Imagine an invention that is so revolutionary that the "problem" becomes the "solution." Most of the people in our NuvoH2O (Cont'd. from p. 1) system that prevents, protects and saves appliances, plumbing and fixtures from damaging and costly effects of scale build-up. NuvoH2O was able to grow and succeed through innovative solutions, hard work and by meeting the needs of customers in search of a cost effective water softening solution and plumbers/installers that were eager to take on and install new products like NuvoH2Os. In most cases, the purchase of a water softening system is based on customers' emotional and visceral needs: to eliminate hard water stains on dishes/fixtures/shower doors, for example, or to experience better soap and shampoo lather. In the case of NuvoH2O, systems are Amvic Building Systems (Cont'd. from p. 1) GB: Amvic Building System is the most innovative manufacturer of high-quality expanded polystyrene [EPS] products in the construction industry. Amvic products include Insulated Concrete Forms [ICF]. Amvic ICFs are hollow, lightweight, stay-in-place forms made of two panels of EPS that are connected by 100 percent recycled plastic webs. The forms are stacked together and steel reinforcement [rebar] is installed; the wall is braced and then filled with concrete, which creates a stable, energy-efficient and sustainable structure. AmDeck® Floor and Roof System is a modular, lightweight, stay-inplace form made of EPS that is used to construct insulated concrete floors and roofs. The system utilizes 10-inch, lightweight steel framing studs, which carry the temporary construction loads until the concrete gains its required Viribright (Cont'd. from p. 1) readers about your company. What is your main line of business? JH: Viribright is a manufacturer 'by definition,' of LED Light Bulbs and solidstate lighting solutions. Our LED light bulbs are engineered utilizing the advanced technology and developed to produce the highest quality of light at affordable prices. CM: What was your program last year? JH: Last year was our first year to exhibit at this show. Our products and company were well received and we picked up several top agents and agencies, which connected us to many new customers and opportunities. The response from this industry has been very exciting. CM: Describe your company's current industry understand that the most flammable part of any furniture is the polyurethane foam. When foam is ignited on a piece of upholstered furniture, it quickly produces so much heat and smoke that occupants and fire fighters are prized for their ability to extend the life of appliances and to produce energy savings in water heaters and eliminate wasted water. Typically a water softening system is an aftermarket purchase for new homes. In fact, fewer than five percent of builders add a water softener in a new home. Homebuilders prefer to spend their money on items such as carpet, paint, counter tops and other cosmetic items that are more aesthetically pleasing. A water softener is typically purchased for two main reasons. First, to eliminate hard water stains on dishes, and second, to eliminate clogging in showerheads and faucets. While water softeners are typically viewed as an added luxury, users quickly find, in the case of NuvoH2O, they pay strength. The studs then act as furring strips to which interior finishes can be attached. The AmDeck system perfectly complements an Amvic ICF structure, and together they provide a complete structural and thermal 'building envelope.' CM: How has Amvic endured the economic slowdown over the last couple of years and what are you doing to help with the recovery in the residential building industry? GB: Certainly, as with all manufacturers in the building material industry, the last couple of years have been extremely challenging for Amvic. The economic downturn has hit the residential homebuilding industry harder than most other segments of construction. One of the positives of these challenging times is that it has allowed many in our industry to look for more sustainmarketing strategy. JH: Our unique approach to market enables us to provide the janitorial and sanitation channel a 'factory direct' connection to a new profit center. Typically, folks in this industry have had to buy light bulbs through wholesalers and bulb suppliers. It makes logical sense that our current and future channel partners are already in the commercial buildings and in touch with the MRO and facilities' decision makers who also need light bulbs. With 'factory direct' distribution prices, our channel partners can be more competitive and get their foot into more re-lamp and retrofit projects more easily. CM: Are you introducing new products? JH: Yes! From last year we are introducing new Energy Star certified LED A shape 9,8W (60 W) Light output fortunate if they escape alive. Preventing or delaying the ignition of the foam in furniture-related fires is key to reducing fatalities. If "flash over" does not occur as quickly and harmful combustion gases are reduced, we have made improvements in fire safety. Imagine that we can greatly reduce the chances that the polyurethane foam will ignite from a cigarette or small flame source: Small for themselves quickly (usually within the first year), protect appliances and plumbing and minimize hard water spotting on dishes, fixtures and shower doors. The market for water softeners is significant. About 80 percent of the market doesn't use a water softener of any kind. NuvoH2O is a better approach to water softening for the following reasons: NuvoH2O uses a citrus solution to soften water instead of salt. NuvoH2O is able to keep the healthy essential minerals found in water. It doesn't remove minerals, so, in reality, it is healthier than traditional salt softeners. NuvoH2O's cartridge system is compact and easy to install. It requires no separate drain, electricity, soft water loop, brine tank or calibration. NuvoH2O's system eliminates the able, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient building products as we start to recover from this downturn. Insulated concrete forms are an ideal solution for today's need for energyefficient homes. CM: How does Amvic's ICF and AmDeck floor system contribute to sustainable 'green building' practices and energy efficient homes and buildings? GB: The Amvic Insulated Concrete Form [ICF] and AmDeck floor and roof systems offer builders and home owners true 'green building products' critical in today's economic and environmental climate. Buildings constructed with ICF benefit from significant noise reduction, consistent temperature and are not conducive to rot or mildew growth, thereby contributing to the comfort and health of inhabitants. Amvic ICF is manufactured using (Lumens) equivalent bulbs, new 3.8W Candelabra lamps, R30 and R40 lamps, outdoor rated 1500 lumen PAR38s, and NEW 2400K A shape 9.8W medium base for the hospitality industry. CM: What distinguishes your product from the competition? JH: First and foremost, we are a true manufacturer by definition. Most companies, to include major brands, are OEM manufacturers, as they contract others to manufacturer for them. We are the factory – period! We developed our products to exceed market requirements in fit, form and function using IPT™ Isolated Phosphor Technology, which provides higher efficiencies. We produce more lumens at lower wattages than competitors, making for a shorter time to ROI. Example: We produce 800 lumens at 9.8W vs. the typical 11–13W of other bulbs. Our light bulbs are CRI (Color 55 fires will not become large fires as fast, or perhaps not at all. Firewall Foam does not melt like traditional polyurethane foams. It does not support combustion and produces almost no smoke. Firewall Foam contains no ingredients listed on California Proposition 65 nor any halogenated flame retardants. For more information, visit www.fire wallbarriers.com. need to haul bags of salt and simply requires a citrus cartridge to be changed twice a year. NuvoH2O's results are measureable. The company can measure pH and can actually show you numbers and provide data to back this claim up. NuvoH2O's system costs 50-80 percent less than traditional salt water softener systems. NuvoH2O is an effective citrus solution for salt-free, natural water softening. Its system is more cost effective and efficient with less water, no drain, no electricity, no brine tank, calibration or soft water loop. Amvic products are well-engineered, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly and easy to use. The innovative designs and unique features make them the best choice for your next residential or commercial building project. Amvic building products are also recognized as a 'green building' product: Amvic ICF can contribute up to 20 points toward LEED certification, as proven by a thirdparty product assessment.
