Construction Marketplace 2 3 Wednesday, January 11, 2017 PERSPECTIVES TEXTURED DOORGLASS LINE OFFERS NEW PRIVACY OPTIONS ODL, Inc., a leading building products supplier of decorative and clear door glass and entry treatments, has intro- duced a new line: Perspectives textured doorglass. Based on recent consumer research, ODL learned that both Millennials and Baby Boomers seek similar options when it comes to making front door purchase decisions. Homeowners are mostly look- ing for privacy and personalization, a trend which only seems to be gaining momentum. To meet the needs of these discerning homeowners, ODL's Perspectives line of textured privacy door glass was launched. The diverse collection was inspired by different textures, patterns, terrain, objects and cultural influences. Perspectives satisfies the demands of beautiful aesthetics and curb appeal as well as privacy by offering seven new glass textures – Blanca, Cumulus, Geo- Tex, Mosaic, Linen, Streamed and Vapor – in addition to its existing popular tex- tures of privacy glass, Micro-Granite and Rain. "Homeowners are looking for door- glass that provides a balance of beautiful texture and light and privacy control at their entry," said Roger Finch, Senior Channel Manager, ODL USA. "Perspectives encompasses the privacy and minimalist aesthetics homeowners have been wanting." The new Blanca texture offers a frosted, slightly stippled surface. Cumulus has a resemblance to the pat- terns of clouds, combining indentations with wave patterns. Geo-Tex is a pattern that is reminiscent of the pottery of Native Americans or weavings found in Moroccan markets; it has a strong sym- metrical appearance and a raised reflec- tive pattern. Mosaic finds inspiration in the cobblestone streets of historic vil- lages and the soft reflections of a stony streambed; the result is an angular, subtle pattern of light. Streamed has a pro- nounced vertical pattern and strong ribbed texture, creating the illusion of the organic flow of water in your entryway. Vapor features soft waves and ripples that are reminiscent of Northern Lights, and creates an ethereal play of light and shad- ow for your entryway. Linen is reminis- cent of soft linen fabrics, complementing either a casual or formally styled entry- way, and the etched white glass with a silkscreened woven pattern offers high privacy. The existing texture of Micro- Granite blends texture and pat- tern to create a surface remi- niscent of small textured pol- ished pebbles, and Rain fea- tures a vertical pattern and tex- tured surface that creates the illusion of rain trickling down a window. The Perspectives textured doorglass line meets rigorous quality standards for air resistance, water resistance and door slamming. The products are certified by the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC), which evaluates glass performance, durability and longevity. Additionally, the doorglass must survive ODL's in-house test of 125,000 slam cycles before it's introduced to the mar- ket. About ODL, Inc. ICC-ES EXPANDS SCC SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION TO ROOF COVERING SYSTEM ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), the experts in building product evaluation and certification, has expanded its cur- rent scope of accreditation through the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to include evaluation of fire-classified roof covering systems to the provisions of the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) and CAN/ULC-S107, "Methods of Fire Tests of Roof Coverings." This new SCC scope extension allows ICC-ES report holders to apply for recognition under the National Building Code of Canada and CAN/ULC-S107 for roof covering prod- ucts, components and systems that have been qualified to the requirements of ASTM E108 and UL 790. This is great news for roof manufac- turers seeking Canadian distribution for their roof covering products, components and systems, according to ICC-ES Quality Systems Director David Pereg, P.E. "This is another example of ICC-ES continuing to deliver on its pledge to find more ways to add value to the ICC-ES listings obtained by manufacturers," he said. The Building Products Listing Program for the Canadian market pro- vides manufacturers a way to indicate to code officials, designers and specifiers that products comply with consensus standards refer- enced in the National Building Code of Canada. Manufacturers can go to jurisdictions in both the U.S. and Canada and have their products readily approved by code officials of the two countries. Call 800.423.6587, ext. 1 to speak to an ICC-ES Connect+ Customer Care rep- resentative or email es@icc-es.org today to find out if your products may qualify for this program. About ICC-ES A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States' leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems. ICC-ES Evaluation Reports (ESRs), Building Product Listings and PMG Listings provide evidence that products and systems meet requirements of codes and technical stan- dards. The ICC-ES Environmental Programs issue VAR environmen- tal reports that verify a product meets specific sustainability targets defined by today's codes, stan- dards, green rating systems and ICC- ES environmental criteria. The Environmental Programs now offer Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), to meet global market demand for science-based, transparent, quality- assured information about a product's environmental performance.
