"We are thrilled to work with Seiko in the creation of the latest collection of hybrid analog smartwatches. Seiko's world-renowned position as a prominent brand and movement supplier allows the Martian brand to co- design and produce the highest quality products with a high- ly respected watch company," said Jeffrey Hsieh, Chief Executive Officer of Martian Watches. Martian Introduces mVoice PT & AE Series Second Generation Martian tastefully embeds some of the industry's most advanced smart fea- tures into always-on analog designs with classic styling, sweep-second hands and separate two-year batteries. But that's where tradition ends, as Martian's directional speaker and noise-canceling microphone allow wearers to access their smartphone's voice command functions and receive spoken responses – a feature not found on most smartwatches. Users can place calls, send voice-to-text SMS and email messages, listen and respond to messages, set calendar notifications, request music selections, search the Web, set reminders and all the other voice commands their phone allows. Meanwhile, incoming notifications take on a new sense of meaning with industry-first custom vibration patterns for eyes-free awareness and "quick recall" of the last alert through a simple tap of the watch glass. The new mVoice collec- tion features Martian's award-winning technology, including dual mode func- tionality, simultaneously offering voice command functions via classic Bluetooth while utilizing Bluetooth LE to provide hands-free and eyes-free notifications to the wrist from 1,000s of popular apps and programs. Other fea- tures include a phone and accessory leash feature so you don't leave your phone behind, a remote camera shutter mode to enable more selfie action, music control (on iOS), "find phone," notification history, second time zone, silent alarms and more. Martian Watches are water-resistant and com- patible with both iOS and Android operating systems. The Martian Active Collection includes two unique lines: Martian mVoice PT The Martian mVoice PT series arouses nostalgia with its retro, timeless design. This watch evokes the freedom of open skies and the glamorous days of early aviation. Although equipped with smartwatch capabilities and high-tech performance, the PT series has the simple, distinc- tive style of a vintage or retro airman's watch. Martian mVoice AE The Martian mVoice AE series boasts bold features with an active lifestyle design. This watch presents a precision appearance through an uncluttered 24- hour clock display with modern smart- watch features. The AE series is designed to look good, stand tough and serve up advanced, high-tech performance. For more information, visit www.martian watches.com or stop by booth #72742. CONNECTED DEVICES: A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITY Ingram Micro Consumer Technology Solutions embraces the possibilities of the ever-expanding network of digitally connected objects – also known as the Internet of Things – and the vast potential for profit that this connectivity brings to the marketplace. As consumers replace regular objects with "smart" devices, opportuni- ties are created for more direct integra- tion between the physical world and computer-based systems, leading to improved efficiency and utility as well as economic benefits. Smart, connected devices are already transforming our world and the competitive forces in business. As early as 2008, there were already more objects than people connected to the Internet, and this year, the number of connected objects is expected to reach 4.9 billion. New devices, and even many ordi- nary objects, are also being invented or reinvented with digital sensing, comput- ing and communications capabilities. This functionality provides both new and previously passive objects with a "digital voice" and the ability to create and deliv- er information streams reflecting their status and that of their surrounding envi- ronment. Such developments radically change the value proposition, creating new services and usage scenarios, and opening new avenues for enticing con- sumers to upgrade to smart devices and objects. For example, Gartner Research pre- dicts that, by 2020, a quarter of a billion vehicles will be connected to the Internet, creating completely new possibilities for in-vehicle services and automated driv- ing. "The connected car is already a real- ity, and in-vehicle wireless connectivity is rapidly expanding from luxury mod- els and premium brands to high-volume midmarket models," says James F. Hines, Research Director at Gartner. "The increased con- sumption and creation of dig- ital content within the vehicle will drive the need for more sophisticated infotainment systems, creating opportunities for appli- cation processors, graphics accelerators, displays and human-machine interface technologies." According to estimates by the McKinsey Global Institute, the Internet of Things will have a total economic impact of up to $11 trillion by 2025. Having connected kitchens could save the food and beverage industry as much as 15 percent annually. The Internet of Things will allow companies to make smarter products, which, in turn, will enable more efficient operations and informed decisions as device data allows businesses to collect more and specific feedback on how products are used. Growth will be real- ized as completely new business models are created to handle the aggregation and interpretation of this flow of valuable interconnected usage data. The implementation of real con- nectivity has barely begun, and the numbers are already staggering. Ingram Micro is poised to make the most of its breadth of variety in an array of technology sectors and ven- dors, and maximize the potential of this trend to bring a new age of profitabili- ty and growth to its customers.
