Kitchenware News & Housewares Review Show Daily Tuesday, March 5, 2019 5 4 High-Quality Natural Products from Cachafaz An interview with Juan Mandayo, Chief Executive Officer, Cachafaz US. KNSD: Tell our readers about your com- pany. JM: Cachafaz was founded in 2001 by three Argentinian brothers who began producing their version of the famous Argentinian "alfajor" (a maicena cookie filled with dulce de leche) and distribut- ing their treats by bicycle. As they grew their small, family business, the brothers realized that Argentinians were looking for a new kind of snack: something as healthy as it was delicious. Cachafaz has since become one of the first companies to introduce high-quality treats with whole, all-natural ingredients to the Argentinian market. KNSD: What has been done and what are the expectations for 2019? JM: Over the past two years, we've made changes to our packaging, certified USDA Organic some products and devel- oped a marketing strategy for our prod- ucts. Our expectation for 2019 is to con- tinue to grow and open new accounts throughout the U.S. So far, Cachafaz has received great feedback from customers around New York, Florida, California, Texas and it will hopefully be experienced nation- wide. KNSD: What would you say makes your company unique? JM: As a company, we are constantly innovating to create new, high-quality natural products. Developing healthy, delicious and affordable food for all cus- tomers is our top objective. Our philosophy is to select the best natural ingredients so that cus- tomers can enjoy a product with a variety of nutritional properties. Cachafaz is a great example of viral marketing success: simply through word of mouth, our customers have put us at the top of international business. KNSD: Are you introducing any new products? If so, what distinguishes this new product from others already on the market? JM: Yes, Cookids. After two years work- ing with farmers and new wheat suppli- ers, we manufactured an incredibly full flavor whole wheat cookie, which is cer- tified USDA Organic, available in three flavors: Vanilla, Cocoa and Honey & Oats. The first two are also vegan with low sugar and fun packaging. We consid- er that all the natural attributes will be key for customers to pick up. KNSD: Where is your current product emphasis? JM: We target customers who care about ingredients, so we emphasize right on the package what the cookies contain, and just as importantly, what they don't. KNSD: What is the nature of your distri- bution? JM: We just started working with UNFI, available in three distribution centers, and are also working with six smaller dis- tributors throughout the U.S. Our goal is to make sure customers around the coun- try will be able to find our products at their local grocery shelf. We are confi- dent that the demand of our products will open many other doors. For more information, go to www.cachafaz.us. Champignon North America Launches Rougette Bonfire Grilling Cheeses Champignon North America is pleased to announce the launch of a selection of specialty cheeses made just for the grill. Rougette Bonfire Grilling Cheeses, the latest cheese innovation from Käserei Champignon, are served hot, fresh off the grill and are perfect for sharing. The product line includes two types of cheese, made with all-natural ingredi- ents: a mild and creamy soft-ripened cheese, which comes in two individually packed cheeses per unit; and a semi-soft cheese marinated in herbs, which comes in a convenient ready-to-grill pan. Both cheeses are unique and approachable in flavor profile and truly bring something special to the summer barbecue experi- ence. Mild and creamy Grilling Cheese is made to be heated directly on the grill – just like a burger. The creative cheese masters of Käserei Champignon have refined a recipe for a soft ripened cheese that can withstand the direct heat without melting or sticking to the grill. The cheese develops a char- grilled, golden crispy outside and a warm and creamy soft inside. An excel- lent grilling choice for vegetarians and cheese lovers alike! Marinated Grilling Cheese is a savory and creamy semi-soft cheese pre-marinated in herbs and oil and comes in a convenient alu- minum pan for easy preparation and grilling. The cheese soft- ens when warmed and has versatile party menu applications: it can be warmed on both sides and then diced into salads, lay- ered with grilled vegetables for one-pan main course, or it can be melted into a hot dip, perfect for a crowd. "We're very excited to see our Rougette Bonfire Grilling Cheeses bring people together around the grill," said Flynne Wiley, Chief Executive Officer of Champignon North America. Columbia Valley Family Farms Celebrates 35 Years Columbia Valley Family Farms is cele- brating 35 years of excellence. Foster's Pickled Products started with humble beginnings and the company keeps that clearly in mind as it moves forward. Its brand has been built on faith, family and a handshake. It believes you cannot go wrong with these values in mind. The owners, Kevin Filbrun and Bryan Lynch, have a passion for agriculture and are family-oriented brothers who have been farming for almost three decades. They are active in the local community through donating time, talent and resources to charities, and providing sup- port for youth missions and child adop- tion. Their success can be attributed to operating with integrity and sustainable farming practices. These definitive traits have brought a long line of farming to an eager fourth generation who are now learning what it means to bring a quality product to the marketplace. Columbia Valley Family Farms provides the excellence its customers have come to expect over the last 35 years through the implementation of several intentional steps. Its aspara- gus is hand harvested and precisely cut daily from its fields that are only a mere 10 miles away. Then, within 24 hours, the raw products are transported to the fresh pack- ing lines or the processing plant for pick- ling. Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company Expanding Sweet things are happening at Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company. In late 2018, the company purchased a second facility to expand its manufacturing, warehousing and distribution for its con- tinued national expansion. With the addi- tional space at the factory, a third Swiss Knobel One-Shot line was ordered as well as a high-speed wrapper from Italy, chocolate melters and an additional cool- ing tower. The entire line is being installed in early 2019, which brings a total investment to over $2,000,000 in the last 12 months. In September of 2018, Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company also became SQF certified, making the factory GFSI compliant. This has allowed the company to expand its private label and contract manufactur- ing business as well. The manufacturing facility is also partially powered by solar energy, uses only LED lighting and recy- cles all of its cardboard that comes into the facili- ty. Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company is known for its craft chocolate bars, mini bars and caramel bites. The company's new equipment has given it the ability to make these new products and add excit- ing new flavors to each line. Many of the popular flavors include Waffle Cone Caramel, BEE-Berry Honey Caramel, Sea Salt Caramel, Peanut Butter & Banana, Key Lime Pie, Happy Birthday, Italian Cannoli, Blood Orange Caramel and Strawberry & Champagne Truffle, to name a few. There are two scheduled releases for new products in 2019. Founded in 1981, Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company is owned and operated by the Abel family, who works at the factory every day alongside a team of artisan chocolatiers. The company started out as a small retail store and candy kitchen and has expanded across the county through its Wholesale and Contract Manufacturing Division. The company has seven production lines, all of which run daily.
