The HORI- ZON LED line can be used for daytime and nighttime lighting on tall structures such as communication, television and radio towers, wind turbines, smokestacks and other obstructions to aerial naviga- tion. Intertek (ETL)-certified and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)- approved, the L-864/865 provides both daytime white and nighttime red lights within a single unit and is part of the newest expansion of the H&P's obstruc- tion lighting portfolio, the HORIZON line. The series is available in L864 (red), L865 (white) and L864/865 (red/white) as well as the low intensity L810 (red) models. The daytime white strobe elimi- nates the need to paint the structure with aviation orange and white stripes, and nighttime red flashing beacon lights are community-friendly. The HORIZON L- 864/865 is suited for structures between 150 feet (45 meters) and 500 feet (150 meters) above ground level and operates at a range of 95-277VAC, 50/60Hz. The new microprocessor controlled LED strobe system boasts a self-contained power supply that simplifies wiring but also accepts external signals if necessary. Its com- pact design, built-in testing, GPS sync (optional), automatic day/night sensor and wiring compatibility make the product easy to use and install. Like other products in the HORIZON line, the units are com- patible with existing cabling and mount- ing, allowing users to retrofit to LED without installing new cable or mounting brackets. In addition, the light only weighs 17 pounds, allowing it to be easily hoisted and installed. These features significantly decrease the time and expense of retro- fitting structures with LED compared to HORIZON LED AIRCRAFT WARNING LIGHTS ARE FAA-APPROVED iSIMPLE: CAPTURING THE CONNECTED CAR OPPORTUNITY According to certain industry estimates, there will be more than a billion smart- phones in consumer hands by 2015. Of that number, approximately 300-million owners will seek out some type of after- market product to connect their smart- phone to their car. It is in this robust and growing marketplace that iSimple ® – currently exhibiting at booth 7660 – made a name for itself, and is continuing to lead the way with exciting new prod- ucts like the BluStream™ and the CallJax™. Combining simplicity with advanced wireless technology, the iSimple BluStream is a device that allows any car radio with an auxiliary audio input to pair with any Bluetooth equipped smartphone or tablet. Once installed (a process that quite literally takes seconds to do), the BluStream gives the user an experience similar to most OEM Bluetooth systems – includ- ing hands-free calling and streaming Internet radio – but at a fraction of the price. Even better, the BluStream is portable and can easily be taken by the driver from one vehicle to the next, Continued on Page 15 Continued on Page 34 AN INDEPENDENT PUBLICATION NOT AFFILIATED WITH CTIA Lee M.
