With its heavy duty product groups constantly growing, PEX is now offering extensive programs with com- petitive pricing for the heavy-duty after- market that include Electronic Brake Wear Sensors for Drum and Disc Brake applications, ABS Sensors, ABS Sensor Extension Cables and Engine Management Sensors. PEX has long been known for its OE Quality Electronic Brake Wear Sensors which it manufactures and distributes for Disc and Drum Brakes for heavy-duty trucks, buses, RVs and trailers for the U.S., Canadian and Mexican aftermarket out of its facility in Niceville, Florida. After having great success with quality and coverage of Brake Wear Sensors in passenger vehicles, PEX is now experi- encing the same in the heavy duty sector. Now that more and more transitions from Drum Brake to Disc Brake technology are taking place, the demand for PEX Brake Wear Sensors for heavy duty applications is rising. The successful introduction of PEX ABS Sensors for domestic, European and Asian applications for passenger vehicles in North America was followed by an offering of ABS Sensors for the heavy duty applications as well. PEX is intro- ducing the heavy duty ABS Sensor pro- gram with competitive pricing and cross references available to Bendix, Haldex, Meritor and Wabco to potential cus- tomers as a quality after- market alternative to OE after the vehicles are out of warranty. The heavy duty ABS Sensor program continues to grow as more and more references become avail- able. They are being distributed mostly with sleeves and grease in anti-static bags which not only protects the magnets and the chip set of the sensor if a customer stores them on metal shelves, but also immensely cuts down on storage space. For the product group of ABS Sensor extension cables, cross references are available to Bendix, Haldex and Wabco, which come in lengths of 1.6 feet (0.50m) to 56 feet (17.00m) for trucks and trailers. PEX is also offering Engine Management Sensors for heavy duty that include engine oil switches, oil/fuel pressure switches, coolant level sensors and exhaust temperature switches, with cross references available to Allison, Cummins, Detroit Diesel Corp., Freightliner, GM, Kenworth, Mack, Peterbilt and Volvo. With its OE manufacturing back- ground and highly trained quality assur- ance department, PEX strives for perfec- tion in every part to ensure customer sat- isfaction with form, fit and function, and is proud to deliver a high-quality alterna- tive to OE with the quality and reliability its customers expect and appreciate. THE NEW ERA OF RETRAX Retrax takes pride in its company's repu- tation for providing innovative and qual- ity products that are backed by superior customer service and prompt product availability. It has spent more than a decade focused on nothing else. It loves what it does. It's not just because it thrives on the disciplines of design, development and manufacturing. Mostly it's because it takes great satisfaction in striving for excellence in the retractable truck bed cover market. Scott Fuller, General Manager at Retrax, had this to say: "Retrax became a member of Truck Hero (formerly THI Inc.) about two years ago, and we have been able to dramatically increase our overall sales. The increase is due to the additional distribution channels opened up to us, the expansion and hard work of our sales associates, and of course the quality and desirability of the Retrax cov- ers. The fact that we've been able to han- dle this tremendous growth is testament to all of our hardworking and dedicated employees. Since we started our lean manufacturing journey in November of 2013, we have consistently (and continu- ously) improved our processes and elim- inated waste from our operations, all while offering the best retractable truck bed covers that money can buy." What's New with Retrax? Retrax is known for its legendary style and design in its retractable truck bed covers, and this year, it is introducing the brand new RetraxONE MX. The ONE MX combines the strong and durable sin- gle-piece polycarbonate material with a scratch-resistant matte black finish. The new finish has been well received by deal- ers across the country, and just like the other Retrax retractable covers, the low-profile design incorporates a front canister that is flush with the truck bed cover, streamlining the overall appearance and providing a firm and dependable seal to keep the truck bed dry. The ONE MX easily glides on its sealed ball bearings, making it one of the most easy-to-use retractable bed covers on the market, and its new matte finish gives it the look to match. They are increasingly targeting vehicles fitted with keyless entry systems, which allow driv- ers to start the car with the press of a but- ton as long as they have an electronic key fob that emits a code that the car recog- nizes. Criminals, however, have discov- ered a way to clone the key fob, allowing them to bypass the immobilizer system and to start the car. Experts say it highlights a major flaw in security. Manufacturers claim the problem is not a weakness in car securi- ty, but the failure of lawmakers to ban the sale of the devices that allow the thieves to gain entry to the vehicles before driv- ing them away. Criminals have devised a tech- nique that allows them to break into and drive away with some of the most expensive cars on the market. They use a high-tech device that can be easily bought easily on the Internet to get inside. They then use a second elec- tronic device also available online, to re-program a blank electronic key to start the vehicle. The whole process takes just minutes, and in some cases, just a few seconds. More than 1,000 stolen cars have been taken this way in the past year in London alone. The problem has become so severe that some insurers may refuse to give coverage if cars are parked on public streets. A spokesperson in the auto industry has stated, "Today's cars are not the weakest link in the security chain. Currently, the most pressing issue is the unli- censed and unmonitored access to security equipment, which can easily be pur- chased." With even the most secure factory or after-market security system now vulner- able, biometric technology provides a solution. Technology most people are now familiar with and use today every- where from workplace time clocks to Apple's iPhones and iPads, "fingerprint security" provides access and prevents theft, and is now available to the trans- portation industry. The BEST Anti-Theft System by Auto Secure USA only allows authorized users with enrolled live fingerprint to access the system to start your vehicle. The system may be enabled or disabled any time with a touch of your fingerprint. You may use the "Valet Mode" if you want to lend the vehicle to someone or just need to valet your vehicle, or enable up to 30 separate drivers that may be added or deleted as needed for family members or employ- ees. If anyone tries to start your vehicle without an authorized enrolled finger- print, it simply will not start. With BEST, your live fingerprint is the key. So be sure with Auto Secure. DJ PRODUCTS: PULL STALLED VEHICLES EASILY, SAFELY DJ Products of Minneapolis, manufactur- ers of walk-behind battery powered tugs and platform trucks, has introduced a new Vehicle Puller specifically designed for pulling vehicles easily, safely and efficiently without causing damage to the bumper or body of the vehicle in tight, confined areas. The CarCaddy Vehicle Puller is designed for automotive and truck repair centers, car dealers, body shops, manufacturers, auto museums, auctions and government highway serv- ice organizations. The most common applications that require a CarCaddy Vehicle Puller is the pulling of a stalled or non-operable vehi- cle in and out of a service center, the moving of a vehicle on a dealership show room floor or an auction house or muse- um, or at the end of an auto production line. The unit's power, size, maneuverability and price tag make it an extremely attrac- tive solution compared to alternative methods of moving wheeled vehicles in tight and confined areas. The CarCaddy Vehicle Puller has many unique fea- tures over other methods to relocate vehicles, including its hydraulic roller rams that effortlessly pull any two wheels of a vehicle up a ramp, off the ground, so the powered CarCaddyVP tug can easily and safely turn and maneuver the vehicle without the wheels of the vehicle moving. This operation eliminates the cumber- some straps, hooks and brackets needed to lift and pull a vehicle, or the "bumping" of the vehicle from behind with rubber push pads.
