A f t e r m a r k e t D a i l y N e w s T h u r s d a y, N o v e m b e r 5 , 2 0 1 5 9 2 introduction to Gryphon Corporation? AY: Gryphon Corporation was estab- lished in 2005 and based in Brea, California. We are a manufacturer of diversified product categories including portable lithium battery jump starters, floor liners and portable Bluetooth speakers. Some awards that we've received include the SEMA Global Media Awards, CES Innovation Honoree Awards and the Red Dot Design Award. We are also the original inventors of portable lithium jump starters and hold multiple U.S. Design and Utility Patents for such products. ADN: What would you say makes your company unique? AY: We are unique because we don't focus only on one specific industry. When we originally started we manufac- tured mobile rear seat entertainment sys- tems, then in late 2011 we started research and development and produc- tion of lithium battery jump starters. Last year we started research and develop- ment on vehicle specific floor liners and premium outdoor Bluetooth speakers. We are a diversified manufacturer of products for different industries. ADN: Are you introducing any new products this year? AY: Yes, this year at SEMA we're launching Tekmats vehicle floor liners. We develop our products using a unique material composition. Our floor liners are 100 percent perfect fitment, completely odor free, anti-scuff proof, crease free from folding, oil free texture for 100 per- cent easy dry up and cleaning. Tekmats is the only product that combines all these features in one. For more information, SEMA attendees can come visit us at our booth in the Las Vegas Convention Gryphon Corporation (Cont'd. from p. 1) Center, North Hall at booth #11923. ADN: Can you compare your products against the current market? AY: Our main product, Powerall, portable lithium battery jump starters, are the safest and most reliable. We only use premium quality batteries and compo- nents manufactured by Vishay Technologies, Texas Instruments and Samsung, to name a few. Our lithium jump starters have complete safety pro- tection features, such as reverse polarity, spark proof, over current, short circuit, over charging and our industry-exclusive feature, Voltage Current Back-Feed Protection. This protection blocks the voltage current back-feeding into our jump starter from the vehicle alternator after it has started, so you don't have to rush to disconnect the cables within three to 10 seconds. ADN: To what do you attribute your company's success? AY: We definitely attribute our company's success to three things: our people, our customers and our products. First is our people; everyone that works at the compa- ny is an extended member of our family. Over the past 10 years since we started, we've retained 90 percent of our family and hope to continue doing so for many years to come. Second is our loyal cus- tomers, whom we consider all to be our partners. They have been extremely loyal over the past years and have continued to embrace our different products, which in turn have helped them to also expand and grow their businesses into different mar- kets and reach a wider and more diverse customer audience. Last is our products, we offer the best in the industry, 12 months exchange for new replacement product to all of our customers. For more information, visit booth #11923 or call 888.903.8777. AA: In 2016, RJ Star, Inc., doing busi- ness as Wizards Products, will reach a milestone; we will celebrate our 30th anniversary. In that time, we have defined our market by manufacturing exceptional quality detailing, buffing and polishing products with performance sec- ond to none. Wizards can be found nationally in body shops, parts stores and boutique locations. We are a leader in the motorcycle industry with our complete motorcycle product line. You can also find our quality products in the marine, aviation and trucking industries. ADN: Where are you located? AA: Our corporate offices are in Hanover, Minnesota. We relocated here in 1994 from New Ulm, Minnesota to expand our manufacturing capabilities and facilitate our shipping process. ADN: Are you introducing any new products at SEMA this year? AA: Yes we are. My business partner, John Schlumpberger, has worked dili- gently to bring the perfect polishing sys- tem to market. We are introducing The Wizard 21 Big Throw Polisher. Used with our Scratch & Swirl Removal Kit, you will achieve a flawless finish without fear of burning the paint. Listening to our customers' needs is the key to our longevity and success; we have an extremely strong following among enthusiasts in the classic and collector car market as well as custom motorcycle builders. John started his career as a body shop owner and custom painter. The premise that we founded the business on Wizards Products (Cont'd. from p. 1) was to create easy to use products, with simplistic application