Aftermarket Daily News 4 7 Friday, November 2, 2018 Ivan Tampi Customs Makes a XIK C7 Corvette Have you ever seen a crazy widebody C7 Corvette as XIK as this? Yes, XIK as in sick is the latest works of Ivan Tampi Customs. Ivan created his XIK widebody kit as a limited edition for his exclu- sive one-of-a-kind builds for his cus- tomers. So exclusive in fact that there is only 100 of the XIK widebody kits being produced and numbered for ITC. His new C7 Corvette creation has had the likes of customers from France to Thailand to Dubai and of course the USA. The kit is a hand laid carbon fiber package that is a direct bolt onto the stock bolts and consists of 15 pieces total to complete the exclusive build. Ivan, who launched his new compa- ny as his comeback from being a body kit designer from the late '90s and early 2000s designing the well known Black Widow body kits and Street Fyghter kits for the imports, vows we haven't seen anything yet. Introducing the EyeQue Insight EyeQue™, developers of award winning, affordable vision technologies, announced the EyeQue Insight™ visual acuity screener, the fun, fast and accurate way to test clarity of distance vision and to track vision changes over time. The EyeQue Insight is the world's first gami- fied 20/20 screener, combining a binocu- lar viewer, a mobile application and cloud-based service. Low-cost, rugged and convenient, the Insight is ideal for families, school administrators, group organizations and charities. Insight is suited for international use with support for 20/20, 6/6 and other standardized units. EyeQue Optometry Advisor, Careen Caputo, O.D., MPH states that, "The Insight visual acuity screener is a major technological advancement in personal- ized health monitoring, allowing people to assess their visual acuity in the com- fort of their home. The Insight's random tumbling-E chart provides a simple and accurate measurement of an individual's visual acuity. This is a valuable benefit to patients, allowing them to check how well they see without correction – or with their current glasses or contact lenses." "There is a global myopia epidemic in part due to increasing time spent indoors and heavy use of mobile phones and laptops. The recommended annual doctor's visit is insufficient in detecting the rapid onset of nearsightedness, which occurs in up to 40 percent of children, ages 6-18," said John Serri, PhD, Chief Technology Officer and co-Founder of EyeQue. "When caught early enough, mitigation can be taken, avoiding life- long burdens associated with severe myopia. Our goal is to get low-cost, accurate vision screening tools like the EyeQue Insight directly into people's hands so vision changes can be identified early." The EyeQue Insight: screens vision for 20/20 to 20/400 in under 3 minutes, providing exact measures of single and dual eye performance; creates a digital vision history– where a change indicates that a doctor's visit would be advised; tests the accuracy of current glasses or contacts, indicating when an updated pre- scription may be required; instantly records and securely stores results, mak- ing data available to share with others. One EyeQue Insight can be shared with many people, making it a value for fami- lies and suitable for testing large groups. About EyeQue Insight The conventional wall chart used to assess visual acuity in most physicians' offices requires a 20-foot testing distance and a person to administer the test. Illuminated charts used in eye care prac- tices can optically reduce the testing dis- tance and control for lighting challenges found with static wall charts, but still require someone to administer the test. The EyeQue Insight allows adults and children 6 and above to self-adminis- ter a visual acuity test anywhere, any- time using their own supported smart- phone. The light-weight, rugged binocu- lar viewer attaches to a smartphone and uses the myEyeQue app to administer the test. The Insight can be used to track vision changes and to test the accuracy of current glasses or contacts. One EyeQue Insight can be shared with multiple peo- ple, each using individual accounts to ensure accurate records. The binocular viewer is part of an expandable platform, supporting future vision tests and appli- cations. About EyeQue EyeQue is on a global mission to elevate eye care. The company is dedicated to inspiring people to learn about and care for their eyes by putting affordable, accu- rate vision tests directly into their hands. Based on patented technologies, EyeQue's intelligent vision solutions allow people anywhere to self-administer vision tests using an optical smartphone attachment, mobile application and a secure cloud-based service. The compa- ny innovates from its Silicon Valley headquarters. Intel Introduces Portfolio of Commercial 5G New Radio Modems Intel ® announced substantial advances in its wireless product roadmap to acceler- ate the adoption of 5G. Highlights include the introduction of the Intel XMM™ 8000 series, Intel's first family of 5G new radio (5G NR) multi-mode commercial modems, and Intel's latest LTE modem, the Intel XMM 7660. Intel also announced it has successfully com- pleted a full end-to-end 5G call based on its early 5G silicon, the Intel 5G Modem – a key milestone in its development. Finally, the Intel XMM 7560 modem unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2017 has achieved gigabit-class speeds. "Intel is committed to delivering leading 5G multi-mode modem technolo- gy and making sure the transition to 5G is smooth," said Dr. Cormac Conroy, Intel Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Communication and Devices Group. "Our investments in a full portfolio of modem technologies and products are critical to achieving the vision of seamless 5G connectivity." 5G is more than the device; it requires a cloud-ready, virtualized 5G network. Intel is unique in bringing the network, cloud and clients together in a powerful end-to-end 5G solution. "Today's wireless networks are the equivalent of data driving down a single- lane highway; tomorrow's will need to serve as a multilane superhighway as data moves at warp speed with 5G net- works," said Sandra Rivera, Intel Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Network Platforms Group. "Our roadmap progress shows how Intel is moving at gigabit speeds to help the industry create this superhighway and benefit from the speed, capacity and low latency that 5G promises." A summary of Intel's wireless roadmap updates includes: Intel XMM 8000 series: Intel's fami- ly of commercial 5G multi-mode modems, operating in both sub-6 GHz and millimeter wave global spectrum bands. The series will enable a range of devices to connect to 5G networks – from PCs and phones to fixed wireless consumer prem- ise equipment (CPE) and even vehicles. Intel XMM 8060: Intel's first com- mercial 5G modem is capable of deliver- ing multi-mode support for the full 5G non-standalone and standalone NR, as well as various 2G, 3G (including CDMA) and 4G legacy modes. Expected to ship in commercial customer devices in mid-2019, the Intel XMM 8060 will accelerate deployment of 5G-ready devices prior to anticipated broad deployment of 5G networks in 2020. Intel XMM 7660: Intel's latest LTE modem delivers Cat-19 capabilities and supports speeds up to 1.6 gigabits per second. This powerful LTE modem fea- tures advanced multiple-input and multi- ple-output (MIMO), carrier aggregation and a broad range of band support. It will ship in commercial devices in 2019. Additionally, Intel is helping set the pace for the industry with the Intel 5G Modem. Intel's early 5G silicon is suc- cessfully making calls over the 28GHz band. Along with the Intel Mobile Trial Platform, Intel technology is at the heart of dozens of trials around the world, giv- ing Intel and the industry valuable learn- ings about the technologies that will make 5G a reality.
