The GeoLok withstands prying, cutting, or impact tools and will send alerts for unautho- rized attempts to access cargo. The com- pany offers geofencing and chronofenc- ing capability that prohibits the lock from opening if it is outside a prescribed area and time frame. "Our product design and marketing team did a great job of developing a product that will work for a broad range of cargo security applications," said Tom Mann, CEO of TrakLok. "This product provides carriers an integrated system not available with current cargo security systems on the market." TrakLok Corporation specializes in security systems for the chemical, elec- tronics, and pharmaceutical industries. The GeoLok device provides an inte- grated system for trailer and container security by combining locking with monitoring, tracking and reporting. The TrakLok cargo security system comes complete in a standalone system, or can be integrated with several fleet manage- ment systems. For more information, visit booth 4122 or go to www.traklok.com. TrakLok (Cont'd. from p. 1) imaging LIDARS. 3D electronics chip stacking, an Irvine Sensors core expertise, and integration of signal processing with our sensor suites are enabling new product developments for anti-tamper and secure electronics as well as new sensors con- cepts. Recently, Irvine Sensors has focused on understanding how the human visual path (eye, retina, and cortex) processes and interprets imagery and the development of electronic circuits which can emulate this "cognitive" processing. We believe that cognitive vision systems will become pervasive throughout the sen- sor system markets. We are dedicated to becoming a leading provider of cognitive vision system products. OSD: Are you introducing any new products? JJ: Yes, we are introducing a major cog- nitive vision system product at ASIS. Our new product, called ALERT™ (Analyzing, Labeling, and Exploiting data in Real Time), is designed for the video surveillance system market which is burdened with too many cam- eras, too much data, and not enough operator/analysts to be both performance and cost effective. Real time applications of human visual path cognitive tech- niques to massive video data streams can allow immediate detection of potentially Irvine Sensors (Cont'd. from p. 1) threatening events and operator alerting. Our ALERT product can "cognitively process" simultaneous video data streams from many high definition cam- eras providing event detection and opera- tor alerting with negligible latency. OSD: What distinguishes your product from the competition? JJ: There are several unique features of our product. We begin performing cogni- tive processing and analysis "at the edge" with each camera in multi-camera sys- tems. Initial detection and annotation of high interest events occurs "at the edge." The multi-camera data with the associat- ed metadata is then intensively processed in a 2U multi-GPU core unit supporting up to 32 high definition cameras. Computational resources are thus focused on high probability threat areas from the get-go. Another key distinguish- ing feature of ALERT is that it can oper- ate upon installation using an initial cog- nitive-based rule set, which is then con- tinuously updated using modern unsuper- vised learning techniques. There is no training or retraining period required after installation. We have designed ALERT to easily integrate with a variety of video management system concepts and to operate on a wide variety of imag- ing sensors including thermal imagers and LIDARS. OSD: What is the outlook for this new technology? JJ: Irvine Sensors firmly believes that the future market will be a cognitive vision system product market and we are taking dead aim at it. ALERT is just the beginning! OSD: What do you anticipate to be your greatest challenge in the year ahead? JJ: Our challenge is getting the word out about ALERT— about its performance effectiveness and its cost effectiveness! We enable the SOC to efficient- ly dispatch the security and safety team for reduced response times and informed on-scene arrival. OSD: What products are you showcasing at ASIS this year? BR: This year we are launching our new Valor IMS; our ninth version. We're uniting experience with user- input and delivering a very scalable and flexible solution that works in any security environment. Valor IMS is available for an on-premise installation or hosted by Valor Systems in a very secured data center. OSD: What makes you different from all the rest? BR: For 19 years, we've been servicing the public safety industry; a mission critical environment. It taught us how to think, how to be pro-active and be posi- tioned to address "would be" disasters or incidents even before they occur. Providing preemptive intelligence can be a valuable asset given the dynamics of any incident locally or at a remote campus. We recognize a common prem- ise among all CEOs is to protect people, assets and brand. While companies share a common goal, their methods may vary based on company size, loca- tion, industry patterns and other factors. Valor delivers an Incident Management System that allows each customer to configure a system to meet their specif- ic needs. Valor Systems (Cont'd. from p. 1) OSD: How do you see the next year in terms of economy, sales, products, and product evolution? BR: There's a lot of talk about the uncertainty of our economy. With our background, we recognize the potential security issues that arise out of a bad economy. This is no time for compa- nies to cut back on security solutions. Companies need to look beyond local campus issues and link intel from vari- ous sources. Our mission is to enable all companies to implement Valor IMS with a proactive approach to security. From Visitor Management and Be On the Look Out to Dispatch and Reporting, our new Valor IMS platform and license model is available in vari- ous module configurations and may be hosted by Valor, greatly reducing capi- tal expenditures. OSD: To what do you attribute your company's success? BR: We listen, we learn, and we deliver. Not only is that our tag line, but we live by that philosophy, and it has served us well. Sure we have great experience in the safety and security market, but if we don't listen to a customer's needs— needs that may differ from our other cus- tomers— we aren't doing our job. Fortunately, we built a system that allows customers to have a unique system for their needs; all within our core system. IMAGE RESOLUTION CALCULATOR APP FROM THEIA NOW AVAILABLE Theia Technologies' Image Resolution Calculator App is a tool for iPhone and Android smartphones that allows users to input video surveillance parameters and provides the corresponding image resolu- tion from the convenience of a mobile device on location. Users input the camera resolution, sensor size, lens choice and one of three variables: camera distance, resolu- tion, or field of view. The tool calculates image resolution and returns a representa- tive image at that resolution to help the user understand what level of detail can be seen using the combination of variables. Theia's calculator app enables video surveillance integrators and systems designers to quickly and conveniently understand whether a combination of video surveillance imaging equipment meets the resolution and area coverage requirements of an application. The app, like Theia's web-based version, is unique because it provides a dynamic image that allows the user to zoom in and pan around the image for an even better understanding of what is to be expected from the user inputs. It gives a designer a good indication of whether their pro- posed choice of equipment will work prior to installation and testing, helping to avoid product specification mistakes and costly system rework. Theia has applied for a patent for the calculator and its unique functionality. To learn more about Theia Technologies, visit www.theiatech.com or call 503- 570-3296.
