The unit accepts up to four HD-SDI programs + one spare and simul- taneously outputs in the following for- mats: 4xQAM, 4xIP Streams (1000Base- T Ethernet), and 4xASI. To improve transport efficiency, the encoder allows operators to assign up to four programs to each QAM output channel, and to indi- vidually turn on/off each of the four adja- cent QAM output channels. The encoder supports Dolby ® Digital and Closed Captioning (EIA-608 and EIA-708). It is also equipped with an Emergency Alert System (EAS) interface. A front-panel RF test point allows for monitoring/testing of the QAM output without service interrup- tion. Comprehensive remote monitoring and control is accomplished using a stan- dard Web browser via a front-panel 1000BaseT Ethernet connection. Features include: accepts up to four programs: 4xHD- SDI; supports HD-SDI input loop through for monitoring; simultaneously delivers the following outputs: 4xQAM, 4xIP (SPTS), and 4xASI; multiplexes up to four input programs in any of the fol- lowing output combinations: (i) 1:1 (1 program per QAM channel), (ii) 2:1 (2 programs per QAM channel, not exceed- ing 38.8Mbps); each of the four QAM channels can contain up to two programs, and be turned on/off individually; pro- vides 40 dBmV QAM output level for four combined channels; provides com- prehensive GUI-based monitoring and control via a standard Web browser; sup- ports Closed Captioning EIA-608 and EIA-708; equipped with EAS interface (Analog Video + L/R Audio); sup- ports Real-time Dolby ® Digital audio encoding (Optional Dolby 5.1 audio pass-through); supports user-defined PSIP configuration; and, optional -48 VDC powering.
