Aftermarket Daily News Tuesday, October 30, 2018 6 6 Ditch Hitch Serious About Vehicle Recovery Safety The Ditch Hitch is the only vehicle recovery system on the market certified by a professional engineer to be shock loaded. The forces involved in extracting a vehicle stuck in mud, snow or sand are enormous. The Ditch Hitch is the safest way to free a vehicle because it's designed specifically for handling dynamic loads. Towing chains, straps with hooks and other systems can eas- ily support heavy weight but they are only suitable for static-load applica- tions like winching and hoisting. They are prone to breaking under dynamic loads experienced during vehicle recovery. Used in conjunction with nylon recovery straps or ropes with eyelets, no metal fixtures, the Ditch Hitch eliminates the use of chains, slings with tail chains, tow ropes with hooks, shackles, trailer balls and pintle hitches, etc. These items were never intended to withstand dynamic, shock load forces often needed to get unstuck. HPS Performance 2004-2007 Subaru WRX STi 2.5L Turbo Black Shortram Air Intake & Heat Shield Built for performance and show, the HPS Black shortram air intake kit (Part 27-606WB) for 2004-2007 Subaru WRX STi 2.5L Turbo offers a free- flowing 2.75-inch mandrel-bent alu- minum tube induction system designed to produce dyno proven performance gains. The heavy duty powder coated steel heat shield included in the kit blocks out the heat from the engine and maximize the cooling effect. The kit does not require tuning and does not trigger CEL light. No modification is required during the installation. HPS lightweight 2.75- inch mandrel-bent aluminum alloy pip- ing replace the stock restrictive air box and optimize the air flow with long last- ing durability. It features 4-ply reinforced silicone hoses and industrial grade 100 percent stainless steel T-bolt clamps, which ensure the durability and reliability dur- ing the extreme driving condition. The included K&N High-Flow filter is designed to provide an increased sur- face area and dust capacity. This extra surface area provides even more airflow at lower restriction than a standard replacement filter that is limited to the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures more dirt, increasing the service life before a cleaning is required. KISAE Expands Charger Line-Up with Launch of DC-DC Models KISAE Technology has rapidly become a recognized name in the power electronics business, and its line of battery chargers is expanding with the launch of DC-DC battery chargers. The KISAE smart DC-DC battery chargers can charge the auxiliary house bank from the engine alternator or from a solar panel. These compact chargers come in 30A (DMT1230) and 50A (DMT1250) sizes and provide a micro- processor controlled three-stage battery charger to the auxiliary battery. The dual input may be either the engine battery alternator or MPPT (maximum power point tracking) solar which maximizes the solar panel input and shortens recharging time. "Many people today are adopting the van conversion lifestyle, where they con- vert a van into a living space on wheels for part-time travel, long trips, and – in some cases – full-time living," says Lawrence Neill, Director. "One of the most important considerations is the electrical system, and many people wish to go without the need to hook up to shore power at all. That means that they need to limit their energy usage as much as possible, and they must be able to charge the house battery bank while driv- ing as well as when parked for a few days via solar." With the KISAE DMT series, the user may adjust their charging current by 5A increments, and the products are very flexible in that they may use one battery chemistry in the starter battery (say AGM battery) and charge a different battery chemistry in the auxiliary bank (say, a lithium house bank). The microprocessor makes these chargers very smart and allow users to maximize their electrical system while working with their pre- ferred components for solar panels and batteries. Ideal for boaters, RVers, and truck owners with household battery banks, the KISAE DC-DC battery chargers ensure rapid and complete battery charging in applications where AC household power is not available. About KISAE Technology KISAE Technology Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of renewable energy solutions that are elegantly simple and ready to use. With a North American Headquarters in Surrey, BC, KISAE's founders possess over 25 years experience in alternative energy and portable power markets. Its line of DC-AC power invert- ers, inverter-chargers, battery chargers, solar charge controllers and power sta- tions are solar through aftermarket chan- nels and directly to vehicle manufacturers in North America and worldwide.
