ICC-EVALUATION SERVICES BUILDING PRODUCT LISTING PROGRAM CONTINUES RAPID GROWTH The ICC Evaluation Service Building Product Listing Program provides manu- facturers with credible documentation that their products are compliant with standards used in the building industry. ICC-ES, the experts in building product evaluation and certification, issued a record eight new building product list- ings in the last two months, demonstrat- ing manufacturers' confidence in ICC-ES listings. Two of the listings have U.S. and Canadian evaluations. ICC-ES listings advance manufacturers' certification scope and indicate to code officials they are approving building products that meet the requirements of specific con- sensus standards referenced in building codes. "Our technical expertise, product knowledge and high quality standards ensure timely evaluation and issuing of report listings," said ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian. "We are thrilled with the continued growth and success of the Building Product Listing program led by Danny Wong." The latest manufacturers to receive ICC-ES Building Product Listings are Quest Construction Products, NCFI Polyurethanes, Profoam Corporation, Huber Engineered Woods, Sylvanix Outdoor Products, Commercial Thermal Solutions and Selena FM S.A. ICC-ES Listing Program offers manufac- turers a fast and cost–effective way to list their building products under any existing consensus standard. To find out if your product qualifies for this program, contact an ICC-ES Connect+ customer care expert. A nonprofit, limited liability compa- ny, ICC-ES is the United States' leading evaluation service for innovative build- ing materials, components and systems. ICC-ES Evaluation Reports, Building Product Listings and PMG Listings pro- vide evidence that products and systems meet requirements of codes and technical standards. The ICC-ES Environmental Programs issue VAR environmental reports that verify a product meets specific sustain- ability targets defined by today's codes, standards, green rating systems and ICC-ES environmental criteria. The Environmental Programs now offer Environmental Product Declarations to meet global market demand for science-based, transparent, quality-assured information about a product's environmental performance. ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council. For more information, visit booth #C8931 at the International Builders Show and booth #N2671 at the Kitchen Bath Industry Show. No water gets in from the outside, but water vapor and moisture escapes from the inside. Seal- Once is truly breathable. By allowing water and moisture to escape, the sub- strate will dry completely and bring any mold and mildew stains to the surface, and prevent more mold and mildew from penetrating the surface. Seal-Once is the world's only eco- friendly waterproofer which contains no VOCs, no toxicity and is water based. Seal-Once eliminates the need for yearly reapplication compared to oil and chemical based products. Seal-Once clear formula is non-film forming, and does not change the color of wood, concrete or masonry. Seal- Once can be painted or stained within hours of the application, ensuring a waterproof substrate. New Image Coatings has 16 tints available. Seal-Once tints are water based, low VOC, semi-transparent pig- ments with a blend of sub micron trans oxides and transparent ion oxides. The tints have excel- lent long term UV stability, especially the darker colors such as brown and mahogany. Look no further than New Image Coatings for an eco-friendly waterproofer that can be customized with your choice of tint. Visit New Image Coatings at booth #S1064. WATERFENCE OPENS FLOODGATES FOR AVAILABLE RAINWATER HARVESTING By Ken McDowell, President, WaterFence Why has nobody thought about passing legislation, not just here in California but nationwide, requiring new buildings to have mandatory rainwater harvesting? This is especially important in these cli- mate change, drought-ridden times. Several states are considering it. Several nations have mandated rainwa- ter harvesting already. Perhaps it is time for the United States to do something about it effectively using the rainwater we get to supplement the (now, not enough), freshwater we store in reser- voirs to solve our own drought issues. We get enough rain, it just all washes away. Right now, builders and develop- ers use retention ponds to offset the water that would soak into the ground where their homes and roads now pre- vent the absorption, keeping the rain from refilling the aquifers. This water is then dumped into our rivers and streams and is wasted. With tax incentives and government subsidies, we can have water sustainability in each home and commercial building. Rainwater har- vesting would allow the reuse of the rainwater putting it back into the ground to help refill the aquifers. Please check out our new, unique, multi-functional rainwater harvesting system that allows you to harvest thou- sands of gallons of rainwater, takes up very little property space and is also customizable in its look. WaterFence is a series of interconnected fence sections, each holding 240 gallons and connect- ed together gives you thousands of gallons of harvested rainwater hid- den in a fence. You won't be able to tell that there is water storage in it! Did you know that just one inch of rain on a 2000 square foot roof will give you 1260 gal- lons of runoff, and that is currently wasted? Engineered in California and after a year of pilot installs, testing and passing all of California's rigid building stan- dards, (including earthquake and wind) WaterFence is now available and is cur- rently being installed all over the coun- try. The WaterFence installs just like a regular fence, post holes, cement, etc. The two main differences of install are we use 6 x 3 inch galvanized hollow steel beams for support with the depth decided by soil type, and our tanks simply slide into place. We connect the tanks together with ball valves and a flexible hose. It is really a very simple install process. WaterFence is also a ter- rific sound suppressor and also does not burn, making it a very effective fire bar- rier. The water then is slowly released over the non-rainy season with people using it to water their yards, fill there pools, irrigate their gardens, whatever they wish to use it for, therefore allow- ing them to have the landscaping they desire. See it on our website and Facebook pages. For more information, visit www.waterfence.com, www.facebook. com/waterfence, email ken.mcdowell@ thewaterfence.com or call 415.595.3596.
