Construction Marketplace 6 1 Wednesday, January 10, 2018 through policies, procedures and process- es are central to the company's mission of providing solutions for the most com- fortable indoor environment possible. Customers expect this from a recognized leader, and Goodman Manufacturing expects it from itself, every day. Goodman products are ISO 9001- certified, an independent standard accepted worldwide as the benchmark for quality manufacturing processes, and ISO 1400-certified, an international envi- ronmental certification Quality begins with employee train- ing, and it all starts in the training rooms (or Dojos, as commonly referred to at the Goodman facility). Time spent in the training rooms is designed to help main- tain and elevate the quality of its prod- ucts. One of the most critical skills of heating and cooling products is manual copper and aluminum brazing. Employees who specialize in brazing complete a program where they learn the- ory and correct brazing techniques. Innovative equipment on the manu- facturing floor is critical to delivering the highest quality product available. The assembly line is made up of modular con- veyors. Thanks to this modular technolo- gy and specialized robotic equipment, parts are safely picked up and placed on specific conveyors and slides. This advanced method improves production Goodman Manufacturing (Cont'd. from p. 1) efficiency and reduces touch points that can often occur with manual assembly. Goodman also utilizes the Autobrazers. Autobrazers are used in the manufacturing of evaporator and con- denser coils for heat pumps and air con- ditioners. This brazing manifold, which provides an accurate placement of the flame, ensures quality brazing and con- sistency across all coil joints. This accu- racy is verified by Pressure Decay Leak Detection equipment. This quality-con- trol procedure greatly reduces incidences of potential leaks between the coil fabri- cation and assembly processes. Continuous product testing occurs as Goodman products move through the assembly process to ensure consistent quality control. Leak detection occurs on all Goodman brand products. Beyond brazing, leak detection is one of the most critical processes to ensure product qual- ity and reliability. Each evaporator coil and condenser coil goes through an auto- mated leak test using state-of-the-art quality testing equipment. Each air conditioner, heat pump, air handler and gas furnace is tested fully before leaving the assembly line. This comprehensive test checks the perform- ance of all operation cycles. These tests check for motor operation, fan operation and equipment start up, just to name a few. In Mike's own words, the lift, "allows Susan to get out of the house in her remaining days, to the doctor or sim- ply to smell the flowers. As everyone on this end knows, I became a little bit attached to the project and specifically the cause as it and she became near and dear to my heart ... I like to think this is Garaventa Lift (Cont'd. from p. 4) what we are all about, helping those in need." For her part, Susan appreciated the effort.