that left behind the ultimate finish. Stop by the booth and we will show why this system is so unique and functional and why everyone will want one on their workbench! Based on customer demand, we are also introducing our best selling Mystic Spray Wax in an eight-ounce spray bot- tle. We originally introduced it in our standard 22-ounce spray bottle and the gallon refill size. ADN: Are you having any celebrity appearances at SEMA this year? AA: Stacey David, the host of the TV series "GearZ," will be signing auto- graphs on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. We will also have the legendary Harley Davidson Drag Racer, Ray Price — aka The Father of the Funny Bike — in our booth on Thursday from 10 a.m. Until 12 p.m. ADN: What's new and exciting on the horizon for Wizards? AA: We spent the last year building a new, one-of-a-kind studio for shooting new training videos, as well as hosting guest appearances. The studio and sur- rounding area are loaded with authentic memorabilia collected from our travels across the country. We will also be focused on developing a stronger social media presence in 2016. Along wvith the studio we built a new training center and conference room for hands-on product demonstrations and educational purposes. CONNECTED MULTIMEDIA RECEIVER GETS IMPROVED MAPPING, MIRACAST COMPATIBILITY Kenwood USA, producer of premium in- vehicle mobile electronics products, is introducing the successor to its popular DNN991HD connected receiver. The DNN992 improves upon last year's model with updated mapping software by Garmin™, parking guides for a connected rear-view camera, better source multitask- ing and the ability to wirelessly play smart- phone-based audio and video using Kenwood's KCA-WL100 Miracast dongle. "Our goal with the DNN series has been to lead the industry in bringing con- nected services safely to the driver," said Tony Mercado, Marketing Manager for Kenwood. "Using our proprietary server, we can quickly deliver entertainment, communications and information to the DNN unit and employ the latest in voice, display and touch technology to let the driver interact while staying focused on the road." The DNN992 by Kenwood lever- ages the connected experience to provide users with safe, intuitive delivery of Web-based information. In addition to standard features offered by an in-dash radio, the DNN992 uses its Wi-Fi con- nection or broadband access via connect- ed smartphone to deliver next-generation drive-centric data. The built-in naviga- tion system is bolstered with information from INRIX, including weather, dynamic traffic flow, fuel locations and pricing and local search for amenities. In addi- tion, the DNN992 features direct-access apps to play Internet-based content from iHeartRadio™ and Aupeo. The DNN992 keeps users safely connected to email, social media contacts and scheduled appointments. Built-in browsers work with a user's Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and Google Calendar accounts, letting the user send and receive updates via voice. But connectivity doesn't apply only to Internet-based services. The double- DIN chassis with 7-inch capacitive touch screen accommodates a multitude of internal and add-on media sources. Connect up to two cameras (front and rear) to aid in maneuvering, and avoid obstacles when backing up with on-screen parking lines. The DNN992 is also SiriusXM- Ready™ and con- nects to the latest SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (sold separately, subscription required), giving drivers access to SiriusXM ® content via satellite. Built in HD Radio also gives the driver access to premium over-the-air content, and slots for CD/DVD and SD cards let them bring their own media to the vehi- cle. Dual USB ports enable direct con- nection of an iPod ® , iPhone ® or USB storage drive to play back and control selection of music. For a more immersive experience with the smartphone, the DNN992 includes an HDMI input that also supports MHL (Mobile High- Definition Link) technology to give the user access to, and interaction with, com- patible apps on select Android™ smart- phones or the iPhone, such as Pandora ® and TuneIn Radio ® , through the multi- media receiver's screen. The HDMI/MHL connection also allows video content on the smartphone to play on the DNN992 or a connected rear-seat monitor. The DNN992 delivers a premium audio experi- ence from any connected or inbuilt source. Its 13- band equalizer and digital signal processor balance sound to the driver's pref- erence, and the Drive EQ+ function compensates for road noise by raising certain frequencies. Bluetooth functionality is infused with aptX, a sound processing technology that restores audio frequencies lost in the transmission of wireless audio. For system expansion, three sets of high-voltage, pre-amplified outputs can connect to external front, rear and subwoofer amplifiers.
