This year, IGT is ready to roll out the blue carpet to welcome an exciting new jackpot product. PowerBucks™ is a wide-area progressive that allows for fre- quent jackpot hits through inter-jurisdic- tional jackpot links. IGT's visionary technology allows for the convergence of online and land- based links. This groundbreaking jackpot technology will feature several of IGT's well-known titles, including Texas Tango ® , as well as many licensed titles which are exclusive to IGT. As more states are added to the jackpot link, the more the jackpot grows, essentially supercharging the games linked through the PowerBucks system, providing more chances to win! Not only are the jack- pots larg- er and more fre- q u e n t , but players have the capability to bet at all wager levels on both land-based and online games. Come by IGT's booth 2241 to check out PowerBucks and other groundbreaking products. Discover more about IGT, and keep up to date on the latest booth news via @IGTNews and #igtblue. HOUSE BENEFITS WITH SHOOTOUT POKER An interview with Mark Slotkin, President of Creative Casino Games and inventor of Shootout Poker, first interac- tive table game, and its companion game, Lo-Ball Showdown. GN: Why did poker games come to your attention specifically? MS: I own a casino ship called Jacks or Better. While it offers full Las Vegas action, it is a bit small to run a poker game. I've always loved poker and because it is so hot, I wanted to bring it on board. I knew my casino needed a stimulus and revisited all the carnival games available. GN: At what point were you satisfied you had the games right? MS: I placed the game in my casino ship and we ran real trials with customers. There were several surprising reactions, all of which improved the game. For example, if there were no calls after a shootout bet, the house would not take its rake on a no-action bet. The house com- mission would be capped at say $25 on a game with a full table. Naturally, the big- ger the game, the higher the cap. Our cus- tomers love the game and were over-the- top helpful. GN: At what stage of trial are the games in now? MS: We are currently exhibiting at gam- ing expos, contacting casinos, have instructional videos online, and making personal demonstration appointments when they dovetail into my travels. GN: Tell our readers about the casino rake? How does that work and what can the casinos expect in terms of earnings? MS: The casinos have never been able to rake a table game. After all, they have the house edge so there was nothing to rake. By combining player versus house and player versus player, the house has the ability for the first time to collect a com- mission on the after river action. This should give the house about an extra $350 to $500 per hour on a full table. This is without any risk to the casino. GN: Why is Lo-Ball being introduced to the casino? MS: Lo-Ball is not a new game, albeit, new for the table game player and for some of the table game directors. I remind you that three of the five games played at the WPT H.O.R.S.E. event involve Lo- Ball. Lo-Ball was the hot game before Texas Hold 'em came around. It is easier for a player to understand Lo-Ball because there are no straights, flushes, or hidden pairs to deal with. The worst hand wins in terms of traditional poker values. EZ BACCARAT INTERACTIVE Launched at this year's G2E in Las Vegas, EZ Baccarat Interactive replicates the experience of playing EZ Baccarat at a live table. In development for a year, the inter- active software can be played on all com- puters, Android, iPhones and any other mobile devices that use Flash or HTML5. In creating the Interactive game, it was essential to keep all the features that the live table game version has that make the game so exciting. The three main ele- ments of EZ Baccarat: playing the game itself, the history of the shoe results on the scoreboard, and the ability to see what others at the table are betting, had to be integrated, while also scaling the game down so it could work on a smart phone with a small screen. The application has been designed to provide maximum flexibility to the on line casinos ("OLC") and the playing cus- tomer. When the customer enters a casi- no's interactive portal and selects EZ Baccarat as the game he wants to play, he is immediately sent to a "lobby" that shows a number of EZ Baccarat games currently in progress that he can scroll through. Each "table" displays important data to help the customer make a selec- tion. This includes the number of hands dealt from the shoe, the number of Dragon 7 and Panda 8 hands that have occurred in the shoe, and the table limits for the game. Once a customer selects a table, he is assigned a position at the game and the game screen opens up, ready for play on the next hand. At any time, the customer can touch his screen to look at the full EZ Trak display or touch an icon to see who is betting what at each position at his table. An OLC option is available that each cus- tomer's name or nickname can also be shown in "Table View." Once a table is full (to control volatility the maximum is 10 customers per table), it disappears from the lobby and another table with the same limits replaces it. It is, therefore, possible to keep adding as many games as the OLC desires to deploy. The application is also going to be offered with a "Live Casino" option. This is when an OLC casino shows a physical table game that has a dealer dealing the cards for a shoe. The image of the live game appears on the customer's screen with the regular application. To eliminate the possibility of card counting bots (computer robots that can track multiple interactive games at the same time), there are a variety of security features in place that make the counting of the shoe to extract an advantage on the game or the proposition bets not profitable. EZ Baccarat Interactive is available now and offered as an app with or with- out "Live Casino" play through the Bally Technologies Interactive library. About DEQ Systems DEQ Systems Corp.
