Construction Marketplace 9 Thursday, January 12, 2017 SEAL-ONCE MULTI-SURFACE CONCENTRATE: AN ECO-FRIENDLY WATERPROOFING SEALER Seal-Once ® Multi-Surface Concentrate is an eco-friendly waterproofing sealer for wood, concrete/masonry and composite decking. Its proprietary nano-technology allows Seal-Once to protect the substrate by sealing it from the inside out. This revolutionary breakthrough allows Seal- Once to deeply penetrate the surface, forming a flexible polymer barrier that becomes part of the cellular structure. From horse stables to commercial parking ramps, Seal-Once helps to prevent mold and mildew, dry rot, cracking, concrete corrosion and spalling. Seal-Once provides long lasting protection against water damage and comes with a 10 year warranty for vertical surfaces and a six year warranty for horizontal surfaces. CHOOSING A LOADING RAMP Whether you're transporting personal lawn care equipment or finding ways to improve efficiencies at your delivery business, you need a safe, sturdy and affordable loading solution. With so many loading ramps to choose from, how do you determine which one is right for you or your business? EZ- ACCESS understands the conundrum and can help you with these three simple questions: What are you planning on loading? If you are loading machinery such as a lawn mower, you would need to know how much the lawn mower weighs and then add the estimated weight of a full tank of gas. You'll also need to know how wide the equipment is. If you are using the loading ramp to carry heavy items across it, you'll need to factor in your weight as well as the maximum weight of the items you'll be carrying to be on the safe side. With weight capacities up to 1,200 pounds and an optional wheel kit, the TRAVERSE Walk Ramp is the perfect solution for tasks in furniture or equip- ment delivery as well as lawn care equip- ment transportation. What will you be loading into? Another important factor is the height of the highest level you'll be using your loading ramp on. This will deter- mine the length of loading ramp you need in order to keep yourself at a safe incline ratio of 1:12. To calculate your incline and find the length of ramp needed, use the EZ-ACCESS incline calculator. The TRAVERSE Walk Ramp is available in 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, 12- and 14-foot lengths with a 30- inch usable width. What will the conditions be like when you're using the loading ramp? In addition to knowing what you're load- ing and how you're loading it, you'll also need to know if the loading ramp will be exposed to the outdoor elements on a reg- ular basis. This will help you determine what type of grip and coating you'll need on your loading ramp for safe use. The TRAVERSE Walk Ramp offers an extruded, slip-resistant surface. Also available is powder coating, which allows you to change the aluminum ramp to the color of your choosing. If you have questions about which industrial ramp will meet your needs, give the EZ-ACCESS industrial/commercial department a call at 888.362.8612. Visit EZ-ACCESS at booth #S1447. FIRST GOODMAN AC UNIT ROLLS OFF NEW ASSEMBLY LINE Loud applause erupted at the brand new Daikin Texas Technology Park when Goodman Chief Executive Officer and President Takeshi Ebisu affixed a badge to the first Goodman ® air conditioning unit to roll off an assembly line at the $417 million campus. For Ebisu and the hundreds of Goodman team employees surrounding the assembly line, it was a time to celebrate a milestone in the works since the HVAC manufacturer announced in January 2015 it would build a state-of-the-art facility just outside Northwest Houston. The huge campus is expected to employ more than 5,000 people as part of Daikin's global commitment to support in-country design, engineering and assembly. Goodman, a member of the Daikin group, is in the process of moving all of its U.S. operations to the new Texas campus. "The new business campus will pro- vide many outstanding benefits to our customers," stated Ebisu. "The opera- tional efficiencies we achieve will be reflected in the superb quality of our high-efficiency, energy-saving heating and cooling systems. As the leading glob- al HVAC manufacturer, we are excited about the outstanding value that this move will bring to our cur- rent and future cus- tomers. We see this new business campus as a strong, long-term commitment to our customers in North America," said Ebisu. The facility is now the world's largest tilt wall building, according to the Tilt Wall Building Association. Nearing completion, Daikin Texas Technology Park will eventually encompass 4.1 mil- lion operational square feet – about the size of 74 football fields, end zones included. JD: ProServices is the arm of Lowe's that works with contractors, repair remodelers and specialty tradesmen, as well as property management profes- sionals, colleges and universities, K-12 education and facility maintenance pro- fessionals. All 1,750-plus store loca- tions have a dedicated ProServices team to manage Pro customers' busi- ness from quoting, picking orders, get- ting you out of the store quickly and even dedicated loaders. ProServices can even meet you at your jobsite, office or facility to help you with your business needs. CM: Tell our readers about your rela- tionship with NAHB. JD: Lowe's partnership with the NAHB began in the 1950s locally with the North Carolina Home Builders' Association and has continued to grow through the decades. Lowe's is one of the largest sup- porters of the Association as well as the International Builders' Show. Lowe's is also a sponsor of NAHB Education, because we believe if the trades remain up to date on new technologies and tech- niques, then homes and commercial buildings will continue to be built to the highest standard. This falls within our purpose of helping our customers love where they live. CM: What is new and exciting about Pro? JD: Recently, we launched our e-commerce capability in www.lowesforpros.com and we continue to further build out our capabilities to be able to reach our Pro customers whenever and wherever they choose, by offering Pro exclusive promotions they can't get any- where else. Lowe's continues to add Pro specific brands, recently adding Marshalltown tools, Vaughn Hammers and Sika Pro Products; this builds on the work we did in 2015 by bringing in the brands of Sherwin-Williams, and GAF. Also, Lowe's continues to drive aware- ness of our 'Buy In Bulk' strategy, where Pro customers can purchase bulk quanti- ties of any products and receive custom pricing on orders of $1,500 or more. We also have 'Contractor Packs' on more than 2,000 items that can save Pro cus- tomers 5 percent to 50 percent when the minimum quantity is purchased, and we have continued to build out our 'Bulk Pack' offering for cases of products available both in store and online. CM: What is one thing you want NAHB members to know they can get at Lowe's that they cannot get anywhere else? JD: Lowe's ProServices has an exclusive program not offered anywhere else with members of the NAHB. When members sign up for a Lowe's Business Credit Account or Lowe's Accounts Receivable, they get an additional 2 percent off their billing statement on top of the 5 percent everyday in-store and online discount. As an added benefit, members with credit also receive free delivery on all orders of $500 or more. For more information, visit booth #W2970 and www.lowesforpros.com.
