JORDAN MANUFACTURING TAKES GUESSWORK OUT OF DROP SHIPPING Jordan Manufacturing Company Inc. is a leader in the e-commerce business that has exploded in the past 10 years. It has taken the guesswork out of the drop ship business, and has helped numerous companies start and expand their businesses by offering fast reli- able products that are custom made in the United States. Orders are transmitted to Jordan Manufacturing directly from cus- tomers via EDI and immediately trans- ferred into its system. Once the system captures the order, it is processed in the appropriate department and a work order is initiated. Each work order is tracked every step through the produc- tion process. After the order has been printed, it goes to the floor to be processed – this usually happens with- in the first four hours upon receipt of the order. The first step is the cutting of the material. Jordan Manufacturing custom makes each order, as it does not have items sitting on the shelf manufactured ahead of time. Next, the sewers receive the fabric and scan the barcode. Each sewer has a notebook that shows the color of the fabric and an image of the finished product. This ensures that the correct item is being sewn, and if there is not a perfect match, a supervi- sor is immediately contacted and the process is stopped. If everything is a match, it is sewn and then sent to the stuffing department. The cushion will be filled per specification with either foam or fiber, which Jordan produces, or a combination of both. Next comes the closing and inspection of the cush- ion. Each cushion is individually boxed to ensure that it arrives in the best possible shape. Once again, the cushion is scanned before going into the box so that a shipping label is generated. Once the label is placed on the box and the cushion is packed, it is scanned one last time. This initiates the ASN and tracking number as well as the billing process. From there, it goes directly on a conveyer that runs into a FedEx or UPS truck for delivery to your customer. HYDROFARM'S MINI SUNBURST SYSTEMS: BIG LIGHT IN A COMPACT UNIT With more than 37 years of experience in the industry, Hydrofarm Garden Center knows indoor gardening better than most. When it comes to a compact and convenient way to grow vegeta- bles, herbs, flowers and ornamentals indoors, it's hard to beat its Mini Sunburst ® 100-watt MH (halide) and Mini Sunburst 150-watt HPS (high pressure sodium) systems. Both mod- els are self-contained, high intensity lighting systems that are ideal grow lights for use in relatively small spaces such as tabletops, corners of rooms or anywhere your customers would like to give strong, life-giving light to con- tainer plants indoors. The 100-watt Mini Sunburst MH provides high-intensity, balanced day- light (white-blue) spectrum light in a small package for vigorous vegetative growth, while the 150-watt Mini Sunburst system uses a sodium lamp to give flowering and fruiting plants the light energy they need from the orange/red part of the spectrum. Lighting fixtures are, to a very large degree, only as effective as their reflectors, and it's in this particular area that the Mini Sunbursts really shine. Both models are equipped with specular aluminum inserts that provide intense reflectivi- ty and make very efficient use of the lamp output. Both Mini Sunburst models are whisper-quiet, lightweight, com- pact and easy to hang. Better yet, they are also CSA- certified for safety, powder-coated for moisture resistance and have venting for effective heat dissipation. No assembly is required; the user needs only to install the included lamp into the fixture and plug the system in. Whether your customers are more inclined to grow basil for their kitchen or bloom begonias for the dining room centerpiece, the Mini Sunburst systems are a great way to get the job done. The systems include the reflector, ballast (built-in), integrated 120-volt power cord, V-hangers, instruc- tions with lighting rec- ommendations, high intensity halide or sodi- um lamp and a two-year warranty.
