The National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) is a non-profit trade association in the wireless infrastructure industry providing a uni- fied voice for tower construction, service and maintenance companies. Today the Association boasts over 820 member companies located throughout the United States, Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Jamaica, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, and Trinidad and Tobago. Like so many others, NATE is greatly interested in the enormous commercial potential offered by unmanned aerial systems (UAS), popularly referred to as drones. As an organization committed to safety and quality, NATE believes that the use of UAS can substantially enhance the safety of tower workers and the efficiency of work con- ducted at tower sites. There are hundreds of thousands of communication and broadcast towers – some approaching 2,000 feet in height – throughout the United States alone that will have to be inspected, serviced and maintained for the rest of their service life. Highlights include: used by top cellular companies; high performing, lower cost; most available with adhesive By Arun Bhikshesvaran, Head of Strategy, Ericsson North America As the standardization of 5G progresses, it's time to begin laying the groundwork for the coming transformation of your business, the way customers value your company and associated evolution of technology platforms. It's time to explore new markets and services that are being conceptualized, creating the space for further innovation. It's also the time to improve LTE performance and set the stage for 5G technology invest- ments. It's time to choose Ready, because the future winners in the coming 5G world are busy developing their strategies today. Picking Your Target(s): Emerging 5G Business Cases Developing a winning 5G strategy requires choices on the areas of engagement. There are three major categories of use cases for 5G: Enhanced Mobile Broadband, Massive Unlike smartphones or tablets, 75 percent of Internet of Things (IoT) applications use less than one megabyte of data per month, according to James Brehm & Associates, which is why MultiTech has taken the lead in delivering low-power, wide area networking technologies for IoT including its award-winning suite of LoRa ® technology- based modules and gateways. MultiTech has the indus- try's first LTE Category M and NB-IoT end devices. This full range of embedded and finished devices leverages the cellular industry's first foray into low-cost, low-bandwidth, low-power devices, which addresses the unique needs of Internet of Things applications to deliver just right connectivity on licensed spectrum so customers can experience the benefits of LPWA while also enjoy- ing the flexibility of an opex-based subscription with their choice of cellular carrier. They deliver on the promise of low cost and long life for customers seeking to replace 2G or 3G product in the field.
