Whether monitoring timers or active recipes, remotely starting recipes or changing dayparts, checking equipment status and functionality, logging and accessing HACCP data, automating operating processes, analyzing usage to identify wasteful processes, or simplify- ing equipment troubleshooting, the SKM system is designed to save foodservice operators time and money by substantial- ly lowering training, compliance, and service costs. Using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology applications, the Renau SKM system connects to the inter- net through existing IT infrastructure via the mediation of a dedicated Bridge Module, allowing to a fast and secure central database server to unlock the full capabilities and potential of Renau-pow- ered equipment. The Renau SKM system can provide equipment operators and management with alert information regarding when product is running low or is reaching the end of its hold time or even if a door panel has been left open accidentally. The Renau (Cont'd. from p. 1) Renau SKM system can even provide equipment operators and kitchen staff with equipment operation information, food preparation instructions, and clean- ing directions. Most importantly, it can walk users through a series of simple, effective steps that can help restore equipment functionality. This can signif- icantly reduce equipment down-time and eliminate many unnecessary but expen- sive service calls. Even in those unavoidable situations where a service call is necessary, the Renau SKM system can help identify the most likely issues, identify and contact the most convenient authorized service provider, and even provide technicians with comprehensive equipment repair information, service manuals, parts lists and schematics and much, much more. Available for dedicated timer dis- plays, wireless tablets, as well as Windows, Android and even iOS devices, the Renau SKM system offers multiple levels of access including User, Manager, Service Technician and Main Office. With a nine second blend time, the machine increases efficiency and service speed. The machine has the capability to store pro- grammed drink recipes, resulting in flex- ibility and efficiency for operator train- ing. A programmable menu makes it easy to distribute custom beverage recipes to the operator's network with a convenient USB port built into the machine. "Frozen beverages present a signifi- cant profit opportunity for foodservice operators," said Patricia Bennett, Senior Director, Global Marketing, Taylor Company. "The MagnaBlend station is the perfect product for operators to keep up with consumer demand and increase production without having to increase resources. With the MagnaBlend station, operators can consistently deliver deli- cious blended beverages." Rather than using direct-contact gear mechanisms that can wear down, the MagnaBlend station features patented magnetic technology designed to elimi- nate friction, seal out moisture and ensure dependable operation. The extra-large ice hopper holds approximately 28 pounds of cubed ice so the operator has to load less Taylor Company (Cont'd. from p. 1) frequently. The blender pitcher can pro- duce two 16-ounce beverages within a nine second blending cycle. We participated in 2014 and received an encouraging response from the institutional buyers, restaurateurs and foodservice operators. Therefore, in NRA 2015, we would like to continue our relationship with the current buyers as well as seeking new opportunities for more products from Malaysia. RDN: What is Malaysia Kitchen USA and its impact to trade? MZ: Malaysia Kitchen USA is a brand- ing initiative by MATRADE with the major aim to increase exports of Malaysian food products to the USA, with the tagline "Bringing Malaysian Food to Every American Homes". Based on the trade statistics, U.S. imports of processed food from Malaysia recorded healthy double digit growth in 2014. I strongly believe we can do more and want to make further inroads into this big market. RDN: What are the uniqueness of food products from Malaysia? Can you give several examples of Malaysian signature dishes? MZ: Malaysian food products are unique because they resemble the diversity of our culture and influenced by multi-eth- nicity lifestyle in Malaysia. We are offer- ing great flavors of "three cultures in just one spoonful," trying to integrate this into various American dishes, making it fusion and exciting. Our signature dishes, among others are "Nasi Lemak" (coconut rice with spicy sambal and condiments), Malaysia Kitchen (Cont'd. from p. 1) Char-Kway Teow (wok fried noodles) and chicken/beef Rendang (spicy chick- en/beef). All recipes for these dishes are available in our website (www.malaysi- akitchen.us). RDN: Besides participating in the trade shows/exhibitions, what are other initia- tives undertaken by MATRADE? MZ: We are currently in the midst of pro- ducing our maiden TV show with Food Network/Cooking Channel USA, to pro- mote Malaysian food to wider American consumers. We are working closely with our Food Ambassador as the spokesperson and host for the show, introducing at least four delicious recipes of American dishes with Malaysian twist for the consumers to try. We are showcasing nearly 100 select- ed products that are currently available in the U.S. market, either at ethnic store or through online shopping portals. RDN: That sounds exciting. Finally, what are your last words to the readers of Restaurant Daily news? MZ: Please visit our Malaysia Kitchen booth #8536 at NRA 2015. We are show- casing wider array of Malaysian food and beverage products, which are available in Mid West areas as well as new products to the market. Some of these products are available for tasting and sampling. Our friendly assistants will be ready to receive you. For more information, visit www.malaysia kitchen.us, call 212.682.0232, email newyork@matrade.gov.my or stop by booth #8536.
