are the most significant innovations affecting the oral care category right now? CD: It's about giving people both what they need but also what they desire – functional and cosmetic benefits, natural and sustainable ingredients they can feel good about giving to their family, and also something that looks great. But it's not just about product innovation. People want to feel an emotional con- nection to the brands they buy and believe in the people that stand behind those brands. hello is a tight-knit group of passionate professionals and we're thrilled to bring some fun and friendly to the category. CDD: What's hello working on present- ly? CD: We respect a brusher's right to choose, and with that in mind, we recently launched SLS-free and fluoride-free adult and kids paste. We've added aloe vera, erythritol and xylitol to both pastes to help clean and whiten. Our adult version fea- tures a natural sweet mint flavor, and our kids' version has a natural water- melon flavor that's safe for toddlers who often haven't perfected their ability to spit just yet. We're also excited to have launched our new extra whitening paste with no peroxide. It uses a very gentle silica and calcium carbonate to safely and gently remove stains. Like all of our pastes, it tastes amazing. We're actively working on new products, so stay tuned. It's an exciting time at hello!
