Aftermarket Daily News 1 5 Thursday, November 3, 2016 ACDELCO'S NEW ADVANTAGE BEARINGS LINE COVERS 69 MILLION VEHICLES ACDelco has introduced an all-new line of Advantage bearings to meet the growing demand for driveline and engine service solutions in the automo- tive aftermarket. The new line includes more than 160 part numbers covering ball bear- ings, clutch release bearings, hanger bearings, hub assemblies, hub spindle kits, taper bearings and wheel bearings. The new Advantage bearing line pro- vides coverage for 69 million vehicles on U.S. roads today. "ACDelco Advantage bearing assemblies are designed to provide pre- mium fit, form and function at a com- petitive price," said Kevin Smith, Product Specialist, ACDelco. "It's the details of the manufacturing and quality control that make this possible." ACDelco Advantage hub assem- blies are meticulously manufactured to precise tolerances providing excellent bearing, braking and handling perform- ance. The hub assembly manufacturing process starts with superior steel that's refined using a micro-cleaning process to remove impurities, increasing bear- ing life and reducing fatigue spalling. Rolling surfaces are induction heat-treated to a controlled depth, creating a casehardened pattern that increases strength and reliability. Next, the precision- ground raceways and super-finished balls are meticulously machined to ensure smooth and quiet operation. The final steps of the manufactur- ing process protect the assemblies from harsh weather and driving conditions. First, a special heat-treatment process is used to help strengthen the freshly machined steel raceways. Then, advanced lubrication is applied to reduce friction and ensure cool opera- tion. Once assembled, the multi-lip design of the assembly and heavy- gauge insulated wire used for the anti-lock braking system (ABS) provide additional pro- tection. Before they leave the factory, ACDelco Advantage bearing prod- ucts are 100 percent end- of-the-line tested. This quality and attention to detail is backed by a 12- month/12,000-mile warranty. When installed by qualifying members of ACDelco's Professional Service Center program, the warranty expands to 24 months/24,000 miles with 12 months of Roadside Assistance. (OPGI) traditionally brings several 100 percent factory-correct restored GM classics to the SEMA Show each year, the company has deviated from that recipe a bit for the 2016 Show with the debut of "The Executive" Chevelle. The cranberry red 1970 Chevelle is a big- block SS tribute car named "The Executive" in a nod to a similar classic Chevelle purchased by OPGI Chief Executive Officer Dave Leonard back in 1986. Because the original car held so much meaning to Dave, the company wanted to recreate it, but with a twist. While the new bright red Chevelle SS may appear to be similar to other OPGI- restored vehicles, there is a big differ- ence with this one that is not immedi- ately apparent when you first look at it. Working in conjunction with the guys at the Hot Rod Garage, OPGI decided to add some modern performance, power, handling and convenience through the use of aftermarket performance prod- ucts and accessories from the OPGI cat- alog. In an effort to retain the factory- stock appearance, yet deliver more modern performance and convenience on today's roads, the Executive has been thoroughly upgraded with a new fuel-injected GM Crate HT 502 motor backed by a new 4L80-E transmission. The original suspension was swapped out for a Hotchkis Stage I Total Vehicle System Handling Package along with big disc brakes, new shocks, spindles, steering arms, tie rods and center link. The inte- rior received upgrades in the form of a new Super Sport Chevelle Dash Conversion Kit (includ- ing Dash Pad) from OPGI as well as a new OPGI steering column and a complete new air conditioning system from Vintage Air. Along with the modifications designed to deliver better braking, han- dling, more power and convenience, the car was also cosmetically reworked into a red with black stripes Chevelle SS tribute car appearance by JH Restorations and Starside Design, both in Riverside, California. This is the first GM classic with resto-mod perform- ance modifications that OPGI has ever displayed at the SEMA Show. In addi- tion to the wealth of reproduction restoration parts offered by OPGI, the many different after- market performance products and acces- sories like the ones used on the Executive have also proven very popular with its cus- tomers. That's why building the Executive Chevelle made sense this year. A lot of time and work went into the project and the complete list of parts used to create this stunning Chevelle is over 227 items long. The entire build along with a complete list- ing of the parts used can be found on the OPGI website at OPGI.com. Be sure to stop by OPGI's SEMA booth #23987 to get a look at this one-of-a-kind Chevelle for yourself. For more information, visit www.opgi.com or stop by booth #23987. BERRYMAN INTRODUCES NEW ITEM By Beau Blankenship, Marketing Director, Berryman Products For nearly 100 years, Berryman Products has been the go-to name in performance chemicals. With so much history, it becomes easy to see how we have been able to make it this far: we pay attention to what our customers want. This has helped our company keep a competitive edge and maintain great relationships with the people. Recently, our team rec- ognized a trend in the automotive mar- ketplace that has resulted in the release of a new product to address a growing need. News media from around the coun- try, (FOX, CNBC, CBS, Huffington Post, etc.) have reported that Americans are holding on to their cars longer than ever before. There are a number of reasons for this trend, including improved quality by manufacturers, reliability of the vehicles and economic woes in recent history. On average, people are holding on to their cars 2.5 years longer than in 2006. The number of cars more than 12 years old continues to grow and is expected to increase 15 percent by 2020. Our team at Berryman used this information and sought to find a way to manufacture a product, especially for these older vehicles. With its debut at AAPEX 2016, we are excited to intro- duce our new Berryman B-12 High Mile-Edge Fuel Cleaning Concentrate. Recommended for gas- powered vehicles exceeding 60,000 miles, this unique formula contains the strongest solvents and detergents available on the market today. Berryman B-12 High Mile-Edge max- imizes drivability, fuel economy and injector life by completely cleaning combustion chambers, intake ports and valves, fuel injectors, carburetors, fuel pump and fuel lines. Antioxidants and corrosion inhibitors stabilize gas for up to six months while dispersing mois- ture in conventional and reformu- lated gasoline. Berryman Products is dedi- cated to continuing our tradition of being All American Made since 1918. We are excited to introduce this amazing product at AAPEX this year and look forward to the response we get from the atten- dees. Come visit the good people of Berryman at booth #4409 and get your hands on our ChemTooler key chains and stickers!
