Aftermarket Daily News Tuesday, October 30, 2018 1 0 A Tool You'll Love for the Jobs You Don't Dustless Blasting ® is the world's fastest, most cost-effective and envi- ronmentally friendly surface prepara- tion tool. It does everything a sandblaster can do, but better. With Dustless Blasting, you can strip paint and coat- ings faster, use less media and never worry about containing a plume of dust. So how does it work? The Dustless Blaster mixes water and abrasive inside the blast tank. During blasting, the water encapsulates the abrasive and the coating being removed. Instead of becoming air- borne, the trapped abrasive falls to the ground, keeping surrounding areas clean and free from mess. This allows you to blast in open environments, even when others are working nearby. Plus, you will save money on containment and cleanup costs. By introducing water, Dustless Blasting is also drastically increasing the mass and energy the machine is putting out. Think of it this way – would you rather throw a handful of wet sand or dry sand at a target? The dry sand wouldn't have much impact on the target, but it would blow in the wind and make a big mess. The same amount of wet sand would hit the tar- get with more force, and wouldn't blow in the wind. Additionally, this allows you to use less media and work more efficiently. This not only speeds up your production time, but also cuts your con- sumables cost. What about rust? Dustless Blasting not only strips away old paint and rust, but actually cleans the surface that you are blasting so that it is free of contaminants and soluble salts that cause flash rust. In addition to this, the Rust Inhibitor leaves a freshly stripped surface primer ready for up to 72 hours. This makes it the per- fect method of paint stripping for the automotive restoration business. Auto restoration experts also love Dustless Blasting because it can be used on all metals with no fear of fric- tion, heat or warping of the surfaces. The water used in the blasting process helps to keep the surface about 10 degrees cooler than the ambi- ent air temperature. This helps to eliminate the surface heat generated by friction. No surface heat means no warping. If you're ready to up your restoration game, stop by booth #24693! SATA's RPS Cups Speed Up Productivity and Improve Color Matching SATA ® RPS ® Multipurpose Cups save not only time, but paint and cleaning materials too. The SATA RPS Rapid Preparation System is a vented system that allows a constant and even flow-rate, for constant color match and constant film build from a full cup down to the last drop. The SATA RPS cups have a unique venting system that plays into the effi- ciency of the overall SATA system. The vents allow for an even flow rate through the cup – so, whether the cup is entirely full, half full or just has a couple ounces in it, the flow rate will stay the same. The vented RPS cups allow for all of the paint and other materials to be sprayed from the cup. No costly ounces of leftover unused material in an RPS cup. Mix only what you need, and spray it to the last drop. The cups can be used for mixing, spraying, and when the job is complete, storage. For SATA spray gun users there's no need to buy additional mixing cups or cans – and the cups require no adapters. They mount directly to SATA spray guns. Each case of SATA RPS includes the cups, strainers of your choice and lids. No additional accessories are needed. Each time you use a new RPS cup, you have a clean sterile cup that does not deliver accidental contamina- tion from previous jobs into your paint work. RPS Cup Benefits Bendable: The RPS cups also have the built-in flexibility of the cup lid "neck" which allows painters to tilt the cups forward or side to side to spray at many different angles, on parts, rocker panels and bumper cov- ers. This flexibility assists in making the RPS a great solution for more difficult paint jobs. Excluding the 0.3L minijet version. Clean: With SATA RPS, removing the cup from the spray gun becomes a clean and safe process. When the paint job is finished, squeeze the RPS cup and close the vent cap to create a vacuum inside. Now turn the spray gun upside down and pull the trigger to empty the material passage, ensuring easy gun cleaning and a tidy workplace. Safe: Occasionally during the paint process, the materi- al cup may acciden- tally knock into the vehicle or panel stand. Due to the robust threaded connection between the cup and the lid, any chance of the cup becoming detached is avoided, as is the chance to spill paint. Refillable: Refilling paint during the application process is sometimes neces- sary. The design of the cup allows the simple and clean topping off and the easy exchange of the material filter, if required. To try the cost-effective SATA RPS cups in your shop, ask your local SATA dealer for samples or for a demonstration.
