Dexas International Ltd. has announced an impressive array of new items that will debut at the 2013 International Home + Housewares Show. "We have at least a dozen new items for the show," said Freed Toll, Vice President of Sales. "We're expanding our salad offerings, led by the Turbo Fan Salad Spinner-Dryer and our unique Spoon & Strain serving tongs." The Turbo Fan's impeller blades greatly speed up the prep of leafy greens, along with berries and other fresh vegeta- bles. It features 100 percent more airflow through the spinner basket than any other spinner. Rinsed greens can be plated right away with no additional drying, as all dirty rinse water is expelled through ports along the base of the outer bowl. Dexas has created other new salad preparation tools: the Spoon & Strain™ Tongs has an ergonomic shape and soft- grip handles, replaces several serving tools. One side is uniquely slotted for draining of liquids, while the other side is solid and can be used to spoon on con- trolled amounts of salad dressings or pasta sauces. The Leafy Greens Mezzaluna is based on the classic chef's tool, it speeds prep of raw, leafy greens for salads or the skillet. Dexas' large capacity collapsible sil- icone colanders and strainers now feature a 40 percent larger capacity. The new sil- icone colander holds four quarts and the hand-held strainer holds more than seven cups. Both are ideal for rinsing fresh pro- duce and draining hot liquids. To stimulate healthier food choices, Dexas offers new gadgets and cutting boards: The Collapsible KlipScoop™ for portion control is used with the mindset that a healthy diet begins with eating proper portion sizes. The KlipScoop is sev- eral tools in one: it collapses flat and clamps securely to keep bulk food bags closed, then pops open and transforms into a measuring cup – ½ -cup and 1-cup sizes. Along with chili pepper and grapes non-slip shaped cutting boards, Dexas offers Contour Cutting Boards with a completely new, shaped design with dis- tinctive curved ends and a patented, raised, non-slip TPE edge in trend-for- ward colors. The Pot & Cutting Board Scraper has a new size for a pot scraper and with a shaped handle, it doubles as a food scoop for clearing and directing chopped food on cutting boards. Citrus Coasters are based on the design of Dexas' fruit-shaped cutting boards, these distinctive poly coasters have the same raised TPE, non-slip edge that keeps the coaster in place while cre- ating a barrier for condensation. Continuing the Dexas leadership in 100 percent silicone design and function, Dexas' heavy duty silicone trivets are designed to look like the grates on top of professional gas stoves, a ¾-inch elevation protects tables and countertops, perfect for all cast-iron, ceramic and glass cookware. The king-size silicone ice cube tray now has a king-size 2-inch cube in the same space-saving, stackable design. The Mini-Mitt XL completely pro- tects the hand and forearm with high- heat-resistant silicone, while the raised nibs channel heat away from fingers. It is ideal for larger ovens and grills. Founded in 1969, Dexas is proud to be the largest in-house manufacturer of cutting boards in the U.S.A. Dexas designs and manufactures kitchen tools, gadgets and specialty products that stim- ulate culinary creativity and healthier eating at home. Dexas will be exhibiting in the South Hall, at booth S137. For more informa- tion, visit www.dexas.com. DEXAS DEBUTS MORE THAN A DOZEN NEW ITEMS IS A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP AN ELUSIVE DREAM? These days, it seems like more and more people are spending less and less time asleep. In addition, they are also getting a lower quality of sleep. Surveys state that almost 40 percent of people get less than seven hours of sleep each night. This is an ongoing trend and it takes a toll on the public's health. The problem for many is overheating or "nightsweats." The constant fluctua- tions in body temperature, alternating between too hot and too cold, make get- ting a deep and restful sleep an elusive dream for many. Even under normal conditions, the body experiences slight drops in body temperature right before falling to sleep. With traditional bed sheets, body heat can be trapped, causing the sleeper to feel too hot. In order to address the limitations of traditional sheets, Casual Home Linens is very excited to announce a brand-new line of ultra high quality luxury bed linens, specifically engineered to help the con- sumer get a better night's sleep. Designed right from the beginning to offer much better breathability, these linens allow the body to maintain opti- mum temperatures throughout the night. By combining state of the art manufactur- ing techniques with the finest high tech breathable fabrics called Dri-Silk, Casual Home bed linens offer the following advantages: Excellent Temperature Control Made by a unique process called "NanoWeave," Casual Home Sheets are twice as effective as traditional bedding at transferring body heat, for a deeper and more refreshing sleep. This high tech weaving also results in a sheet that is anti-static, anti-bacterial, anti- odor and anti-pilling. Luxurious Feel For the discerning buyer of premium linens, Casual Home sheets offer an amaz- ingly soft feel, for the ultimate in comfort. High tech materials deliver a sleeping experience unmatched by any traditional sheet. Moisture Wicking The unique woven design transfers mois- ture away from the body, giving a dry and comfortable feeling all night long. Durability The advanced design results in a sheet that is incredibly durable and resistant to stain- ing, fading and wrin- kling. It is a well-known fact that getting a deep and restful sleep is critical to one's health, performance and well-being. Casual Home Linens believes that the key to achieving this starts with high perform- ance bed linens. Visit booth N6648 for complete information. KYOCERA ELECTRIC CERAMIC KNIFE SHARPENER ADDS TO KYOCERA CERAMIC CUTLERY ADVANTAGE A knife that is always sharper is always better. It cuts more efficiently, and it requires less effort. Renowned for its super-sharp ceramic blades with superior edge retention, Kyocera presents the new electric ceramic knife sharp- ener for home cooking enthusiasts who always want the best. This battery powered ceramic knife sharpener features an electric diamond grind- ing stone that can shave up to 0.5 mm off a blade, achieving a 35-degree angle. Kyocera's proprietary advanced ceramic is a pure, dense, unrelenting material that is 50 percent harder than steel and second only to diamonds in hardness. For this reason, a dia- mond grinding stone must be used to re-sharp- en and refresh the knives. The Kyocera electric ceramic knife sharpener is efficient and easy to use. Designed to be user-friendly and safe, it fea- tures a knife guide slot to keep the knife at a fixed angle. The assist roller presents over- sharpening while controlling even pressure.
