The label's nature- provoked ideology instills a higher echelon of fashionable wrist wears through its legacy of quality craftsman- ship and commitment to earth. Eponymous of its hallmark signature, "to blend," Mistura amalgamates the landscape of the rainforest nation's uncompromised beauty with intricate design application of living and breathing textures, revealing nature's innermost secrets into impelling, wearable art. OCG Show Daily talks with Joseph Hansen, CEO of Flirty Aprons, about his company's fun and fashionable product line. OSD: What would you say makes your company unique? JH: We are helping women destroy the "old ball and chain" mentality that is associated with activities in the kitchen. Our products make women feel alive and beau- tiful. We are not about creating a vintage line that pushes women back to the '50's. We are trying to embrace the modern woman and her preferences. Jennifer McKay of Pure Designs for Living talks about her company's philos- ophy and mission. OSD: Tell our readers about your company. JM: The idea of starting a gift product company actually came during the economic collapse ... it seemed like everywhere I looked, people were suffering. Everyone I knew was in financial trouble, including myself, struggling to keep my interior design company afloat. I needed a 'Plan B' and, at the same time, I wanted to help others … even if it was in a small way. Who knew what a blessing it would turn out to be? So now we conceive, The Lauren Lachance Collection has transformed tra- ditional plant pressing into an arrestingly beautiful art form. The stunning collection of museum-quality pressed plants is a culmination of more than twenty years of global research by botanic artist Lauren Lachance. Tropical orchids, leaves, heirloom flowers, ferns and water plants are pressed and preserved in a labor-inten- sive process that creates original, archival, museum- quality pieces of art. The orchid art authentically depicts endangered or extinct species, which are reproduced using a variety of tropical plant material.
