We're the original ginger company, yet we still offer a trendy, innovative flavor. And people keep discovering our health benefits. On top of representing a great product, The Ginger People is a family-based enterprise. There aren't many of those out there anymore! GNSE: To what do you attribute your company's success? We took inspiration from two of our favorite entertaining beverages, beer and wine. We used the classic pairings of cheese and beer, along with cheese and wine, to create three savory dips. The new gourmet cheese dips include: Italian Herb & Wine Mascarpone Cheese Dip, Peppadew® & Lager Cheese Dip, and Pub Style Beer & Mustard Cheese Dip. GNSD: You mentioned new seasonal items, what are they? JG: Dark Chocolate Peppermint Sauce, Gourmet Cranberry Sauce, Maple Brown Sugar Ham Glaze and Pumpkin Curd. GNSD: In January you launched a new dry mix category. Will we see any additions to that category? JG: Yes, we are introducing three new dry mixes: Classic Shortbread Cookies, Double Chocolate Fudge Brownies and Pub Style Pretzel Bread. To make Brownie Crunch, Greenberg selected Greyston Bakery because they provide employment and training to economically disadvantaged residents of Yonkers, N.Y. "Having Greyston as a business partner means not only that we get a great-tasting brownie, but we also get to support the good work they do to create economic opportunity in their community," said Greenberg. Brownie Crunch has already added twenty jobs to Greyston's payroll, with more to come. Greenberg strives to develop lasting relationships with suppliers. As new flavors are developed – growing from three to eight flavors in just one year – he knows they can then turn to trusted partners to source the finest ingredients and deliver the best possible Brownie Crunch to consumers, and all at only 120 calories per one-ounce serving. The brand also offers great promotional support programs for retailers, from its distinctive packaging design and fun, informational website, advertising and public relations, to demo and sampling programs. Not just for out-of-hand snacking, this versatile treat brings a lot to the table. Whether using the Brownie Crunch as a topping on ice cream or creating signature parfait desserts, there's something amazing for every taste and gathering, which increases occasions for consumer usage and drives demand. Where's your favorite place? Mr. K: Nudity comes naturally to me, so when the boss asked me if I would strip for our newest product: BARE "Uncrystallized" Ginger, I was happy to add it to my resume. We'll also be showing off our new range of organic food Mr. K: Ginger grows in some gorgeous spots! Since the mid '80s, we've traveled to all the premiere ginger growing regions of the world. Given it's a tropical crop, we can't grow it in the continental U.S. Well, not commercially anyway. So we source ginger where it grows best. We get lots of fresh ginger from the coastal provinces of China (the home of ginger), Peru (really spicy), Fiji (not so spicy) and Indonesia (perfect flavor for our award-winning Gin Gins® ginger candies). We buy both conventional and organic fresh ginger from the farmers, and follow a strict quality assurance protocol. Then we pers and magazines sounded its praises, customers told their friends and its popularity spread nationwide. A visit to Sarabeth's restaurants was not complete until you tried the tomato soup. Although many customers and food magazines clamored and cajoled for the recipe, Sarabeth stubbornly refused to reveal it. Several years ago, Sarabeth was able to produce the exact same soup and make it available to the public through commercial channels. Under the supervision of Sarabeth, it is produced in a pristine, HACCP-approved plant and distributed frozen. Retailers store the soup frozen and offer it for sale in the refrigerated deli section, where it has a 50 day shelf life prior to opening. Recently, the cooking directions were changed on the packaging, no longer recommending the soup be microwaved for heating. If warmed and allowed to simmer slowly in the pot for 5 to 10 minutes, the soup reaches its full flavor. These new cooking directions have resulted in the tomato soup being chosen as finalist in the 2013 sofi "Outstanding Soup, Stew, Bean or Chili" category. Here are some of the notable quotes about the Sarabeth's legendary velvety cream of tomato soup: The New York Times: "The tomato soup, GNSE: We understand you posed nude for your newest product. Mr. K: You're right: 6000 years is a long time! Ginger is one of the world's original spices, yet it keeps reinventing itself. It's still fresh and exciting and fun. Don't even get me started about how it's one of the world's top superfoods. As an ingredient, it just makes everything taste better. I attribute its longevity to two things: culinary versatility and a seemingly endless resume of health benefits. It's so good for you! Gourmet Magazine: "Sarabeth's velvety cream of tomato soup is a chunky, slightly thick bowl of roughly chopped tomato with warm oniony accents and traces of scallion, all suspended in cream.
