Construction Marketplace Thursday, January 12, 2017 5 6 Product Certification program for North America, certifying plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas products to the requirements of International, Uniform and Canadian Codes and Standards. ICC-ES PMG is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Standard Council of Canada (SCC) and can offer listings to meet all manufacturer certification needs in the United States and Canada. In addition, ICC-ES PMG is also licensed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to certify water-effi- cient products under the WaterSense ® program. CM: What is product certification? DL: Product certification is a review of products against a standard, a criteria or a code to ensure continuous compliance of products. Certification steps include review of products, periodic inspection of plants (by an ISO/IEC17020 accredit- ed agency) and periodic review of sub- mitted information against new or revised standards. CM: What accreditation does ICC-ES PMG have? DL: ICC-ES PMG is accredited as a product certifier by both the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). ICC-ES PMG is the most widely accept- ed and trusted leading program in the U.S and Canada. CM: What are the benefits of having an ICC-ES PMG listing? DL: An ICC-ES PMG listing provides comprehensive product evaluation to applicable codes and standards. There is no charge for additional company list- ings, no warehouse inspections – on factories where product is manufac- tured. Licensed by the EPA to certify water-efficient products under the WaterSense ® Program, licensed by California and Federal lead laws, NSF/ANSI 372 of NSF ANSI 61. An ICC-ES (Cont'd. from p. 1) ICC-ES PMG listing is evidence to prove your product complies with code and standards. CM: What sets ICC-ES PMG Apart? DL: ICC-ES PMG upholds the highest standards for safety and reliability, and provides a one-stop shop for the evalua- tion, listing and now testing of innovative building products through our newly formed cooperation with Innovation Research Labs, a highly respected ISO 17025 accredited testing lab with over 50 years of experience. It provides expedit- ed certification for all client listings and is low cost. It is the only entity with direct contact with IPC, IRC, IMC, IFGC code development staff. There is no sep- arate listing for NSF 61. ICC-ES PMG is the only evaluation service entity who is a part of an entity (International Code Council ® ) who publishes the building code for the nation. About ICC-ES A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States' leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems. ICC-ES Evaluation Reports (ESRs), Building Product Listings and PMG Listings provide evidence that products and systems meet require- ments of codes and technical stan- dards. The ICC-ES Environmental Programs issue VAR environmental reports that verify a product meets spe- cific sustainability targets defined by today's codes, standards, green rating systems and ICC-ES environmental criteria. The Environmental Programs now offer Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), to meet global market demand for science-based, transparent, quality-assured informa- tion about a product's environmental performance. ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council (ICC). Visit ICC-ES at IBS booth #W6283 and KBIS booth #W681. I started making windows and doors upon completing my mechanical engineering degree. I fell in love with doing this some 40 years ago, and to this day I love it so very much. CM: What makes America Italiana exceptional? PG: Everything is fine craftsmanship with attention to beautiful detail – like a tailor who makes clothes to fit the person and the personality – everything's possi- ble and custom-built to suit. A symphony needs to play in unison or everything's out of tune – just as your windows and doors should be in coordination with your home. Many things are involved. One needs to see the showroom – people need to see everything, see all that's possible – ask questions – in order to create the best fit. Connecting with everyone and everything, i.e. the con- tractor and architect – it's all important. It's about creating this magic that America Italiana (Cont'd. from p. 1) makes it, in the end, indeed very special for your home. CM: What do you love most about what you do? PG: That the people love what we do. For that, we are grateful. We hear this all the time: "This is so amazing … Why is it I have not heard about this before? … How come I never knew you were here?" We also hear this: "This is even more beautiful than we thought it would be." We follow the client from begin- ning to completion. We love what we do, and what we can do – and the hap- piness it brings to everyone for a long time. It's all custom-made. It's all hand- crafted in Italy. You cannot find what we do, at this level, anywhere else in the U.S. It is truly a work of art and a passion of love. With pride, this is something that our wonderful clients, and their beautiful homes, come to expect and appreciate … and so do we. The software outperforms all other design tools on custom high-end residential units. At this year's show, you will learn how easy it is to create a customizable and profitable design workflow tailored to your needs. Firms who use ARCHICAD have a modeling solution that streamlines design, improves efficiency and helps them win clients. ARCHICAD models store and manage crucial information from the beginning, even that which was not created using CAD or BIM tools. In situations where a consultant works in another software, ARCHICAD can import and use their data. You can do all your design in ARCHICAD from conceptual, schematic to completion. As rough ideas take shape in the software you are building a useable model, not wasting hours making changes that will never find their way into your final design – or worse, that will create costly errors and clashes. ARCHICAD gives you compelling advantages over a 2D CAD solution – operating on a building focused, 3D model-based design platform. For remodeling and home expansion proj- ects, ARCHICAD supplies a built-in ren- ovation tool. Users can coordinate all documentation and create integrated pre- sentations for client meetings. One of the biggest benefits of ARCHICAD (Cont'd. from p. 1) ARCHICAD is the ability to maintain accuracy with up to date calculations. ARCHICAD tools can respond to design elements, aspects of the site that might affect the home, such as slope or landscape features. Because the model responds to changes on the fly, knowing how even a minor design element change has an impact on a project budg- et instantly saves time and increases productivity. By the same token, ARCHICAD makes it easier for you to pinpoint problems early on in the design process. Homebuilders have to present their design ideas to people who have varying levels of understanding about plans, ele- vations and architecture. Visual commu- nication is where the value of ARCHI- CAD shines; its visualization options make it easy for the layperson to under- stand design possibilities. The award-winning mobile presenta- tion app BIMx brings any model out into the field or the home/office of a potential client. Customers can even download BIMx to their iPad, tablet or smartphone and show their new home to family and friends. The Virtual Reality tours wow customers via Google Cardboard on mobile devices. BIMx with Google Cardboard makes it possible to create stunning presentations that bring designs to life.
