HHR: Tell our readers about yourself, your company and how 25 years brought Better Living to where it is today. MA: The Better Living story stems deep from a passion for creative stor- age and organization that makes life a little easier. Having a previous back- ground of pioneering innovative orga- nizational products in closet and garage spaces during the 1980s, I then ventured into focusing on the bath- room. With a desire for creating a neat and tidy bath environment, I saw a need for better storage and conven- iences that enhance the showering experience. Standup showers without any ledges to place bottles were becoming more popular, and the demand for shower liquids and result- ing bottle clutter was on the rise, with- out any way of organizing except for inexpensive plastic or wire shower- head hanging caddies. This drove me to invent a wall-mounted multiple chamber system to dispense shampoo and body wash. Years of development to achieve the highest quality for the design and value we targeted led to the creation of a revolutionary new system in our award-winning product, The Dispenser™, and in 1991, Better Living Products opened its doors. Our product provided homeowners with a convenient way to dispense premea- sured liquids at the push of a button and would ultimately save them money and eliminate waste by dispensing far less than one would normally use from a bottle. Continuing to be a world leader in shower dispensers, we then expanded and pioneered many new product categories from toilet tissue caddies with magazine and now mobile device storage, premium squeegees and other multi-functional bathroom products like our SPA Shower Seats and HANDI Valets. Our products are designed for quick and easy time-sav- ing installations and most often with- out any tools. HHR: To celebrate 25 years in the industry is a major accom- plishment. What makes Better Living unique that has resulted in its success, and what can we expect to see next? MA: Better Living is constantly devel- oping products of better quality and value. We design and manufacture our products to have timeless design; prod- ucts that we had introduced 25 years ago are still selling today. We position our products to be more like fixtures, as opposed to fashion fads. Quality manufacturing results in long-lasting products that are not meant to be dis- posed of in a few years. For example, we offer a lifetime warranty on our dis- penser pump, which is the heart of each unit. Dispenser reliability is essential, as it can be used multiple times a day and also enjoyed at hotels and cruise lines throughout the world. When I look at all the awards we have received over the last 25 years, from design innovations to merchan- dising and service, what has made Better Living so successful is combin- ing fabulous products with passionate people that love creating and build- ing, and in a small way making the world a little better through our craft. Our team is very pas- sionate to create the next inno- vation first, to address changing lifestyle trends and consumers that want better design, better quality, better conveniences and better solutions to make their lives a little easier and naturally, better. We partner with progressive retailers that have the foresight to introduce such new and different products. Consumers truly crave newness, look- ing for personal affirmation of luxury, design, beauty and living better. From all over the world, we continue to receive thousands of testimonials with consumers saying "I love your prod- uct." This is what sums up our pur- pose and gratitude of being in busi- ness for 25 years. We wish to extend our personal thanks to all our cus- tomers who have helped us achieve this special milestone and allow us to continue doing what we love. We look forward to sharing the next brilliant bathroom solution from Better Living with you. For more information, go to www.better livingproducts.ca, call 800.487.3300 or email info@dispenser.com.
