BSD: What is the new "P" series of reference display monitors developed by ViewZ this year? LE: ViewZ has extended the capabilities in its 18.5-inch, 21.5-inch and 24inch displays by adding tools for the color grading professional which includes import/export 3D Lookup Tables, that are used to calculate preview colors for a display or finishing looks for an image on a final film print. A 3D LUT, which is a 3D lattice that shows the output of color values, these lattice cubes come in various sizes and bit depth with the most common being cubes that are 16 by 16 by 16. We have also added calibration tools that maintain the color temperature, gamma registration and white balance of the display. BSD: Is closed captioning decoding a feature supported on these new P series displays from ViewZ? LE: Yes, we are offering closed caption monitoring support in our new P series displays. Included will be support for hot key on/off of the captioning window and an array of background colors for the caption window. BSD: Are you planning to show any larger sizes of your reference displays that shows these new features? LE: In addition to showing our 21.5-inch and 24inch inch displays we will also be showing a larger 47-inch display with the full range of test and measurement tools, and the 3D LUT import/export capability, calibration tools and closed caption decoding display. BSD: What are you planning to show in the way of 4K displays? LE: We have a 4K display in UHD format that we are showing demonstrating a dual link 2K input. All of our display products currently are 2K DCI Compliant and we are demonstrating the ability to support this new direction in high resolution displays. BSD: Where are you located at NAB this year?
