Food Magic Daily Tuesday, June 4, 2019 4 Exciting, Innovative Foods from Garon It was the summer of 1978, in a place called Freedom, that Gary and Sharon Griesbach were united in holy matrimo- ny and founded the Freedom Farm. As the years passed, the Griesbachs had seven children, and the Freedom Farm expanded from a small dairy to a large dairy producing its own butter and ice cream. Gary and Sharon expanded the Freedom Farm to include assorted fruits and vegetables, along with many acres of organic products. Then a fiery dream ignited the vision for the future: to grow jalapeno peppers and process them in an innovative way called mechanical infusion, which was pioneered by the Griesbachs. With the virtuous value and a commitment to excel to excellence, Gary and Sharon decided to sell the Freedom Farm, joined their two names together, and formed Garon Foods Incorporated on July 1, 1994. At Garon ® , the extraordinary group of individuals working together is known as the Garonteam™, which is thrusting Garon ever forward, evolving into the world's premier provider of global food industry foods. The Garonteam's integrity and ever-present excel to excel- lence modus operandi are the propelling forces that motivate the Garonteam to supply safe, superior quality food products, with cus- tomer service that surpasses the status quo of expected service. Garon concentrates on creating new flavor-filled foods to incorporate into traditional foods. Garon specializes in researching, developing and creating exciting, innovative, flavor-filled Agtron Quality Control Analyzers Agtron color measurement and process quantifying instrumentation is invaluable in controlling the quality and consistency of food products. Agtron's bench-top units are fully self-contained, accurate, repeatable and easy to use. The flavor and appearance of food is directly related to the degree of process; the quantitative measurement of color and color-related process variables are imperative for maintaining absolute and customer perceived consistency and quality. Agtron spectrophotometers are designed to provide high resolution analysis of color/appearance variations as they relate to degree of roast, bake, fry and fruit maturity for a wide variety of food products. Agtron analyzers perform product analysis by illuminating the surface of the sample being tested with specific wavelengths of light and then measur- ing the reflected energy signature. The analysis results are user configurable, and depending on the application, can provide comprehensive information, or be displayed as a single pass/fail quali- ty control number. Many products require little or no sample preparation before being tested, making it easy for multiple users to achieve consistent results. Agtron has experience with many types of food products and offers a free laboratory test- ing program. Samples sub- mitted are test- ed to determine the spectral activity as it relates to the associated process index. The results determine which Agtron sys- tem, methods and specific measurements should be used to produce the most accu- rate and repeatable results. The Agtron sales, laboratory and technical staff are always available for customer support. Visit Agtron at booth #1843.
