Construction Marketplace Tuesday, January 9, 2018 1 8 EPA Approves ICC-ES as a Licensed Certifier of Spray Sprinkler Bodies ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), an expert in plumbing product evaluation and certification, has been transitionally approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the WaterSense program as a licensed certifi- er of spray sprinkler bodies. ICC-ES can now evaluate and certify such products to the EPA specification (which references ICC/ASABE 802). "We are pleased to receive this approval and license to certify spray sprinkler bodies under the EPA's WaterSense program," said ICC-ES Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Director Dawn LaFleur-Qualley. "With this approval, ICC-ES PMG can help more manufacturers earn the WaterSense label and increase efficient water use." The following specification is appli- cable to spray sprinkler bodies with inte- gral pressure regulation under the WaterSense program: Spray Sprinkler Body with Integral Pressure Regulation – The exterior case or shell of a sprinkler incorporating a means of connection to the piping system designed to convey water to a nozzle or orifice which includes an integral device that maintains constant operating pressure immediately down- stream from the device, given higher upstream pressure. In addition, ICC-ES PMG can also certify products to AB1953, NSF/ANSI 372, S.3874 (Federal Law for Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water) and other high-efficiency products such as toilets, bathroom sink faucets, urinals, shower- heads, weather-based irrigation controllers and flushometer- valve water toilets to the requirements of WaterSense. M a n u f a c t u r e r s and distributors who produce or sell these products are eligible for certification. Black stainless transforms typical kitchen appliances into sleek, modern, visual kitchen centerpieces. In addition to its fresh and attractive visual appeal, black stainless steel resists fingerprints, making it a breeze to keep clean. Pretty and prac- tical, black stainless steel is an increasing- ly popular choice for consumers. The range hood is one of the most important appliances in the kitchen. Not only is it vital to enhancing kitchen design, it also protects you, your family and dinner guests from the hazards of cooking byproducts like carbon monoxide, danger- ous fumes and bad odors. In fact, accord- ing to the EPA, indoor air quality is two to five times more toxic than outdoor air quality, making the range hood one of the most important appliances in your home. With the debut of their new models, Broan-NuTone combines the important functionality of range hoods with the striking style and form of black stainless steel. Several of the new models feature the Captur™ System, which allows con- sumers to enjoy new stylish, modern designs and advanced features, all while benefiting from the most effective capture of any range hood or over-the-range microwave in its class. Broan's new black stainless steel range hood series is available in five shapes, pushing the design envelope of typical under-cabinet and chimney range hoods. The five shapes include four under- cabinet hoods: Broan brand Alta, Glacier and Corteo, as well as NuTone brand Antero, and a Broan Elite chimney hood. The sculpted lines of Alta, Antero and Corteo offer a sophisticated, sleek look, different from any typical range hood shape. The clean, contemporary shape of Glacier complements any kitchen aesthet- ic, modern or traditional. Elite's tradition- al European design will update your kitchen with a fresh new look. The NuTone Mantra has a refined, yet substan- tial shape that brings a fresh look to any traditional or transitional kitchen design. For more information, visit www.broan.com.
