Monday, April 8, 2013 Broadcasters Show Daily VIVICAST MEDIA EXPANDS FURTHER INTO GLOBAL MARKETPLACE Capping off a successful end to 2012 and start to 2013, Vivicast Media has expanded its reach into new areas of content, expertise and markets. As one of the foremost licensors of content, the company continues to stay on top of changes in the marketplace on multiple levels. One of Vivicast's major accomplishments is the launch of several networks in India over multiple platforms. Later in 2013 we will be adding several more channels to this highly complex and vibrant market. In addition, Vivicast has also launched a number of networks in Western Europe, Australia, Mexico, Latin America, Thailand, the Baltics, the Caribbean and of course, the United States. For many of Vivicast's networks, the launches that the company have accomplished are the first of that kind in many territories. The demand for our content continues to increase and we have many opportunities in final stages of negotiation in other countries that will see continued growth through the rest of 2013. Realizing the increased demand for quality content for the VOD, syndication and broadcast areas, Vivicast expanded the responsibilities of its Head of Programming, Amy Shapiro, to cover these areas. Currently offering a wide range of content that can be sold in individual blocks, Vivicast now offers 3D and Ultra HD content, documentaries, films, sports and general interest programming to broadcasters Bi2 VISION SHOWS FUTURE OF 3D CAMERA RIGS A recent automated 3D camera rig from Bi2-Vision provides the means for high quality 3D video production without greatly expanding the 2D camera crew size or compromising the 3D effect. Especially valuable for live production, live sports and other events, Bi2Vision P3™ significantly simplifies the 3D production process, and produces unprecedented dynamic depth perception at mid-to-longer distances. The Bi2-Vision P3 true optic stereo rig automates interaxial camera spacing (the distance between the left- eye camera and the right-eye camera) through precision zoom and focus data provided from the digital lenses. As the operator zooms, pans and focuses, the P3 system automatically determines and maintains the optimal interaxial spacing between cameras. During any live production, both subject matter and camera framing change continuously; requiring ongoing interaxial adjustments to produce optimized 3D imagery. Prior to the availability of Bi2-Vision's automated P3 system, a 3D production crew had two choices. They could add a camera rig SUPERMICRO OFFERS LARGEST SELECTION OF SERVER AND STORAGE SOLUTIONS FOR BROADCAST MEDIA STUDIOS AND PROFESSIONALS Supermicro addresses the needs of the broadcast industry with its vast array of server, workstation and storage solutions for production and editing. The SW5037A-i entry-level system features an Intel Xeon E5-1600, 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 and up to 256GB of memory. This system demos CS6 Adobe® Premiere® Pro and After Effects® applications accelerated with NVIDIA® Quadro® 4000 and Tesla® C2075 GPUs, providing videographers real-time editing with photorealistic effects. The SW7047GR-TRF is a state-of-the-art HPC SuperWorkstation featuring dual Intel Xeon E5-2600s, 4x PCIe 3.0 x16 (plus 3x additional slots for graphics or HBA) and up to 512GB. Utilizing the power of one NVIDIA Quadro 6000 and 3x Tesla GPUs, this system blazes through rendering in Autodesk® 3ds Max® 2012 with iray®, unleashing users' creativity with fully interactive, photore- and operators in the United States and internationally. In addition, the company is aggressively seeking to license new and innovative content for these offerings. On the multi-platform front, Vivicast also has expanded its line-up to include two full-time 24/7 3D networks, Wealth 3D and 3Flow. Both of these networks have proven to be very successful in the international marketplace and, as the sale of 3D devices increases, their distribution is expected to significantly increase in the coming years. In the coming year, Vivicast will be adding more sports, family, movie and news content. In addition, because Vivicast understands the changing viewer experience, the company will be adding to its content with some of the first 4K(UltraHD) content as well as expanded 3D content. Exhibiting at NAB booth SUCP1 assistant for each camera position to roughly adjust the rig's interaxial spacing. Or they could pick an average "fixed" interaxial spacing to use throughout the production. In both cases the 3D effect is compromised. However, the new P3 system determines the requirements for interaxial spacing adjustment in a fraction of a second, and then quickly and automatically makes the adjustment. Additionally, the P3 system automatically corrects the relative alignment errors between the cameras. Bi2-Vision's P3 automated 3D rig provides the best of both worlds: producers can keep their 3D budgets in line, and they benefit from the speed and precision of the P3's interaxial alistic ray-tracing. A SuperServer® SW5037A-i with dual NVIDIA Quadro 2000 GPUs displays the highest quality video encoding and real-time streaming with Elemental™ Live.
