C o n v e n i e n c e R e t a i l e r S h o w D a i l y 5 5 S u n d a y, O c t o b e r 1 3 , 2 0 1 3 for our customers while keeping the envi- ronment clean. CRSD: What would you say makes your company unique? MJ: We have the only patent-pending Stage I vapor recovery system for the retail service station market that operates the UST at a negative pressure. CRSD: What do you anticipate to be your greatest challenge in the year ahead? MJ: Jordan has developed a vapor recovery system called the Jordan Vapor Solution, or JVS, which cap- tures and recovers all Stage I vapor and evaporative losses at the service station while reducing all fugitive emissions by operating the complete vapor system at a negative pressure. Due to the fact that this is a new inno- vative product which has never been seen before, our biggest challenge will be the introduction of this technology in the service station industry. CRSD: What products do you see as being hottest this year? MJ: Those that increase profitability for the customer. Our product, the JVS, will Jordan Technologies (Cont'd. from p. 1) fulfill this goal. CRSD: What distinguishes your prod- uct(s) from the competition? MJ: At present, there is no competition for this recently introduced, unique prod- uct. CRSD: Who are your target end-users? MJ: Our targeted end-users are all retail gasoline stations that have throughput of more than 3,000,000 gallons annually. CRSD: What is your outlook in general for this product line? MJ: For our defined market segment, we expect our equipment to be a vital com- ponent of every service station and become a normal part of their "kit" of equipment. CRSD: How can our readers find out more about your company? MJ: They can email sales@jordan tech.com and reference the Jordan Vapor Solution JVS product, or they can call 502-267-8344 for a sales representative. For more information, visit booth 4703, go online to www.jordan tech.com, call 502-267-8344 or email sales@jordantech.com. BS: The Anti Theft Cigarette Rack is the result of 10 years in the making and is the best security measure convenience retail- ers can take against employee cigarette pack theft. It's been a long process, and I'm currently working with a big national company to get the product out there and in front of retailers. Last year I intro- duced the overhead rack. This year, I'm introducing a new back counter rack capable of keeping track of both pack and carton dispensing. CRSD: How does the Anti Theft Cigarette Rack work? BS: The back counter and overhead racks are almost completely computerized. The rack digitally records each pack removed from the rack and keeps count of every pack removed. All the manager has to do is read the digital readout and compare that number with the end of shift sales count. Due to the size of cartons, carton dispensing utilizes its own computer. It saves a lot of time and money. CRSD: How pervasive is the problem of employee cigarette theft? BS: It's a huge problem. Hundreds of hours are wasted on manual counting systems and money is wasted trying to stop employees from stealing cigarette packs. It wasn't as big of an issue back when cigarette packs were cheaper, but as prices rise, so does theft. Any conven- ience retailer, new or experienced, knows that this is one of the biggest challenges to take on. CRSD: So what sets the Anti Theft Cigarette Rack apart from other security measures? Seneff Manufacturing (Cont'd. from p. 1) BS: It's in the technology. The system computer includes a USB drive that keeps a timestamp recording of when and how long the rack is open for. Additionally, one can include video sur- veillance for when the rack is open. It kicks on when the rack is opened until it's closed again. If the USB drive is unplugged for any reason, the internal board records when drive was taken out and put back in. If that's not enough, as the rack is open, a small alarm beeps audibly while it is open. If the system is circumvented in any way, internal memory records the time that power is lost so the manager knows that some- thing happened. CRSD: This sounds like a comprehen- sive system. Is there anything like it on the market? BS: Nobody has anything like this. Every convenience retailer is trying to figure out how to stop theft, but new technolo- gy makes it easy. The unit cost will pay for itself in savings from the lack of theft and wasted labor hours counting. Compared to other racks with no elec- tronics, it's well worth it. It takes the temptation away and improves trust between manager and employee. CRSD: Will you be showcasing the products at the show? BS: Absolutely. Both the overhead and the new back counter racks will be out for attendees to see and there will be demonstrations showcasing why they are the best solution to stopping ciga- rette theft. Where DNA distributes sever- al product lines, we own and distribute the Cigalectric electronic cigarette prod- uct line. We are a privately held corpora- tion with our headquarters located about 30 miles outside Chicago in Bartlett, Ill. CRSD: As an e-cig company, what makes you different from all the others? KK: That is a good question. There are several things that we feel make us dif- ferent. First off, we have been in the e-cig business since 2009. Many of our com- petitors have only been around less than a year or so. This is important because over the years, we have learned to fully understand the needs of our customers. We have designed our products to meet those needs. A great example of this is our industry leading advance replace- ment product warranty. We have such confidence in our products that if any of our customers has a quality issue with a Cigalectric item, we ship them a replace- ment within two business days, free of charge. It does not get simpler than that. A Cigalectric customer can be confident that their purchase will live up to the quality that they expect. CRSD: You do not sell Cigalectric online. Why is that? KK: At the very beginning of our com- pany, we decided that we did not want to compete with our retail partners. We wanted to support them and help them to build their business. I can't understand DNA Distributors (Cont'd. from p. 1) why any retailer would sell a product that the manufacturer was selling direct to consumers, and trying to cut them out. It makes no sense. CRSD: But you do have www.cigalec- tric.com, correct? KK: Yes. Our website is designed to help educate consumers about our products and the various options. When the con- sumer has made up their mind to buy, we have a store locator that helps them find a participating retailer that is convenient for them. The website also allows con- sumers to communicate directly with us, in case they have any questions. Warranty claims can be made on the site as well. CRSD: Why will Cigalectric be one of the e-cig brands that survives in the next few years? KK: Cigalectric is a tobacco product. We understand tobacco products and how they are made, sold and consumed. I have worked in the tobacco industry with retailers and wholesalers for over 30 years. Since we work closely to meet the needs of our wholesale and retail part- ners, they in turn appreciate our efforts, and work well with us. Our consumers are very loyal. They value our commit- ment to them. They know that Cigalectric will consistently deliver the best possible product quality. DRIVING VOLUME THROUGH THE FIVE ATTRIBUTES OF A QUALITY DRINK Schroeder America takes drink quality seriously. Like the company's largest customers, the Schroeder team believes that quality drives value and repeat inci- dents. That said, the company has focused its efforts toward ways to improve drink quality dispensed from bar guns. Schroeder America strives to ensure beverages dispensed from its bar guns and other products meet or exceed the products dispensed from a standard post-mix beverage valve. The Coca-Cola Company published a document referring to the five attributes to a quality drink. The attributes are: Carbonation: New ice-cooled bever- age dispensing system with Plug-in Bar Gun will improve carbonation through design by pre-chilling the water to the carbonator (cold carbonation) and hard plumbing the bar gun manifold direct to the cold plate. Temperature: The cold carbonation and insulated plug-in technology improves carbonation as well as temperature in the finished beverage. Taste: Taste can be made up of several attributes. We address carbonation and temperature along with maintaining superior ratio control with our designs. Product Freshness: Reliability, serv- iceability and drink quality drive volume. Higher volume keeps product moving. Is it clean and labeled?: All Schroeder America dispensers and acces- sories meet NSF certifications, are easy to clean and merchandise the brands effectively. How do Schroeder America and the five attributes come together? Using this ideology, Schroeder America has built a solid portfolio of products designed to meet the customers' demands while ensuring drink quality does not suffer. Schroeder America's dispensing equip- ment ensures quality, which drives value by offering the most consistent fountain beverages with unmatched reliability.
