A f t e r m a r k e t D a i l y N e w s W e d n e s d a y, N o v e m b e r 4 , 2 0 1 5 1 2 PRORYDE COMPLETES NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART R&D FACILITY ProRyde Suspension Systems, developer of patented adjustable lift kits and level- ing kits, announces the completion of its new state-of-the-art research and devel- opment facility in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Product design and innova- tion has been a major component to ProRyde's success, and it appears this new facility will only help to ensure that this business model carries on long into the future. The new 1,000 square foot, two-bay research and development center features the latest technology, including a top-of- the-line Hunter Engineering Company HawkEye Elite Alignment System, as well as a Hunter Engineering Company scissor lift. This equipment is capable of handling the largest eight-lug diesel trucks, even if it has dual rear wheels. Having this technology available during the research and development phase of designing new products ensures that all suspen- sion geometry charac- teristics, clearances and tolerances are taken into account to assure only the best product outcomes. The new facility will also serve as a training center for ProRyde sales staff, as well as for ProRyde customers looking for extensive product training. ProRyde products offer a wide range of vehicle coverage with a low number of SKUs, all possible due to patented adjustable lift and leveling tech- nology. ProRyde prod- ucts are available for most all popular McPherson Strut, Torsion Bar, Coil Spring and Leaf Spring Suspensions and its products have been rec- ognized as a SEMA Best New Offroad/4x4 Product of the Year. ACDELCO CLEARS THE AIR ON REPLACEMENT CABIN AIR FILTERS While automakers have been incorporat- ing cabin air filters into their new vehi- cles for years, many consumers still aren't aware of their existence, much less their benefits. ACDelco intends to change that with the launch of 190 new Professional cabin filter applications that cover most makes and models on the road today. These competitively priced, high-quality and durable filters meet or exceed original equipment specifications, and comple- ment ACDelco's existing portfolio of GM OE cabin air filters. Fall is an excellent time for after- market professionals to educate con- sumers about the importance of cabin air filters; they're already preparing their vehicles for winter and residen- tial HVAC maintenance is also on their mind. Highly Effective, Low Awareness About 30 million vehicles in service today are equipped with cabin air filters, and some even have more than one filter. Consumers should understand the role cabin air filters play in reducing or block- ing odor-causing contaminants — as well as pollen, dust, pollutants in vehicle emissions and even insects and leaves — from the vehicle's interior. Just as it's hard for someone to run a race if he can't breathe, or efficiently operate a furnace with a clogged filter, a vehicle's dirty or clogged cabin air filter can affect air quality and passenger com- fort. Not All Filters are Alike Because no one should take shortcuts when it comes to your customers' vehicle cabin air quality, ACDelco goes the extra mile to ensure quality construction and perform- ance. Long media is used in the filter's non-woven material to capture more par- ticles while increasing airflow. The com- pound media portion of the filter consists of three layers: the outside layer captures 100 percent of large, airborne particles, the middle layer captures smaller parti- cles and the final layer provides strength and stability. Layered construction cre- ates "separated" media to better contain dust and pollen particles for higher effi- ciency. ACDelco provides OE fit, form and function and never "universal" appli- cations to ensure the right fit for the right vehicle. ACDelco OE and Professional cabin air filters carry a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty. Maintaining and Replacing Cabin Air Filters Some customers who are aware they have a cabin air fil- ter may be tempted to change it themselves, but it can be dif- ficult, depending on the vehicle. ACDelco recommends service centers offer to inspect the cabin air filter or filters as part of a multi-point vehicle inspection or oil change. Keep a dirty filter on hand to show customers how important they are. Filters should be replaced according to the owner's manual (most recommend every 12,000 to 15,000 miles) but con- sumers who live on dirt roads, drive in heavy traffic or are highly allergic may choose more frequent replacements. IMPROVE SAFETY, EFFICIENCY BY SWITCHING TO TASK-BASED WIPERS You would never consider writing a letter with a pair of scissors, so why would you use a product in your shop that isn't designed for the task at hand? Even for seemingly basic tasks like wiping, clean- ing or polishing a surface, using task- designed products can not only save time and energy, and improve safety and hygiene, but also save money over time. For example, the use of rental towels and rags is quite risky, given that they are often reused and recycled. One towel can make its way through a variety of indus- tries, perform several unrelated tasks and pick up a mix of contaminants along the way before arriving in your facility for use. It is common to find grease and sol- vents and even metal shavings on the towels and rags, which can damage vehi- cles and ultimately tarnish business results. In order to avoid this issue, seek a better performing solution with Tork task-based disposable wipers, such as the Tork Industrial Cleaning Cloth. Disposable wipers provide end-users with a fresh, clean and hygienic wiper every time, free from any impurities or residue. Findings from a recent study com- paring the performance of Tork Cleaning Cloths with rental towels and rags reiterate the benefits of using the right product for the task. First, by using cleaning cloths that are specifically designed for the task at hand, whether it be wiping, cleaning or polishing, you'll save in both time and effort. In fact, using a disposable cleaning cloth requires up to 20 percent less effort, up to 23 percent less time and up to 40 percent less solvent to complete a task compared with rags and rental cloths (panel test conducted by Swerea Research Institute, Sweden, 2014). Tork wipers take up to 80 percent less space than rags or rental shop towels, and as such, savings can be real- ized in transportation, storage and disposal of disposable wipers. Lastly, using products that are both designed and packaged for the task at hand can result in a more efficient workplace. Dispensers can be mounted in a convenient location or are mobile when necessary. They protect the wipers from contamination and splatter and dispense them one at a time, minimizing waste. Tork purpose-made wipers provide real value you can test. Visit the Tork booth during AAPEX at booth #3252 and during SEMA at booth #11113.
