Kitchenware News & Housewares Review Show Daily 2 3 Tuesday, March 17, 2020 Storemaxx Introduces New Product at Show An interview with Ed Spitaletta, Chief Executive Officer, StoreMaxx Inc. ® , cre- ator of Snap Pak ® , the original meal prep container. KNSD: You were on the team that invented the Clip Strip ® in 1979. Tell our readers about that. ES: My dad is actually the inventor of the Clip Strip. I led the team responsi- ble for implementing the functional development and practical application at the retail level. We used an old Pathmark store as test bed for the even- tual patent. Clip Strip changed the entire retail cross merchandising land- scape and began the P.O.P. industry in earnest. KNSD: What was the genesis for offer- ing foodservice containers for retail? ES: It was my wife. She would always wash our takeout containers and save them one by one, claiming they were her favorite containers. After a marketing study offered positive results, StoreMaxx was born. KNSD: What separates StoreMaxx from its competitors? ES: StoreMaxx is a unique supplier in today's environ- ment. In spite of our rapid success, we remain and will continue to remain a boutique shop style vendor will- ing to customize our programs to fit a customer's business model. KNSD: What separates Snap Pak from the other available options people have? ES: We distance ourselves from our competition through a commitment to best-in-class quality at value pricing, and Made in the USA with a Q-4 expansion plan. KNSD: Where is Snap Pak sold? ES: Our market strategy is strong trading partnerships with America's big box chain stores. Our e-com- merce business is boom- ing and now we have an opportunity to expand into new markets like foodservice. KNSD: Anything new and exciting com- ing out in the food container category this year? ES: In keeping with our tradition of inventing and innovating, we are intro- ducing the Snap Pak Hot Box ® at the show. The Hot Box is a dual walled con- tainer with a thermal heat pack that heats the water in the well, which in turn heats your food. Come see the Hot Box at booth #S224! The U10-SF is an ultra-slim standalone fingerprint sensor module. It is designed for OEMs and developers to embed into a wide variety of compact hardware products that require fingerprint biomet- ric functionality. Examples include mobile devices, ATMs, POS devices, access control sys- tems, lock boxes, safes and nearly any- thing that could benefit from the added security and convenience of biometrics. It comes preloaded with SecuGen's Fingerprint Management System soft- ware that allows it to be used right out of the box to capture fingerprint images, extract templates, enroll, search and match fingerprints all in one device. What is special about the U10-SF? The U10-SF provides the tools and tech- nologies that allow for the rapid and effi- cient development of a wide variety of embedded fingerprint solutions where high quality, rugged design, and afford- ability are key factors. It is the world's smallest program- mable optical fingerprint module of its kind and is FBI certified for image qual- ity set by the FIPS 201, PIV and Mobile ID FAP 10 specifications. With high image quality, you can be assured of greater accuracy and reliability which is especially needed for sensitive and secure applications. What's inside the module? The core of the U10-SF sensor module is the U10, a rugged, high image quality optical fingerprint sensor. This sensor also features an integrated Single Board Computer that contains a 1 GHz CPU, a fully programmable Linux system, SecuGen's fingerprint matching SDK, and OpenSSL Cryptographic libraries. The template extraction and matching algorithms that run on the device are NIST MINEX certified. All of this power and func- tionality is packed into an ultra-slim profile not more than 12mm in thickness. What does this mean for OEMs? We have always focused on delivering to our OEM partners the tools they need to compete successfully in this highly competitive industry. The U10- SF is a perfect example of this focus, as our team has worked long and hard on this product, to achieve three goals: to reduce the size of the sensor to our smallest ever; to merge a Single Board Computer with the fingerprint sensor module and embed an open Linux development environment; and to drive the final product down to the lowest price in its class. Altogether, this resulted in a world class OEM sensor that's unique in the industry and a major breakthrough that our OEM partners have been asking for and expecting us to deliver.
