Aftermarket Daily News 4 7 Friday, November 8, 2019 AccuVision-3D from Arslan Automotive As vehicles are getting more sophisticat- ed, so is the way we repair them. The industry is evolving at an exponential pace and shops that want to stay in busi- ness must also evolve and fulfill the OEM and industry certification require- ments. There is thus the need to be well equipped to handle the new challenges. A Pulse MIG/MAG welder, a resistance spot welder and a 3D measuring system, among other tools, are essentials for every shop going forward. Arslan Automotive Canada Ltd., a 37-plus year supplier and manufacturer for National PBE distributors in Canada, is introducing its line-up of new equip- ment. The company has made the decision to make its AccuVision-3D measuring system available to all North American shops – a real game changer! AccuVision- 3D is the quickest, most accurate and least complicated measuring system on the market. It is excellent for estimating and repair, no calibration needed, just point and measure. Measure anywhere and print or save the report in minutes. Steve Klapprat, Owner of Ski Collision of Winnipeg, said, "Firstly, I must say, I should have bought your sys- tem a year ago, I am sorry I waited. We have a 4,000 square foot shop and space is always limited. We decided to buy a 3D measuring sys- tem and after much investigation, we settled on the AccuVision-3D because of its simplicity, ease of use and huge time savings. Our backlog of 40 cars was cleared in less than a week and we were amazed at how quick our technician, Shaun Ings, mastered the system and now swears by it. "On a cost-benefit basis, price, though comparable to competitive brands, is not a factor due to AccuVision- 3D's very fast payback period. We now use it almost on every car for estimating as well as repairs. It only takes min- utes what would take hours with other systems. We have the option to print or save the reports as PDF files and email to the insur- er without creating paper- work. As for backup, from the outset, your technical department has been super responsive and professional by taking control of our system online and live to resolve any issues. Just a funtastic sys- tem!" The Truth About the Auto Industry's Most Outdated Cleaning Tool By Jenny Turner, Marketing Director, Industry, Essity From the movies and even our own driveways, we have this idea of what cleaning a car looks like. Usually, an individual wipes down a car with an old t-shirt or rag, or walks around the shop with a used rental shop towel hanging from his or her tool belt. The underlying sentiment portrayed in these nostalgic scenes rings true for most automotive professionals: cleaning cars is about hard work, rolling your sleeves up and not being afraid to get your hands dirty. However, the fact that some automo- tive technicians are still using old rags or rental towels for important cleaning tasks is troubling. In reality, rags and rental tow- els are an outdated solution for maintain- ing safety and cleanliness in a shop, and could be causing more harm than good. Details, Details, Details For some automotive technicians, the tool used for a seemingly basic task like wiping, cleaning or polishing a surface may seem like a minor detail. However, using products designed for the task can save time and energy, improve safety and hygiene, and even cut costs. Rental towels and rags, on the other hand, can be used for several unrelated tasks – and pose many risks as a result. It is common to find leftover grease, sol- vents and even metal shavings on rental towels or buttons or sequins on rags, which are unwanted surprises that can harm workers and equipment or harm finishes. Additionally, rental towels and rags are typically packaged together in large boxes or bins that take up space and are difficult to place in accessible locations. Switch to Task-Based Wipers Try a better performing solution with Tork task-based disposable wipers, such as Tork Industrial Cleaning Cloth wipers, which provide end-users with a fresh, clean and hygienic wiper every time. Made with Tork excelCLEAN ® wiper technology, Tork Industrial Cleaning Cloths are soft and flexible, excellent in tight spaces and ideal for use on oil and grease to deliver profes- sional cleaning results. Tork task-based wipers are also free from any impuri- ties, residue or shards of metal that can injure workers' hands, damage equip- ment or finishes, and have no suspi- cious odors and no frayed edges that catch in a machine – help- ing you uphold your com- mitment to health and safety in your shop. Using a disposable cleaning cloth requires up to 20 percent less effort, up to 23 percent less time and up to 40 percent less solvent to complete a task compared with rags and rental cloths. Tork wipers also take up to 80 percent less space than rags or rental shop towels, resulting in savings on transportation, storage and disposal costs and a more efficient, clean and organized workplace (panel test conducted by Swerea Research Institute, Sweden, 2014). Tork wipers can help your facility boost productivity, efficiency and hygiene while also cutting costs. MultiTech Launches First CBRS Industrial IoT Devices for OnGo Networks MultiTech, a leading supplier of Industrial IoT communication devices and solutions, recently announced the availability of a new, FCC part 15 and 96 authorized Ethernet to CBRS bridge, supporting initial commercial deploy- ments of OnGo CBRS networks, as well as an industrial CBRS router sampling today to qualified customers. These devices are to be the first of a broader portfolio of private LTE devices support- ing CBRS and other dedicated LTE bands around the globe in a choice of form factors that respond to the explod- ing demand for robust asset connectivity within industrial and enterprise applica- tions. The MultiConnect eCell and MultiConnect rCell 600 are the first of their kind that are designed to connect a wide range of new and legacy assets to dedicated, mission-critical Private LTE and Neutral Host public access CBRS networks, in collaboration with the CBRS Alliance. They leverage the FCC open mid-band spectrum between 3.55- 3.7 GHz that was commercially launched last month at a CBRS Alliance OnGo launch event in Washington, D.C. "Since joining the Alliance, MultiTech has been an active advocate for CBRS and OnGo," said Alan Ewing, Executive Director of the CBRS Alliance. "The eCell Ethernet to OnGo bridge device is hitting the market just in time to sup- port initial commercial deployments, just approved by the FCC." The MultiConnect eCell cellular to Ethernet Bridge enables plug-and-play CBRS connectivity for existing smart assets as primary connectivity or as a failover, should wired connections become com- promised. Its rugged aluminum chassis protects the eCell from harsh industrial environments, while DeviceHQ secure lifecycle management, provides IT with the tools needed to monitor and manage asset performance remotely. Samples have been shipping since May and are already in use by many CBRS Alliance members. Applications leveraging the MultiConnect eCell include: JMA Wireless XRAN virtual baseband enabling CBRS OnGo for video, internal communica- tions and digital displays at major venues and CBRS trial sites; Geoverse Private LTE, monitoring commercial building entrances in real-time; Commscope working with its customers to connect vital sign monitor carts in hospitals as they roll from room to room with superi- or reliability and secure CBRS connec- tivity; and Syniverse Innovation Lab, using video surveillance to monitor its smart IoT-based parking lot.
