H o s p i ta l i t y & D e s i g n S h o w D a i l y Tu e s d a y, J u n e 1 0 , 2 0 1 4 8 1 ReSource can supply everything you need to build an office chair from its warehouses in Toronto and California. In addition to this, 1 ReSource is con- stantly revisiting its designs to come up with better, innovative ways to bring quality office seating compo- nents to its customers. This past year, 1 ReSource has intro- duced 17 new stocking and custom pro- grams and is always developing more. One program in particular is the synchro tilt mechanism, which is a great mecha- nism for the end user to understand and operate, as it is very user friendly. 1 ReSource calls this mechanism the NBC004S. The NBC004S synchro tilt mecha- nism is equipped with side tension adjustment, side activated four-position anti-kick lock, seat height and integrated seat slider. The side activated levers allow the occupant to adjust the mecha- nism features without leaving the com- fort of the chair. However, Darren Pearcey, Sales Manager of 1 ReSource, has found that even though the synchro tilt mechanisms are very easy to operate and provide some adjustability, they are missing a key feature of the full ergonomic factor. Based on this, 1 ReSource has added a separate back angle adjustment feature onto the NBC004S mechanism platform. This allows the occupant to modify the back angle of the chair separately from the mechanism seat angle. This feature also provides a full range of adjustment to fit most body types. The newly designed NBC004S-01 features a euro- back or straight back option, providing manufacturers and designers more ergonomic options. 1 ReSource has also found that not all of its components meet every cus- tomer's requirements, and in this case it is able to provide the customer with a custom program. The customer would provide a drawing to 1 ReSource, who would then call in its engineering and design team and prototype the new component to the customer's exact spec- ifications. This is custom for that cus- tomer and that customer only. 1 ReSource will either keep that part in stock in one of its warehouses, the cus- tomer can then pull stock as they need it, or the customer can choose to buy in bulk and ship directly from 1 ReSource's overseas factories. The end result is creating innovative new designs for quality office chair com- ponents, while consistently meeting cus- tomers' requirements with on-time deliv- ery – key factors in the success of the company. Imagine an invention that is so revolu- tionary that the problem becomes the solution. Most of the people in our indus- try understand that the most flammable part of any furniture is the polyurethane foam. When foam is ignited on a piece of upholstered furniture, it quickly produces so much heat and smoke that occupants and fire fighters are fortunate if they escape alive. Preventing or delaying the ignition of the foam in furniture-related fires is key to reducing fatalities. If "flash over" does not occur as quickly and harmful combustion gases are reduced, we have made improvements in fire safety. Imagine that we can greatly reduce the chances that the polyurethane foam will ignite from a cigarette or small flame source. Small fires will not become large fires as fast, or perhaps not at all. Traditional FR polyurethane foams have several deficiencies. They are often uncomfortable and fatigue quick- ly. They often contain brominated or chlorinated flame retardants with toxic- ity and bio accumulation issues. Some FR foams simply melt into liquid pools of polymer and generate large volumes of smoke when they come into contact with fire. Firewall Foam does not melt like tra- ditional polyurethane foams. It does not support combustion and produces almost no smoke. Firewall Foam contains no ingredients listed on California Proposition 65 nor any halogenated flame retardants. Firewall Foam is available in roll form, either with or without supporting scrims. This is ideal to cover many areas of upholstered furniture where conven- tional foams are needed anyway. Firewall Foam becomes the fire barrier interliner in those applications. PETER PEPPER PRODUCTS INTRODUCES SLALOM MODULAR AND ACOUSTICAL PARTITIONS All ECO Slalom panels are composed of 100 percent polyester from recycled materials, finished in fire retardant Eco- fabrics. The flexible panels can be con- figured into a series of curves, straight runs and corner partitions for dividing and defining space. EcoFlex panels contain 100 percent polyester fiber that pro- vides good acoustical cor- rection and helps control ambient noise levels, while remaining ecologically friendly. EcoFlex panels are finished in the Trevira CS Mirage col- lection. NRC Rating = 0.49. EcoStrong are rigid, non-flexible sound absorbent panels finished in Trevira CS fabrics. They are ideal for areas requiring more stability, and can be configured in straight runs and perpendi- cular intersections. NRC Rating = 0.79. EcoTex panels have soft acoustic performance characteristics finished in a denier textured polyester fabric, and are recyclable. EcoTex panels can be cus- tomized in all Pantone ® colors, digital graphics, patterns, logos and way finding graphics. 0-360 flexibility. EcoPanels and EcoWood have soft acoustic performance characteristics, are recyclable and available in patterns and color, printed with water-based inks. 0- 360 flexibility. EcoWall panels contain 100 percent polyester fiber that provides good acoustical correction and help control ambient noise levels, while remaining ecologically friendly. EcoWall panels are finished in the Trevira CS fabrics. Mounted with double sided tape. NRC Rating = .70. Composed of 100 percent polyester fiber from recycled PET plas- tic, Slalom EcoPanels are a sustainable materi- al, produced via a low energy manufac- turing process, and once their use is complete, each Slalom EcoPanel is recyclable. Slalom panels are infinitely adjustable, flexible and fireproof. The panel curvature is determined by mov- ing the uprights closer or farther apart. Slalom is quick and easy to install with standard models available in 49-inch and 72-inch heights and widths from 42 inches to 164 inches. • Base Plates: Steel, 9-3/4 inch dia. Aluminum metallic finish. • Uprights: Aluminum extrusion, anodized aluminum finish. • EcoFlex panel thermo-bonded sound absorbent flexible panel. • Eco-fabrics: 100 percent polyester FR (Trevira CS) class 1 fire rating. Modular. Flexible. Recyclable. SLALOM. Visit Peter Pepper Products in showroom 1094 at NeoCon. For more information, go to www.peterpepper.com.
