Aftermarket Daily News 3 9 Thursday, November 1, 2018 Winhere Receives Prestigious Green Manufacturers Award The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People's Republic of China released the winners of the National Green Manufacturers Award and Winhere Auto-Part Manufacturing Co., Ltd is an honored recipient of this coveted national award. The awards are part of China's aggressive Industrial Green Development Plan to recognize those key China manufacturers from the top six energy consuming industries who meet and exemplify the MIIT standards established for green manufacturing. The plan focuses on improving energy efficiency and technical capabilities, reducing pollution and emissions and accelerating green manufacturing sys- tems. Only 409 companies out of several million China manufacturers were hon- ored with this distinction. "We are thrilled that our parent company is the only brake parts manufacturer in China to receive this honor," said Jimmy Shum, President Winhere Brake Parts, Inc., "Protecting the environment and preserving our precious resources has always been a foundation rooted in our company. We will continue to invest heavily in lean and green manufacturing saving energy and benefitting our envi- ronment." Genovation Cars: The Green Car Company By Steve Keyes, Communications Director, Centigrade for Genovation Cars Genovation's long-term goal is to be a pre- mier provider of high performance sustain- able automobiles. Genovation is commit- ted to advancing the state of the art in EV technology with the knowledge that per- formance EVs will accelerate the delivery of sustainable products for future genera- tions. The Genovation GXE Corvette all electric supercar has broken several signif- icant world records on multiple occasions while reimagining an American icon. Genovation is raising the bar in energy storage, propulsion, composite and sus- pension technologies. We ask our cus- tomers to join us on this journey. In recent years, several issues have converged to create a demand for the kind of vehicle Genovation builds: Climate change, due to high carbon dioxide emissions, is now a widely accepted fact. As a global community, we must all take whatever actions we can to reduce harmful greenhouse gases. A recent draft report from the US Government titled Climate Science Special Report finds it "extremely likely that more than half of the rise in temper- ature over the past four decades has been caused by human activity." There has been an increase in the awareness of the negative effects of air pollution, especially on the young and old. The World Health Organization has estimated that up to 2.4 million people a year die from causes direct- ly attributed to air pollution. Research has shown a corre- lation between air pollution and the incidences of asthma, particularly among children. As atmospheric CO 2 levels rise, the gas dissolves into our oceans, causing the water to become more acidic. Ocean acidification negatively impacts biodi- versity and is particularly damaging to shellfish and kelp, putting fisheries around the globe at risk. The Genovation team is comprised of a small and capable group of engineers and automotive experts that are commit- ted to building world class products. In order to achieve this goal, Genovation has teamed with one of the world's preeminent contract manufacturers, The Prefix Corporation, to make the GXE a reality. Steeped in Detroit and European automo- tive know how, Prefix is helping make the GXE a stylish, robust, world class electric supercar. At the same time, we have teamed with a number of smaller technology companies, like Stafl Systems, that bring a fresh approach to innovation in the automotive sector. The combination of large and small, of traditional and new organizations, has resulted in the creation of the world's fastest certified street legal electric supercar, the Genovation GXE. The ideal location for a C-RAN Hub or Base Station Hotel is often a problem for access to a suitable outdoor antenna loca- tion for the GPS antennas. This distance issue is easily solved using the Optical Zonu GPS Fiber Transport, which has made it the only solution approved by all four U.S. mobile wireless service providers. The compact, flexible GPS- over-Fiber product installs easily with no adjustments needed. The patented optical alarm reporting permits a simple integra- tion of the link alarms into the base sta- tion and DAS monitor and control sys- tem without the need for any additional software setup. Now, Optical Zonu has released an evolution of the GPS Fiber Transport product that includes a higher RF out- put port count and auto-switchover redundancy. These features, along with the NEBS Level 3 certification, make this solution the preferred method of distributing the GPS signal to the BBUs at your C-RAN Hub. A single, compact fiber transmitter and a low cost 1x8 optical splitter can provide up to 128 GPS RF connec- tions with auto- switchover to a backup GPS antenna. With the 2-fiber version of the transmitter, you can increase the system reliability with an alternate fiber path. With this approach, the GPS RF sig- nal is routed throughout your C-RAN Hub or Base Station hotel over thin, lightweight fiber instead of thick, bulky coaxial cable. The GPS Fiber Transport receivers are then distributed in the racks with the BBUs with only a short, light- weight RF jumper needed to complete the connection. The system is cost- effective and scalable. As your C-RAN Hub grows, the GPS Fiber Transport is easily expanded to accom- modate the new services and sectors. GPS Fiber Transport can also be configured to support a mix of direct con- nections to BBUs and remote connec- tions to distributed radios. A fiber can be routed with the Ethernet backhaul twist- ed pair to a compact fiber receiver con- nected to the radio auxiliary GPS antenna port. For more information, visit www.optical zonu.com.
