BIG BOOST, CONVENIENT CUSTOMIZATION FROM BORGWARNER'S AIRWERKS TURBOCHARGERS If you're looking for a customizable replacement turbocharger, BorgWarner's latest AirWerks ® turbochargers are worth a close look. Eight new enhanced mod- els, designated by the "-E" in the model name, will be presented in booth #21643. The new models include two S200SX-E and six S300SX-E super cores (tur- bochargers without turbine housings). Loaded with features such as forged milled compressor wheels and pre- machined speed sensor and boost ports, these super cores deliver up to a three percent increase in compressor efficiency and up to 25 percent more flow within the same frame size. "BorgWarner's latest AirWerks series turbochargers are specifically engi- neered for performance car and truck enthusiasts," said Seth Temple, Senior Applications Engineer at BorgWarner Turbo Systems. "These SX-E super cores deliver increased power capability and customization options while maintaining the small package our customers have asked for." The new SX-E models incorporate BorgWarner's extended tip technology, which enables a smaller wheel to perform like a larger wheel, but with reduced spool time. Forging the compressor wheel before milling also adds strength and durability, giving customers a robust product. "Customer input is a vital component in the design of many of our new performance tur- bochargers," said Temple. "Another cus- tomer-suggested feature is the 360- degree thrust bearing, found in the S300SX-E. The thrust bearing controls the axial load of the rotating assembly. Previous designs had a 270-degree range of load-carrying area. A full 360 degrees gives us more contact surface area for improved thrust capability and longer turbocharger life." Several features provide opportuni- ties for convenient customization. Fine- tuning the setup is easier and less costly with pre-machined speed sensor and boost port bosses. Compressor inlet and outlet connections fit standard filters and hoses. S300SX-E super cores also include flexible dual outlet machining for a V-band or hose connection. The super core con- figuration — a turbocharger without a turbine housing — allows performance distributors to optimize inventory and gives car enthusiasts more opportunities for cus- tomization. Having a series of two gaps on the firing end allows this plug to function in two different man- ners depending on the environment in the combustion chamber at the given point in time. This plug has the abilities to fire a series of two sparks per ignition impulse or emit a very large single spark. Brisk Premium Evo design's unique firing end configuration better uti- lizes the fuel energy. This increas- es fuel efficiency and helps elimi- nate combustion imperfections with new and old engines. The patented coating technology of the auxiliary electrode at the tip of the insulator ensures the unique prop- erties of the spark plug.
