G a m i n g N e w s 3 3 W e d n e s d a y, S e p t e m b e r 2 5 , 2 0 1 3 table game called Casino Hold 'Em. This is already very popular in Europe and Africa, with more than 100 of these games already in operation in interna- tional casinos, and this will be the U.S. introduction of the product for DEQ. Casino Hold' Em is a very enticing alter- native to the already popular Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em by SHFL. We're also introducing another brand new product for our Baccarat line of products, called Mobile Virtual Supervisor. This mobile app serves as a management tool to more efficiently manage baccarat operations in a casino. GN: Let's talk more about the Baccarat line of products. EH: In four short years, EZ Baccarat has redefined the standard for the efficiency and profitability for baccarat in the casino. Besides the innovation of the actual game itself, the addition of the LCD display scoring product called EZ Trak offered the vital statistics necessary for players to be able to place, not only their bets on bac- carat, but also their side bets as well. The EZ Baccarat and EZ Trak combined prod- uct has transformed the casinos in the U.S. from blackjack casinos to baccarat casinos. We saw at DEQ that 2013 was the time to bring even more innovation and DEQ (Cont'd. from p. 1) efficiency to baccarat by increasing the technological footprint surrounding the already-popular game. Our first endeavor was to create a universal electronic bac- carat shoe that could read any type of card, thus lowering the cost of cards for the casi- no. The electronic shoe also automated the results process, which further increased the speed and efficiency of the game. Once we were able to automate the results with the newly released baccarat shoe, it was time to create something useful and efficient with all the data that we were storing from the operation of the game. That is when the Mobile Virtual Supervisor emerged as the next product in the Baccarat suite of products. The final step for EZ Baccarat at this stage is to offer the same exciting experience online as in the casinos. GN: Can you give me a brief insight into why casino operators need to take a look at your new Platinum edition for G3? EH: The G3 Platinum eliminates the need for the casino to choose between the traditional methodology and a more prof- itable cutting edge methodology. This allows the customer to choose the way they want to play. For more information, visit DEQ Systems during G2E in booth 3817. After the show, visit www.deq.com. behind the mission. TRIBAL FIRST FILLS UNIQUE NICHE WITH ITS INSURANCE OFFERINGS TO INDIAN COUNTRY An interview with Donald Molloy, First Vice President, Tribal First. GN: Tell our readers about Tribal First's claims operation. How long have you been administering claims in Indian Country? DM: We started handling tribal claims in 1994 for tribes who were self-insured under the Tribal First program. With the growth Indian Country had experienced, our opera- tion continued to grow as well. It's been an amazing journey. Today, we have four claims offices across the United States, and have now handled more than 175,000 claims on behalf of our tribal clients. GN: And is this still for self-insured tribes? DM: Yes, although in the late 1990s, we launched a first dollar program and much of the claims volume we administer through today is generated from that business as well. We are blessed to be the largest provider of property and casualty insurance products for tribes, including their governments and enterprises, both self-insured and first-dollar insured. So there's our plug! It is a unique niche, but we love what we do. GN: What makes claims handling in Indian Country so unique? DM: There is a skill set one must possess in order to be effective in the world of tribal claims. One must combine expertise in claims investigation and evaluation, knowl- edge of how to apply concepts of adminis- tration in conformity with individual tribe's laws and customs, and an understanding of tribal jurisdiction. It's important to know not only the ordinances and resolutions of our clients that impact the claims process, but also the laws of the comparable state juris- dictions, the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), and gaming compact language where applicable. All of this is of paramount importance in order to ensure a claims han- dling process that protects assets of our clients as well as the integrity of insurance in Indian Country. GN: Is there a particular claims exposure you see becoming more prevalent over the coming years? DM: As our clients continue to diversify, so do the types of claims we encounter. With continued innovations, and as the use of and reliance on technology contin- ues to advance, I could foresee an increased level of claims activity in the area of e-commerce. GN: So how do you measure your success? DM: Of course, our clients' continued trust in us is the most important metric by which we're measured. The nature of claims is such that we can't realistically appease each and every claimant that feels they have been aggrieved. However, we strive to maintain our pas- sion to serve and expertise in our field, and go to great lengths to ensure the integrity of the claims process. When this results in a resolution that is fair to all involved, I view this as success. GN: How can our readers contact Tribal First if they'd like to learn more about the organization? DM: We are all here to help. There is a list of contacts available on our website at www.tribalfirst.com. v For more information visit www.tribal first.com, call 800-552-8921, or email dmolloy@tribalfirst.com. IVERSON GAMING POISED TO DEPLOY THE WORLD'S FIRST CRUISE SHIP MOBILE GAMING SYSTEM Iverson Gaming Systems, a global provider of gaming management solu- tions, has entered the final preparation phase with its client to implement a completely cashless mobile gaming system aboard a cruise ship. This posi- tions the company, along with strategic partner Acres 4.0, as the provider of the world's first mobile gaming system in the cruise industry. The gaming system, built around the Apple ® iPad ® , is the first truly server- centric gaming product using wireless communications in existence. The games are better. The walls are gone. The guests are connected. Each iPad ® is a new slot machine, minus the baggage. Couple that with the planned integration to a custom concierge app, and cruise ship guests will soon be enjoying a more mobile—and social—gaming and entertainment expe- rience on Iverson's SeaPET (Portable Entertainment Tablet). Current slot players get plenty of the games they're used to—but now they get to play them by the pool. Youthful players, previously uninterested by what the casino had to offer, now have exciting choices for new games and entertainment options unlike any- thing they've ever experienced. Iverson Gaming, as a leader in onboard gaming systems, already enjoys the market's strongest installation base of cruise ship casino management systems across a number of brands globally—so the industry-first mobile gaming plat- form is a perfect extension of Iverson's expertise in the cruise industry. Moreover, with Fidelio Cruise as one of Iverson's longtime preferred partners, the cashless system can be easily and seamlessly connected to the ship's passenger manifest. The introduction of cruise ship mobile gam- ing is just one of the exciting initiatives in an impressive year for Iverson Gaming. With the recent agreement between Iverson and IGT to provide TITO functionality along with Iverson's line of slot and player tracking systems, Iverson has exciting plans to roll out a new product that offers land-based casi- nos a much better value for slot and play- er tracking. Come visit Iverson Gaming Systems, Inc. in booth #2611 for a demonstration.
